KittenHeart, Did your contact at the resort say anything about having over 40 people for your Spoon restaurant dinner? I noticed it says 46 booked on your signature. I think we will have closer to 50 and I am hoping they will still let us use that. Otherwise, we lose the whole thing!! How ridiculous is that?

Jillian Harris is the new Bachelorette!!

I'll come back with some more info! Please, please give us juicy details!! -
I boycotted DB for my wedding because of past experiences (I have been a bridesmaid 7 times). The most notable was my soon to be sister-in-law's wedding. Our BM dresses were a 2 piece - strapless top and tea length skirt in chocolate. I am in a different city so I went in to try on and order my dress. The girl looked up the style number in the computer, I tried it on, and paid for it. About 6 weeks later I get a phone call that says "Hi, we just got both of your skirts in." The girl didn't believe that I hadn't ordered 2 freaking skirts - I ordered a skirt and a top! Then she blamed me for ordering it wrong!! Like I was the one who put the order in the computer. So they order the top - wait, it gets better. They call again to say it is in, I go to pick it up and try it on and notice something isn't right...the top was supposed to be strapless and it was a halter. They ordered the wrong one. Nice. They finally had to rush the order for the right top because here it was 10 weeks later and the wedding was coming up. They suck!! Another time I went in there they made my friend feel like an alien. She has really big boobs and the lady just kept going on and on about them. "You are BY FAR the largest breasted girl I have EVER worked with" and "It would be a miracle if we have a bra in your size." She left there crying. I will NEVER be a DB customer. On a positive note (not for them) I had a fantastic experience at Alfred Angelo Bridal. My decision was between a Maggie Soterro from a bridal boutique and one for half the price at AA. I showed pictures of me in both to a lot of people and they all agreed that the AA dress looked the best - without even knowing the designer labels or price! The sales team there is amazing, very attentive, pulling dresses they thought would look great on me. I highly recommend them if you are still looking

Groomsmen Gifts
Shandalier replied to weez's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We may have decided exactly what we are doing. My FI and all his GMs are huge UT football fans so we are looking into getting them all tickets to a game. They can make it a boys night out or something. Just a thought... -

I am so freaking bummed that Jeanette went home! I really liked her!! -
Katken, They are beautiful!! Your photographer did an amazing job! I sent it to my photog for her to get an idea of what we want. Did you do your TTD the day after the wedding at sunset? We are doing ours the day after but were scheduled during the day. After seeing yours, I am definitely rethinking that.

Groomsmen Gifts
Shandalier replied to weez's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We are also having that issue. I didn't even think of any of these creative ideas! We were thinking of doing something not so tangible, like paying for all the boys to go on an ATV excursion or something. My FI also has all the typical GM gifts so we don't want to do that. -
Which dress do you like better?

I like option A. It's beautiful!! -

I would be okay if Kupono went home! I know Kayla is a really great dancer but for some reason she has always rubbed me the wrong way...I don't know what it is about her. -

I was also shocked to see Adae and Melissa in the bottom below Randi and Evan. If he were in the bottom he for sure would have gone home. Thanks for posting tour dates - there's one in Austin!! -

Meghan, One other thing you might consider is posting a thread on here to see if someone else might want to share the cost of getting a photographer down there. If your wedding is Friday and theirs is Saturday (or something like that) it might work out where you could share :-)

For our photographer, we negotiated to pay for her airfare and 3 nights at the resort. It comes to about $900 (the flights from DFW are only about $300). She is going to bring her husband and they are paying for him. The actual photo package we are getting is around $3700. It includes an taking pictures at an engagement session, welcome reception, getting ready, ceremony, reception, and TTD session. Plus we're getting a big coffee table album for us and 2 smaller ones for each set of parents, a video montage thing, and a CD with all the pics. I think we got an awesome deal!!

The 2 options I was given was Caribe Photos and Matias Cano Photo - and that was at least 4 months ago! They told me then that there weren't any other options so now I am mad that this Claudia was an option for me. I asked here on the boards about them but didn't get much response back. Neither of them seem very creative or artistic. On each of the websites, they have a wedding gallery but nothing jumps out. One of them even has a girl with a glass of champagne and a cigarette! Why would they use that as one of their "big seller" photos? Anyway, these are the 2 photographers listed on the website. We decided it was important enough to take our photographer with us and have her stay as a guest. It ended up being close to the same amount of money and I think we are getting a better deal. She is going to be taking pictures practically all weekend instead of just the ceremony and reception.

Trust me, I have seen some of the raunchy girls that my guy friends have taken home in Austin. Those are the kinds of girls that I can see Wes hooking up with. -
I hate to hear that some of you are having so many problems!! A destination wedding is supposed to be carefree and it sounds like a lot of your families are making it a pain for you! Whenever I start whining about who isn't coming, my FI reminds me that the only thing that matters is that the 2 of us are there. He's right! As long as it's the two of you, it will be perfect! Quote: Originally Posted by Katie_2010 also, has anyone on here not yet had their actual wedding date confirmed?? I wouldn't be panicking so much if we weren't restricted to just one date during our 2 week stay - my mum and brother are only coming for a week and once you've taken into account the 3 full days you have to be there before you can get married (and the national holiday in our first week) that only leaves one date before they go home. arrrggghhhhh!!!! sorry...my turn to offload! lol Katie. Katie, Did you pay that $200 deposit for the wedding package? When we were booking back in January I kept asking my TA if the sunset wedding was available on our date. She told me the resort wouldn't even check for me until they got our $200 deposit. Once we got that in, it went pretty quickly. I am blessed to have a TA who works really hard and stays on the resort about everything constantly!

I am getting so excited (even though we are still almost 3 months away). Katken, is the ground in the new plaza okay to go barefoot on? It's not sand is it? But is it tough gravel? Thanks! Shanda

I agree that he was ready to go this week! What a creeper line saying, "If it's me, I'll be at home having lots of sex." What girl would want to come near him now that all of America knows he is such an ass?! -

DFW brides, Just wanted to let you know that my mom is a florist in Crowley and half of her store is a Worn Once bridal store. She sells all dresses on consignment, meaning you just get to keep it there until it sells and the store gets a percentage of it. PM me if you want the details. I have been a bridesmaid 7 times and sold almost all my dresses there. I also got my TTD dress there for super cheap!

"So You Think You Can Dance" Summer 2009
Shandalier replied to ~*Kathy*~'s topic in Celebrity Gossip!
I am so pumped to have found this thread! I absolutely love the show so here's my thoughts so far... **Glad to see Vitolio go! I wouldn't have been sad if it was Kupono either but I definitely didn't want Philip to get kicked off. **I loved Karla! She was also on America's Best Dance Crew in the Boogie Bots - a hip hop group (this may have already been discussed but I only got through the first 8 pages of the thread :-) I think she got shafted with partners, first with Jonathan who was really young and a weak dancer overall. Then she got Vitolio - he just gets under my skin for some reason!! **I think Brandon is amazing! I can't wait for him and Mia to work together because of how much crap she has given him. I love her work but I also never understood how she didn't think he was that good! When I first saw him last season I thought he was a little iron man. **One of my favorite girls is the ballet dancer, Melissa! She is the oldest but she is so refreshing to watch Now that I found this, I'll keep posting! See you all on Wednesday! Shanda -

Yeah I think Kiptyn will be there in the end too. Is it me or are all the guys really hesitant this season? It seems like in the past, the guys have been more head over heels. Seems like none of these guys will propose - maybe Ed...or maybe it's just how they are making it look. Good Riddance, Wes! I hope his career tanks now that people have seen what a douche bag he is!! -

Do you have any pictures yet? I want to get an idea of what we need. We bought some from Garden Ridge but I think we got the wrong color so we will be returning them. Also, did you do the battery operated or just plug them in? We are getting so close! It feels like it is just sneaking up on us!
