I'm from Edmonton, but if you've found them at a chain where you are, it's likely I can get them here, as well.... Thanks for any suggestions you might have for me!

Vikki, I've had the brazilian before(but not for awhile, so I know it's going to be oh-so-PAINFUL! Couple advil beforehand helps!) and my skin stays red for a couple days, then it's ok. So I've booked my treatment for the Wednesday and we leave on Friday. However, I'm also getting my legs and armpits done, which I've never had before. I can't imagine it's more painful than the sensitive areas around my 'hoo-hoo' though. So, the relief and stresslessness I was feeling must've been the calm before the storm. lol. Meltdown number two last night. I guess two sleepness nights with a sick 5 year old (was watching my goddaughter) couldn't have helped much. Now I'm back to panicked delegating mode. lol. Am mostly just stressed about getting everything there. Have assigned some of the OOT bag stuff out to family/wedding party. And done pretty well in terms of my own packing. Are you ladies bringing soap? Silly question, but I am honestly not sure that I can fit soap. hahaha.. am going to pick up some travel bottles today for my shampoo at least. Also, what are you doing for vitamens? I have a few different things I take (spirulina, acai, fishoils, multivitamen, vitamen d) and can't fit all the bottles! If I put them all into one, do you think I'll have issues with customs?? I'm worried that if I just leave them all at home, my body/horomones will go all haywire! Aiyoooh... Thanks for putting up with my mental instability... lol.

That's tough, I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. I see why you don't want here there. I agree with Kathy and jetsbride, that you should send the 'ultimatums' back and say, if you are coming you are expected to be supportive. If she can't do that and comes anyway, then take the approach suggested by future_mrs 2010 and don't let her get to you. In fact, I wouldn't even give her so much as an ok, just a blank stare and walk away if she is being negative in any way. Then find yourself company who is happy for you and can share your excitement. You might want to talk to the officiant as well and have him omit the part where he asks if there are any objections, just to be on the safe side.

jetsbride, how did I not realize until now that you're from Edmonton?! I go to Mudhoney Salon on 124th Street and 108th ave. My stylist is named Sarah and she's AWESOME with my hair and oh-so lovable. The phone number is (780) 758-6155. I warn you, getting my hair done is one thing that I treat myself to, so a cut/color runs about $200 before tip. But they don't color your hair at the mirror, they take you to this big table in the back that's got magazines and fresh muffins and fruit and they serve you coffee/tea/lattes. For me, it's totally worth it to splurge on myself once in awhile.

We return home on Friday, November 20th and our reception is planned for Saturday November 28th. I'm already regretting having it so close. I've been so excited for the DW, I've put very little thought into the AHR, and now am panicking about having to get everything arranged the week before! Give it a bit more time, and save yourself the stress!!

I also was able to find BDW brides who were willing to share the expense! I'm getting 8 hours (5 on the wedding day and 3 for TTD the next day) for under $1300, and that includes a CD with edited images. Shop around, find a few options and let them know what your budget is. Some photographers will lower their price for the opportunity and holiday.

Melissa, that's what this forum is for!! Blow up all you need to!! Personally, I think the dress looks great! I'm also going to be taping my ladies, but I've never done it before, so will likely do a trial. Also, I've got something called 'Dry-sol' which I get over the counter at the pharmacy (no prescription needed). It's a liquid in a tube that you dab on your armpits at night, and the next day-- no sweat!! I was thinking I'd use it on the area I'm putting the stickers on, too, to prevent them from sliding off because of sweating too much! Check out Youtube for DIY hairstyles, I found a couple that I've been working on to save myself the $$ for my TTD and AHR. And I agree with Keira, go natural with the makeup. It will look less contrived...

Wow, I wish I had the money to do that! Unfortunately, we don't. We approached out bridal party initially saying that we'd be having a destination wedding, and if they could make it we'd love for them to stand up for us. No pressure. Luckily we're fortunate enough that the majority have decided to join us. I think there are not a lot of people who can afford that, and it is just a best case scenario reccommendation rather than actual ettiquette. IMO, anyway.

RATS! Nope....

My legal ceremony was just perfect! We drove out to my nana and papa's, who witnessed for us. Had the ceremony in their living room. Mom had got us a bouquet and boutenier, so cute! Follwed up with wine, pictures and then dinner out. Nana and papa had brought a little cake to the restaurant beforehand, so we even had a wedding cake. tee hee. Then went out to a local pub we used to hang out at all the time, and had drinks with friends. I asked the band to play a Johnny Cash song for our first dance and they played 'I still miss someone', lmao. Totally inappropriate, but we got a good laugh out of it. Drank too much retsina, thinking it was just pungeant wine, and got more drunk that I think I've ever been. Had a blast nonetheless. 11 days til I fly outta here! SOOOO excited!!

Lol, sounds like you had a blast at your stagette! It wouldn't be considered a success if there weren't some 'I love you, mans' and a few people blackout drunk! My legal day was absolutely perfect. Had the ceremony in my nana and papas living room, went out for dinner then to a pub for drinks with friends. Asked for red wine and was offered 'greek wine'. I just figured it was made in Greece. It wasn't till the next day that I peiced together that it must've been retsina (higher alcohol content), because I don't remember ever being so drunk. lol. We had a blast though, was definitely a night to remember! Or at least peices of it, hahahahaaa... I'd post some pics.. but flickr is also blocked at my work... any other suggestions? I packed my bag on Saturday night.. still have a few things to squeeze into FI's bag, but I think I did pretty well keeping it to a minimum.

Unfortunately, our budget was such that we had to veto gifts to eachother. We're writing our own vows, and that is our gift. I will have them framed after the wedding.

I think DEFINITELY convince her to wear the first one. The second, she will roast in! And you're right, it's not beach appropriate, whereas the fist one is elegant and flowy and GORGEOUS! She will already outshine your MIL in the 1st dress. I think it's perfect.

Raykel, that's a tough one, especially if you plan to take it down to Mexico yourself, because then you're also dealing with a space issue. I'm thinking something he can 'play' with, like a remote control helicopter or maybe an underwater camera (can get disposable ones for about $12). Or maybe some kind of water sports game?
