When I spoke with Reyna she told me that we could stay at any of the resorts and still get married at the Del Mar/Beach. I would email her your question and see what she says. If you it in writing that you are allowed to stay at the Lindo or Maya then it should be no problem. I was concerned about that too so I email her the following. Her answer is below: 2. Just to confirm, if we book a room at the Lindo or the Maya we will still be allowed to get married at the del/mar. We stayed at the Maya in the past and would just like to know if that is an option for us if we choose. Yes, you can stay there an get married here. Thank you for asking. Hope this helps! What are your thoughts? Thanks! Hey Christy!! Fans or no fans your wedding is going to be HOT!!! We can't wait! Let me know if you want us to bring anything down for you if you don't have room in your bags. We'd be happy to help out! Can't believe its only a month and a half away. You must be getting so excited!!!

Danielle thank you so much for sharing your pictures! You looked beautiful! I love the way you had the gazebo decorated. Did the iberostar do that or did you do it yourself? Also, random question for anyone. My soon-to-be sister in law just said that she heard nudity was allowed at some of the resorts!! I just wanted to know if anyone has seen any of that during their trips. I stayed at the Maya in 2006 and saw none of that. They have kids so I want to make sure they feel comfortable with staying there without having to worry about nakedness around the pool/beach.

I just got my confirmation yesterday!! We are getting married at the del mar/beach June 18, 2010!! Let the planning officially begin!

Hi Girls!! I was just wondering how your contact has been lately with the WC. I actually called Mexico last week and talked to Reyna's assistant Karla. She took my name and the date we have chosen for 2010 and said that she put our name down for that date. She then told me to email her to confirm and then she would send info. It has been about a week now and I still haven't heard from her. For those of you who have been working with them for a while now, is this normal? I just want to confirm my date, but I don't want to keep nagging them either. Also, I have been trying to find more pictures of the wedding gazebo at the del/beach to show my family members and Fiancee. I have found a few good ones, but if anyone else has good pictures I would love to see them. My email is [email protected] if you want to email them or post them for everyone else too. Thanks so much!! Good luck to all getting married this weekend...it looks like there's a few of you!! Leah =)

Welcome!! I'm getting married in June at the Iberostar too!! I have found so much information on the Iberostar Brides thread! I also got a little nervous about the craziness going on in Mexico and looked at Jamaica. It sounds like the Iberostar there is beautiful, but Mexico is just much easier for our guests to travel. Not too mention it is really safe there and so beautiful! Good Luck!

Trevess, Beautiful pictures! I love you had your reception outside!! I didn't even know that was an option! I bet you can't have dinner out there right, just in one of the restaurants? Also, did you think it was hot being outside? We are hoping to use the Tropical restaurant which I know is open air and I'm a little nervous about how hot it might get in June. Anybody know if they let you bring your own fans? Thanks!!

Just this weekend while we were up "getting" my dress, my future FIL was calling for a hurricane while we were down there too!! Too funny how all our minds are on the same track here! Gals, our days will be what we make of them and it sounds like they're all going to be fabulously fun and rememberable!!! So, my "getting" my dress this weekend wasn't so fun ... actually, a little Bridezilla came out this weekend! I got a call from the bridal store Saturday evening at 4:30 ... half hour before they closed, to confimr my appt to try on my dress Sunday at 12. The gal said, well, it looks like your dress ahsn't arrived yet, so you can try on the sample again! The fumes started flying! They gauranteed me that it would arrive on Friday and I could come in Sat or Sunday to pick it up! Being 5 hours away, my FI and I decided to make a weekend out of it to visit our in-laws, who live an hour away from the store. My mom even took off work to come with us! Needless to say, there have been many phone calls and one face to face visit with the store! As of now, they're talking with a bridal store 15 minutes from our house to arrange for it to be shipped here and the alterations taken care of. The salon will be taking care of every additional expense for this dress. So, unfortunately, I have no pics to share with you ... Hopefully in the next few weeks I should though! I'm about to do our final 4 pages of wedding details! Have some decisions to make! Thanks for all the help to make this process so much easier! If I have any questions ... they'll be coming shortly! DEEKAN!!!! So glad to see you on here! Hey ... we'd love to have you and Colin join us if you two need a vaca!!! Then you can party with us and get some up front info!! Plus, prices are dropping like mad!!! Murph and Jess got an awesome price, and ours keeps dropping because of getting the insurance for guaranteed lowest price! Awesome to see you leaning towards the Iberostar ... you said yourself they were beautiful!!! Hey Christy!! Sorry to hear about your dress, it sounds like everyone is dealing with some sort of set back these days. Thanks so much for the invite! We will definitely consider coming if it works out with our schedule. But, if you don't want to have that many people we certainly won't intrude. I'm so excited about our decision to go back to the Iberostar. I actually called there today and supposedly secured my date for next year!! It is so pretty and I know everyone will have a good time. As for all you ladies who are dealing with these changes you can blame it on THE MEDIA!!! I can't believe the power they have to twist people's thoughts and emotions. Our uneducated society honestly believes these is like the Black Plague or something. My goodness its the freakin flu!! I wish people would just turn off the stupid TV and live their lives without so much fear. My heart goes out to all of you and I wish you all the best. I would be so upset too. I hope Iberostar helps you all out. Keep us posted, we are cheering for ya!

Yes, the Los Vitrales is $50 flat fee. However, I think maybe it only holds 40 people I'm not sure what you do for more than 40 people. I know you can do the Disco, but I've heard it is not good for a reception because it is a Star Trek theme or something. I'm not sure if the convention center would be available for a Lindo/Maya wedding. I'm sorry I'm not much help, our group is only 24. That's great that you have so many people coming!! Thank you so much for the info! I have a feeling we are going to go with the Del Mar/Beach resorts because we love the garden gazebo and would like to have a private reception. So far we think we'll have more than 40 people, but hopefully no flu hits again right before our wedding or the number might drop! I just saw that you are from STL! That is where I'm from too! That's one of the reasons we decided to do a destination wedding because we have people coming from all over Illinois and Missouri so no matter where we had the wedding it would be a destination for someone. So why not make it a vacation destination!

I'm not sure about the number of people that can fit in the gazebos and chapel. But here is a pic of the Lindo/Maya gazebo that I got from the WC. We will be having 22 guests plus us. For a reception, we are having dinner at the Steakhouse on property and then renting a private room for dancing, the Los Vitrales room. It is costing us $50 plus $6 per person per hour for open bar. I will try to post a pic of this as well. Thanks so much! I was not able to open up the PDF (I keep getting a message saying that I don't have enough point?) We are guessing that we will have between 60-80 guests so hopefully we can fit somewhere. We don't really want to do the beach and all the other locations are so pretty! So the cost of Los Vitrales was $50 flat fee not $50/person right? We have been leaning towards the Iberostar because it seems like it is so much cheaper to have a private reception. Thanks again for your help. I'm hoping to hear back from the WC soon, but I imagine with all the "Swine" craziness she is getting overloaded with emails. I'm not scared at all and just want to set a date!! I'm so excited!!

Your pictures are so pretty! Thanks for posting those! I feel like its so hard to find pictures of that gazebo! It looks like you could fit about 20 people inside the gazebo so I guess maybe 40 more could fit around it. I don't know, I hope we can make it work! I did email the wedding coordinator but I haven't heard back from her yet. How long did it normally take for you to hear back from her?

Thanks so much for your help! I actually found a review somewhere last night where they had 65 people around the gazebo! It's seems crazy that many people would fit, but I hope its true. And I hope no one falls in the water during the ceremony =) I thought that was the case that we would have to stay on the del mar side. My family stayed in the Maya the last time, but walking through the del mar it looked just as nice so no big deal. I just want to be able to do the garden ceremony, it looks so pretty! To all of you getting married soon good luck! I feel so bad that the media is making this swine flu thing such a big deal and you are having guests cancel. Its very unfortunate, but I'm sure that you will all have a blast and whoever doesn't come will regret it. Thanks again!

Hi Girls, Thanks for all the info! I am still new to the forum and its been so helpful! We have been doing alot of shopping around of resorts and still keep coming back to the iberostar! I had a few questions that I was hoping someone would be able to answer for me: 1. How many people can fit around the garden gazebo? The chapel? 2. If we choose to stay in the Lindo or the Maya would we still be allowed to use the gazebo and the tropical restaurant? 3. Are there any other options for a private reception? I thought I saw a photo of a reception held in the breakfast buffet restaurant (la laguna at the Maya I think?) If so what are the costs? Thanks so much!! Also "FutureBotter" this is "FutureLanning" thank for recommeding the site =) Leah

Hi Missy, I am considering the Paradisus and would love to see some pictures of the wedding on the terrace. For some reason I cannot find any. If you could email some to me [email protected] or post a link I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much, Leah

Hi Everyone! Thanks again for all the GREAT information!! This site has been so helpful in making our decision. We still can't solidfy our June 2010 yet, but we are definitely going to as soon as we can!! We are planning on having a private reception which I understand cost about $50-$60 more per person. I was wondering if anyone knew if that cost was combined with the $20 extra per person for the ceremony. Just wanted to find out if it will be costing us $50-$60/person or $70-$80. If someone could let me know I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks so much, Leah

Hi Everyone! Thank you for your Awesome posts, they have been very helpful. I just got engaged 2 weeks ago...yeah!!! We are still finalizing our decision, but I'm pretty sure we are going to go with the Grand Palladium. I just had a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer for me if you have a chance: 1. How early can you reserve your date? We are looking at June 2010. 2. What should I expect from the Wedding Coordinator? I emailed her yesterday for some information, but it sounds like she takes a while. 3. How many weddings do they have per day? I've heard 3-6. Anyway, thank you all in advance for all your help!! I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get further along in the planning!! Thanks, Leah =)

Hi Lori, I'm a new bride to be also and have been doing ALOT of research. The only resort I've ever stayed at was the Iberstar Maya and it was AWESOME!! We have some friends who are getting married there in August that also have a small group of people attending. You should definitely check it out. Good Luck! Leah
