We are in the same situation as you, we are having our wedding at the Palma Real and not everyone can afford it so some of our guests are staying at the NH next door. My fiance wanted to spend time at the same hotel as his friends so we are actually staying at the NH with them for 2 days before the wedding and then moving over to the Palma. We are going to pay the guest fee for the guests to come over the day of the wedding obviously but I am not concerned about the other days. I am sure going back and forth between the two hotel pools and especially the beaches will not be a problem, the only thing you won't be able to do is eat meals together but even at the buffet they might not notice the bracelets so you might be fine. I know the ideal is for everyone to stay at the same hotel but it will work out!!!

Hi NH Brides, I am getting married at the Palma Real however a bunch of my guests are staying at the NH as are my finance and I a few days before the wedding so that we can spend time at the same hotel as our guests. We are actually going to have our welcome cocktail reception at the NH but since I am not having my wedding there I don't know any of the locations to have it. Does anyone have a good suggestion for where we can hold this? Thanks!!

I have been to Punta Cana twice in the past 2 years and I am going next year for my wedding. I LOVE Punta Cana. I have been to a few islands: Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bahamas..and I by far like the DR the best. The weather is always nice, the beaches are great, everyone is super friendly, and their all inclusive hotels allow you to eat and drink the whole time you are there and the food is good. Not 5 star dining but you won't starve that is for sure. I would recommend Punta Cana to anyone for vacation and especially to get married! Good Luck!

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if you can mix and match from the cheaper packages? I am going with the Aqua package but I do not like the aqua table cloths, I like the ones from the Fantasy package. As the Fantasy is cheaper I would think I could just use the linens from there but do you think they will charge for that?

Hi ladies, I am doing the aqua package. I was a little concerned about the linens actually as I was not sure if aqua would look cheesy but after seeing the pictures I am not as worried. I also really like how they include lining the aisle with something, this is not something that I saw at some of the other resorts. Does anyone know how much extra it would cost though if I wanted to change the plates from clear to white? Thanks!

Hi Everyone, Are there any brides out there that got married at the PPR and have some pictures of the different set up options, center pieces, etc? I am doing the Aqua package and am interested to see more pictures of what it i looks like as I have only seen a few. I am also interested to see what they give you to put on the table with that package. Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!

The rate was quite expensive so we are having some guests stay at NH right next door if they do not want to pay the higher rate. We have not done anything with airfare yet, you have to wait until 330 days before at least.

My fiance and I are getting married in the states the Saturday before our wedding in the DR. We are having it at our apartment in front of close friends and family. Either way you do it it will be beautiful!

Taxchick, I am getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real. I had the same concerns as you did about the price but the hotel is just so beautiful and I want everything to be perfect so we are going for it! They take such good care of you there and are so responsive and will cater to whatever you want unlike some of the other resorts where you have to pick from their set options. As for the price, we are giving our guests the option of staying at the PPR or the NH which is right next door. The NH was just redone and it is beautiful as well as much more affordable. I think the rate in March for 3 nights double occupancy is like $540. We are going to have to pay for a day pass the day of our wedding for the guests to come over to the PPR but the beaches are public and no one is really going to stop you if you go back and forth between the hotels. They are also so close to each other. Most of the guests that are staying at the NH are our friends and my fiance and I are actually staying there a few nights before the wedding so that we can spend some time at the same hotel as them since that is why they are coming down to see us!!! I am getting married March 28, 2010 and we just put deposits down all all of our guests rooms. We are less than a year away now so hotel rates are out and they are pretty good right now considering the economy. I do not know what flights are going to run yet however I went to the DR on vacation last year and JFK to Punta Cana was about $400 round trip!
