WELL LADIES.. I talked to Natalia via email. She said the date I wanted is available but now only at noon. I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR A WHILE NOW and I totally got screwed. UGGGGHH! I have to have a 3pm-ish wedding because I want it to flow into night for my reception. I am sooo bummed. I guess Ill go on to my 2nd requested date and hope that one works. GRRRRR On a good note: I am happy to say I have EVERYTHING underway! Bridesmaid dresses, colors, centerpiece idea, invites narrowed down, a few dresses I CANT wait to check out.. and even my programs. CAN WE SAY SPAZ? hahaa

Wow.. LoL Ill try to be understanding. Im just so anxious and eager. I have every small detail worked out in my head and I think my mind might explode if I dont begin to do something hahahah.. Keep in mind.. I am looking at a end oct/nov-ish 2010 wedding too. I KNOW I HAVE TIME but you guys can understand how I feel. hahaha.

RE: BOOKING with the worlds busiest wedding coordinators. I have been waiting a wk for someone to get back to me re: my wedding booking. I have had my heart set on a date for over a yr now and as time strolls on by I JUST KNOW someone either snagged it or will. I really dont want to have to call but at this pt I guess I will have to. I read on here that they are hard to get a hold of but I didnt think it would be to this extreme. Its very frustrating... I emailed all 3 links on this site hahaha. PSYCHO?? haha, I DONT CARE. Anywho.. Just a vent sorry. lol

We had out engagement party last May (we got engaged April 7th 200 and IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN!! We partied til 1am...! Basically, it was held at a mexican rest we go to all the time. Luckily for us we know the owners and they set up a special deal for us. We had a buffet with the option to buy a wristband aka OPEN BAR for $20 a person. I know thats a major steal and ppl were happy to do it esp when the food was free. It was on a Sunday so it was a private party but the MONDAY was Memorial Day so ppl could go out without worrying about work. We got a lot of gifts which we told everyone NOT TO BRING GIFTS!! They were nice gifts though, wedding books, spa treatment for our "Stressful" planning, gift cards, cash, picture frames, wedding albums, etc.. We sent out Thank you cards as if it was any other occasion. Our biggest reason for the party ***which my sister threw, with our help*** was so the 2 families could meet. We are from completely different backgrounds and we thought this would be a relaxed way for us to break the ice. Granted we are super close but our families havent had the chance to meet yet... THE PARTY ITSELF was awesome. We had a dj, cake, food, drinks and decor. I made my own invites hahaa because I am one crafty lady but it all worked out great. The rest was already decorated for the most part so I just had them bring balloons and we had a nice banner made that said CONGRATS.. etc.. and a cake made. I think it varies on each family. Noone I know had an actual engagement party. If anything, we met the night whoever got engaged at a local bar and had drinks to celebrate. For our families our way was ideal. We also had the party without worry because we knew we wouldnt have a wedding anytime soon. I think having an engagement party only a few months before a wedding is slightly tacky... esp when you have a bridal and personal shower. ITs screams ME ME ME.. GIFTS GIFTS GIFTS lol. Well, not all cases but I know I would be like WOW.. if I had to go to all those events within a few months. Anyway, have fun!! Congrats!

I must say Ladies.. I am utterly amazed at the weddings you have had. It makes me sooo much more excited and reassured that I made the right decision with Dreams!! I am a bit of a stickler for detail and am PLEASED to see how well they worked with (most) of you in planning your wedding!! We want a summer wedding in Mexico due to our time frame here but I am too scared to risk the hurricane season. haha. ITS MY LUCK, TRUST ME!~ I am thinking EARLY EARLY November 2010. I want a BEACH reception but the ceremony is still up in the air. Its either beach or the chapel which I hear is small and hot but its OH SO BEAUTIFUL. I can guestimate that we will have approx 50+ ppl attending. Its more than I want, trust me but we have big familes and a lot of friends. (((If I had it my way, we would have like 25 ppl))) In that case we cant have the chapel but I like to explore my options. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for all your feedback and ideas. Its great being able to see HONEST feedback vs. a vendors feedback. *****Question on PAST NOVEMBER WEDDINGS: Was the weather nice?? I was in Cancun for New Years one year and the weather was horrrrrrrible. I was curious to see if anyone was effected by the end of the "rainy season" (( I apolgize if someone posted this but frankly I cant sit through 130 diff pages hahah to research)) I would like to have my wedding on the 30th of Oct actually.. so OCT feedback will be much appreciated as well. Dreams Tulum is my 1st choice and I BETTER get it. =) I am super excited to finally marry my Mister Wonderful. I look fwd to all the information I can gain by using the forum.
