Keep us posted on what the WC says. I am hoping for peonies in my bouquet as well and have been curious about how much extra they will cost.

From what I understand the Maya/Lindo act as one resort when it comes to wedding and the Del Mar/Beach act as another. So if you are getting married at the Maya or Lindo you will be the only one. There may be a wedding going on at the Del Mar/Beach, but you would probably never even know.

My family stayed at the Maya in 2006 and my fiancee and I stayed at the Lindo this summer. Though the Maya has a little bit bigger rooms, I thought the Lindo was just as fabulous! If price is a concern I think the Lindo would be perfect, especially since you share almost all of the same amenities.

We are getting married at the Del Mar. But, we are actually going to be staying at the Lindo.

I haven't decided yet on a fake or real flower. I will probably end up going with a fake just so I know for sure what it will look like. However, a real tropical flower would probably be so pretty.

Amy - Oh my gosh, I just clicked on your website and heard your song!! That is our song that we going to have for our first dance!! We heard it before we were engaged when Brad Paisley was on American Idol and were both in tears!!

Amy and Shannon - If you are looking to find a way to save a little on invitations you can have your guests RSVP via your website. This would save you money on return cards, envelopes, and stamps. Mywedding.com has an option for this. I also just realized that you can include multiple events (rehearsal dinner, wedding, ahr). I was so excited about this because we are having an AHR in St. Louis and possibly in Chicago!! Amy it looks like you have a mywedding.com site, you should check it out!!

Bride to be- The Maya also has Jacuzzi tubs and access to private pools. These are nice amenities, but if you are on a tight budget the Lindo is basically the same. Shannon - I am planning on doing a veil for the ceremony and then having a flower put in for the reception. I am also going for an updo. Not sure about April or May, but I'm assuming it is going to be very HOT in June and I want to try and stay as cool as possible!

I second the Iberostar course! My Dad and Brother played it a few years ago and my fiancee played this summer. They all said it was great! I guess it depends on where you are staying in RM though. They would probably appreciate going somewhere close to your resort.

Our friend had fake flowers at her wedding in Riviera Maya and they were very pretty! I personally would still like real flowers, but the alternative is great as well!!

My wedding coordinator said they need about 2 months before the wedding before they can say for sure what kind of flowers they can get. I really want peonies and she said they have usually been able to get those. Hopefully it will work out!!

Good question. We have a photographer, videographer, and 2 assistants. I guess that's going to be more than I thought.

We chose the Iberostar Del Mar for our wedding. The Iberostar has 5 levels and the del mar is the least expensive. I think (from St. Louis) our guests are paying $1300 per person for 7 nights. I thought this was a great deal!! We also liked this resort because they have a gazebo, the beach, and a chapel for the ceremony. They also have a great option for a private reception.

We are thinking of sending the Spanish for dummies to our guest beforehand so they have time to practice. This might also give them something to do on the plane!!

Shannon, I just sent you an email with a video we took of the chapel. Does anyone know how to upload videos? I have a few short videos that we took in Mexico and would be happy to share them if I knew how.

Could you do an at home celebration when you get back? We are going to have an open house type party at my parents for the family and friends that won't be there. We are planning on having a cake there and some hor doerves but nothing too fancy. Our hope is that we will have some pictures and maybe the video to share. If you did this they could still celebrate.

Great Websites girls!! Samantha you'll have to let us know how the online RSVP works out. I was thinking of doing the same thing, but wondered how the guests would respond.

It sounds like no matter what you do your Mom might be a bit difficult. Maybe you could work on your siblings and see if they will come without your Mom (depending on their age). Here's another piece of reassurance for you: My sister's friend is having a traditional wedding in St. Louis next weekend. She is pretty stressed out and has told my sister that she wishes she was having a DW like me. Sometimes we get caught up in the difficulty of planning this type of wedding, but just remember there would be issues if you did it in the states as well. Anyway, good luck and hopefully all the BDW support has helped ease your mind. This is such an awesome place to vent!!
