Other than the 15 month old daughter, I am in the exact same situation! I just read the post to my boyfriend and he said, "Are you sure you didn't write that?" haha. We are definitely not crazy, we just want to be prepared, right! I am hoping my bf will pop the question in June... but like you said, he really wants to surprise me.. sooner the better though! Great idea for a thread! I am completely stumped.. I have changed my mind about 50 times! I definitely think this is the hardest part. I had my heart set on Dreams Tulum.. but I think it will be too expensive for my guests. After reading this thread, I am going to do some research on Gran Bahia Principe since it's getting some great reviews! Is it considered a "budget-friendly" resort?

I am in the same boat ladies! I was in the process of deciding which month to have my wedding (narrowed it down to Feb/Mar/April)... The TA told me that February is most expensive, then March, then April.. (not counting holidays, where the prices go way up) So therefore I am going with late April. I am hoping to find a resort where my guests will only have to pay 1200-1500 for the week....fingers crossed! I have emailed the TA to let me know of a few nice yet budget friendly resorts in the Mayan Riviera area.. so I will share them when she replies! I am so impatient!

I am having the same issues with quotes from TA's being extremely high! I was hoping that my guests would be paying a maximum of $1500-1700 for 1 week. Maybe that was wishful thinking! I had to rule out Dreams Tulum out because of the cost, and I am currently waiting for a TA to get back to me with pricing for Barcelo Maya and also a list of more affordable resorts.

This Thread is awesome!! I am hoping to be married in Feb 2010. I have become slightly obsessed with researching resorts...haha... I would LOVE to be married at Dreams Tulum, but I think my guests will find it a little pricey. I went on a one-week vacation to Barcelo Maya Beach in Feb this year, and I absolutely loved it.. So I am seriouslty considering that resort as well. Since it is made up of 5 resorts varying from affordable to more expensive, this allows the guests to book according to their budget. Can't wait to confirm a location/date, so I can get to the fun stuff like decorations, invitations, etc.
