  1. I've got the same question, Scubadiva. I'm getting married in less than 4 months, and we've got two of the groomsmen and one bridesmaid booked. We each asked 4 people. The remainder all still say they are coming, but how do you get them to book it without coming off like a Bridezilla? My travel agent told me yesterday that all the seats through Signature (my travel provider) leaving via Edmonton are filled. We can still get some through Sunquest, so not all is lost, but obviously its a popular flight. I'm really worried that if our wedding party doesn't get booked, they won't be able to make it there. AND if someone backs out, do we leave it uneven? My brothers wife and fiances sister will both be there, and I'm sure they'd fill in for someone. And my fiance has the same options. Would it be rude to ask someone to stand in last minute? I would feel bad asking wedding party members to sit out...
  2. Just thought I'd let you ladies know that I found key card/tip holders at Staples for 99 cents each. I'd already got some leather ones from Dollarama, but they didn't have enough, so I'd planned on raiding another store. The ones I found at Staples though are really cute patterened ones, so I'm going to use those for the girls and give the leather ones to the boys! They also had solid colors at Staples, if you want to get them all there! Also, went to Giant Tiger recently, on everyones advice, and though I didn't find anything for my OOT bags, I DID find 2 really cute dresses for $15 a peice AND a sweet bandeau bikini for $30! WOOT!
  3. Olsentco, try searching Penners online, that's where I got our grooms party shirts and they're great! Gonna match them with either some white drawstring pants or white tux pants. Casual, but authentic. KristieF, SaltoCoach, MexicanaBride, we are date quadruplets!! Is anyone encountering this issue??: My passport is expired, and I don't actually need it to get to Mexico, but everyone is telling me I should get it anyway. BUT, then I'm stuck for five years with a passport with my maiden name.. What to do? Not really worth the $$ to get it if I'm going to have to replace it, right? Also, I've started my OOT bags, and I think they'll be great, but how do you all intend to get them there? Distribute amongst the bridal party?? Still need to book my fitting... sounds like about 6 weeks is standard?? This is creeping up so fast, feel nervous that I should be doing something I'm not. This just seems way too easy. lol. I know this was mentioned before, but its so frustrating not having solid numbers on the amount of guests to expect! Am having to overbuy on all my OOT stuff, just to be safe. If I wind up with extras, I'll post them for sale!!

There are so many dollar type stores to choose from! I am getting married in less than 8 weeks and need to get this stuff together asap! Also, I am a little confused about labels/vista print etc. Do you buy plain stickers and have them printed? How about labeling your canvas bags? Is there something you can buy and iron on yourself? I am so confused. Thank you so much for your help! Kristy I'm from Edmonton and here's what I've picked up so far: from Liquidation World (15535 115A Avenue): Travel Aloe Vera's (under a buck) Decks of cards with plastic case (about 50 cents) Gorgeous, giant striped beach bags for my bridal party (around $5 each) I'm going to get their names embroidered on them. From Dollarama: Leather keycard/tip money holder ($1) I cleared out the Westmount location, so you may want to go elsewhere. Mesh drawstring OOT bags in bright blue/purple/green/pink ($1) From Staples: Small glitter gel pens (12 for $ which I'll slip in the leather keycard holders with a small post it pad for leaving notes on peoples doors for meeting up purposes Iron Transfer Paper (can't remember for sure, but I think it was around $15 for 5 sheets) I did a trail and this works quite well, just make sure you keep the iron on it for more than the reccommended time, otherwise it tends to peel off. I'm also hoping to get travel mugs. Will likely just get cheapies from somewhere and add stickers or keep some sharpies on hand for people to decorate their own. I can't justify the price of doing a custom one. I've asked around and it seems that insulated and with a lid are priority to people, and that can get rather costly if ordering them.
  5. I believe someone mentioned this on a post earlier, but maybe it should be reiterated for those of you skipping to the end of the thread. Someone suggested writing your emails to the coordinators in Spanish (Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation works great for translating). I tried it and am definitely finding that I get a quicker response! Diana still wrote back to me in English. Worth a shot anyway! Good luck!

  8. Hey all! I'm so excited! Got the flower, cake and menu options this week! Private message me if you want them! Also, the Grooms and Groomsmens shirts have come in! They are traditional Mexican Guayaberas, and they look fantastic! I got them online from Penners, they were super easy to deal with, and the shirts came from Texas to Edmonton in 5 days. Though some of the shits I ordered (according to their sizing chart) came too big, so order whatever they would normally wear, and not according to the chart. Does anyone know if the beach/beach bar 'closes' at any time? Isn't it feasible that after dinner, we could just go party on the beach?? And not pay $80/person?
  9. I had the same problem with the swim ups.. I haven't called the resort yet to ask about the rates, but if you do, could you post them? Also, has anyone received the flower/cake options yet?? NOTE: I am looking to share an external photographer!! I am getting married on November 11th, 2009. Is anyone willing to share the cost of binging someone in? I am open to suggestions, and also have options for those who haven't chosen a photog yet! Just trying to be budget friendly!

  11. TISeege, I notice that you are a photographer. And you mentioned that you will be at the Grand Riviera Pincess in November? I am looking to an alternative to using the resort photographer... interested? Message me!
  12. 'tcram' I am also getting married there on the 11th of November! Hope everything works out for you!!
  13. I'm getting married there, as well, on November 11th! When will you be there! Congrats!!
  14. I've got a similar problem, only I've got a brides man on my side. I'm pretty sure we'll have my fiance's party already standing at the alter and have my party do the processional. For the recessional, we will have everyone walk single file. Although, it does look more awkward for two men walking arm in arm than it does for two women. In your case, I would just pair the grooms woman with a bridesmaid.
  15. What a relief to know others are doing this. I've spent hours online trying to figure out what were the legal requirements surrounding this. But it makes sense that since we'll already be married, the officiant could be anyone willing to speak. I assume someone has confirmed this with the resort? Our friend is a writer, so I think we'll leave it up to him to take creative liscence and make it memorable (with a few guidelines anyway).
