Just curious what other brides are doing ... How many days do you guys plan to be in Mexico for your entire trip? I think i'll be there for a total of 11 days, I'm not sure if that is too much or not enough. lol. Do you plan to stay at The Royal Resort for your honeymoon too or going to another resort or another location all together?

For those who are doing a Symbolic Ceremony like I am: Does anyone know what exactly the minister says during the ceremony? Or have a copy of what he says you could send to me please? I just wonder if they say the same things as a normal ceremony... Thanks, Adriana if anyone has this information, my email is [email protected] Thanks !!!

jesmcan, I think i read in one of your past posts that when you go in November you are going to find out how much it costs for a MAC person to come to your suite to do your makeup. If you do, Would you also find out from the resort if there is any "Vendor Fee" or any type of fee we would have to pay to let the make-up artist in our rooms? Thanks so much! Adriana

tutti1299 - your ideas are awesome! love love them all! im totally getting the table runner, quick question about the napkins. The link you sent us, so is this company a rental? are you going to rent their napkins, use them in mexico, and just make sure someone is there to collect them all so you can ship back to this company? Thanks! Adriana

Hi Tutti1299, Do you have a link or website of the centerpieces you are using? The giant Martini glass sounds awesome!! I agree, i think $60 each centerpiece is way to expensive! Thanks! Adriana "We found centerpieces for only $30/table. They are giant martini glasses that you fill with this clear filler. There is a light at the bottom of the glass (color of our wedding) and a martini pick that is the other color we are using for our wedding."

What are you ladies going to do for your table decorations for your reception dinner? How are you going to jazz it up? The standard white set-up is so blah to me lol. I may order flower centerpieces or use the Candles they provide as the table centerpiece. I also bought a bunch of turquoise decorative marbles to scatter on the tables but now im debating whether thats going to look a mess or if i should add them to small vases or something.. just curious what others are doing! Thanks!

everheard of the VIP room at strip clubs? Where its a private dance for the guy and yes, i read there is more touching allowed...grrr... i just have all these worst case scenerios in my mind and its driving me crazy! My guy is not like that all, but u never know with all his buddies around and being it is HIS bachelor party, who knows what can happen...

guys, im in the same boat, My guy is going to vegas with all his friends and im worried. =( I mean do any of you guys worry about the so called "innocent fun" they may have with strippers or even the females they meet at the bars/clubs? I mean is it okay for your fiancee to touch a stripper, grab her butt or boobs? I mean i feel like we really don't know what goes on and whatever does happen, its not like we would find out (i dont think), the boys keep to themselves. What is accepatable to you guys? do you plan to tell you guy what you don't want him to do. Is it okay for him to dance/grind on another women? I am sure after the strippers they will be heading to a club in vegas and be surrounded by women. I just don't understand why it seems like guys think its okay to do all this stuff with women on the bachelor party and its okay because its their bachelor party. Thats the other thing that worries me is how much "innocent fun" is he going ot have with these random girls? I mean i know people say is his last whooorah..but does that it means its okay for him to be all up on many women? =(

Hello everyone, My name is Adriana Erazo and I recently found my wedding photographer who is amazing. His name is Samuel Luna. I am getting married at The Royal Playa del Carmen next April 23, 2010 and I wanted to share with you guys my photographer's contact information because I think he is really amazing and hope you guys look into him as your wedding photographer! His name is Samual Luna, he is a destination wedding photographer and has such a really cool, artsy, candid style. His pictures can really capture the emotion of people. I am also recieving an extra photo shoot (either trash the dress session, engagement portraits or rehearsal dinner) that i found that other photographers charge extra for this session but it was included in my package. So i think his pricing is a great deal. He has also won some awards for his photography so that shows you his style is incredible, but his pictures speak for themselves! If anyone reaches out to him, could you please please let me know i referred you (Adriana Erazo) I'm meeting with him in a few weeks so would love to let him know how much i appreciate his work and is referring him to others. He is Amazing, i Promise, you can really feel the emotions in the pictures he takes. Hello kimmy44 & jcooper79 - I see that you guys will be getting married in April next year like me too! Congrats to you both! Do either of you guys worry about the heat and humidity in April? I just came back from The Royal last week, and it was HOT and VERY Humid. My curly hair went crazy and looked a mess all week. I'm now worried what the weather will be like in April and if it will be just as humid then too. Esp. on the wedding day, i dont want a crazy women's hair! lol. Just curious if you guys have thought about this? Thanks!

okay so there are 3 locations and i'll tell you what i think about each to help you decide: Beach area near the pier near pelicanos restaurant: This area is nice becuase the beach area is sooo big and spacious and you feel like you have a lot of room. It can accomodate a larger reception party and people are close to the bathrooms at Pelicanos. Beach area in center: beautiful backdrop of the resort but again, a lot of people walking in this area from the beach to the resort. Beach area in front of gazebo: This area i think is the best because it is the most private area out of the three. not many people will be walking around this area at night. i would have taken this location if it wasnt for the party that was going to be going on in the gazebo. One thing my WC did tell me was, that if it rains alot in the next year, the rain might wash away some of the beach, so if we had a small wedding group, it wouldnt be a problem, but if the beach is smaller becuase of the rains and we have a large group, its best for us to be in the area near the pier since its a much larger beach area. I think the pier was our least favorite just becuase its so close to the pier and random people could just sit and watch - but i guess so be it. thats our spot!

the central beach area i would say has its pros and cons. Pros: it has a beautiful background, you see the whole resort from there, meaning your photos with that in the background would look absolutley gorgeous. Cons: its a high traffic area, so people would be walking to get from the beach back to the resort through that walk way. The Gran Porto really has just the lobby bar and a bar near the pool in like a hut overtop the pool. Depends how many people will attend the welcome drinks, but the lobby bar may be better just becuase it is a bigger area. The Royal has two bars that would be nice areas to have the welcome drinks too - the lobby bar and also the tequila bar which is outside and has a bunch of outdoor patio chairs. Adriana

yea, the royal is gorgeous, your mom has nothing to fear, they will take care of you. As far as the promotion, that was what we were told at the front desk at the gran porto. Since my wedding isnt untill next April, i asked if this promotion is only for a limited time and they said no we always have this. So basically your guests can opt to pay $60 which is for 3 days to be allowed on the royal property. This is great for those people who dont want to pay all that money to actually sleep there but can go visit. any other questions, i will try my best to answer!

Hi Ladies! I just wanted to give everyone a review of some sort since i just came back from the Royal doing our site tour last week. Since half of our guests will be staying at the gran porto and half of the royal, i checked out both resorts. Also checked out the real resort too The Royal - Beautiful! thats all i can say, the grounds are gorgeous, clean, & nice staff. The Gran Porto - Nice resort, saw lots of kids, the resort i found was a lot hotter in the lobby then the Royal. I assume becuase the Royal's lobby is so much bigger more air can flow through. The Real resort - their budget resort - this resort was OK. basically, if your family and friends just want a cheap place to stay, this would be the place. they have a small pool and only one restaurant. We are getting married at the gazebo which was large and beautiful. The reception will be on the beach and i was shown which beach area is where mine will be held. Its the location next to the pier, i was told since we are having 50-60 people that is the best place to put us. She said we have the option to move to the center space of the beach, but its a really high traffic area and recomended we don't go there. The other option was the beach area in front of the gazebo, but she said that night, some other party has resevered a dinner in the gazebo, so we probably wouldnt want to have the reception so close to them. I was able to see the standard set up because they had a wedding one night at the gran porto. However, michellle madrid told me the setup at the gran is not as nice as the royal. The have better lights under the table, not sure what else is the difference. Tiki torches are included in the standard set up too. I think someone asked in the past about the garden area and if the grass was easy to walk on barefoot. The grass is super soft and you would be very comfortable walking around barefoot. I was able to also meet with our vendors. DJ Ivan Gomez - very nice and very professional. He told me he used to work at the royal many years ago and so the staff all know him and he knows his way around the resort, especially with all the weddings he has done there. Photographer - Samuel Luna. I can't say this enough- this guy is awesome! he reallly can deliver high-quality photos for a bargain of a price. He is the same caliber as Del Sol Photography but is more affordable. he was able to walk me thorugh my wedding day and help me decide my timeline and how much time to take photos is needed. I would def. recommend you check out his site Flash Portfolio | Top Mexico Photographers | Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer Samuel Luna and please let him know i referred you to him! Videographer- playa weddings - I met with paul and his wife and they are both super nice people, He walked me through the day and what he was going to do and all his equipment, etc. Michelle Madrd - my wedding coordinator at the royal - Such a nice women, she showed us the property and answered my questions i had. overall experience was great. After seeing both resorts, i would likely push my family and friends to try to stay at the royal if they can afford it. its that much nicer. HOwever, i was also told that they always have this promotion: 3 day minimum for $60 per person gives a guest at the Gran Porto access to the Royal 24 hours. So they can come to the royal pool and hang out. One other thing worth mentioning, since the beach is a public beach, anyone staying at the gran porto can simply walk over the royal side of the beach and hang out no problem. The only thing they cannot do is lie down on the lounger chairs or order any drinks from the royal waitstaff. anyways, there is my review, hope this helps some! i am super excited for my wedding next year and i know i have made the right choice to have it at the Royal. Hi Violetmal, your pictures are awesome and you look so pretty! congrats again! Did you get your hair and makeup done at the salon on the resort? If so, did you like how they did it or would you recommend getting your makeup and hair somewhere else? Also, I've been told the reception on the beach has to end at 11pm, do they really enforce this rule? Is someone from the resort there waiting to end the party right at 11pm? What time did you guys end ? Thanks so much! Adriana
