  1. Also, maybe your guests could stay at a less-expensive resort, and just pay the fee to come onto the resort for the day of your wedding?
  2. My only must-attend guests are my parents and my FI's parents...everyone else would be a blessing, but having a DW has always been my plan. For us, it will be far LESS expensive to get married in Jamaica that it would be to do it at home, so since we're paying for it, that was the key deciding factor for us. I say do the DW if it's your dream, but then have an AHR to share with those that could not attend due to time/budget constraints!
  3. Lisa -- I would suggest something delicate, so as not to compete with the straps on your dress. Take another look at what SugaredViolets is wearing; I think that would be the perfect compliment to your beautiful dress!
  4. To echo the others, I would say that you should consider yourself lucky and can be thrilled that you are "done" your planning phase already! Are you having an AHR? Maybe you could plan a casual Send-Off or something like a Friends & Family BBQ for after you return. Might be a fun way to share your experience with those that didn't attend...just a thought if you want to stay busy! Half the appeal of a DW is that it can be a super low-stress way to go...how great that you can just ENJOY the rest of your engagement time with your FI!
  5. Yea! FUN THREAD! Since there is a design on my dress that has 3 horizontal ribbons (spaced about a 1/2 inch apart all the way around near the bottom), I wanted to find a pearl tiara/headpiece to match, and I ended up getting a coordinating set of earrings, necklace and bracelet with it! I found these on a site called Beady Eyes Designs by a woman named Jane Carter in the UK. She's a joy to deal with, and her prices were awesome! I got everything below for $130 USD, including international shipping costs! Here's a link to her site if anyone is interested: Wedding jewellery & Pearl tiara or Crystal tiara - Beady Eyes Here's my headpiece (actually, it's called a headband, but I'll be wearing it like a tiara): And here is my matching necklace, bracelet, and earrings: Now if only it were May 2010 so I could wear them already!
  6. Good luck in your search, Cassondra! I'm tellin you, $99 max was my limit for a TTD dress, and eBay has a lot to choose from -- be sure to post if you find something!
  7. I'm officially 100% green with envy -- what a perfect way to capture your wedding adventure! I am even more psyched to do my TTD now, too -- you and your DH looked incredibly in love and like you were having the time of your lives! And, I agree -- the HERMIT CRAB was a hit! Adorable!
  8. I saw the Roman Gazebo in pics on the Sandals site (the red and white one above titled "Gazebo overlooking the water" and I fell in LOVE! I think it is gorgeous the way it is...and don't feel as though it will really need any decorations, since it's so picturesque on it's own (meaning my budget loves it, too!) I'm 99% sure that is where I want to have my ceremony at SGOR (but I will have to wait and see what it's like when the on-site WC takes the FI and I around when we get there!)
  9. YOU will love everyone in this forum...I HAVE! Best wishes, sweetie!
  10. LADIES! I can't wait! I feel like a kid at Christmas...as soon as it gets here, I'll post pics of me in it! Wooo, I sooo can't wait!
  11. Is the nightmare over, then? I sure hope so, sweetie! If not, we're all here for you, whatever time of day or night....you will always find love and hugs a second away!
  12. Congratulations! I checked out your previous post with the poll and I absolutely think you made the right decision -- you look beautiful and your FI will be breathless!
  13. Just heard about it; so sorry to hear that for all of you girls getting married in Mexico in the near future! Fingers crossed that everything will work out ok...
  14. Amazing job! Looks like it was professionally done, too -- you should now consider yourself "crafty"!
  15. Maybe you could call around to a few dry cleaners and ask them for their expert opinions on how well satin cleans-up after submersion in water? That might be helpful in deciding what you want to do... And there is always the option of finding a dirt-cheap dress just for the TTD session. I just got a dress on ebay for $75, making me another 3 DRESS BRIDE (I also have a regular gown for the ceremony, and a shorter dress for the reception)! I thought it was worth it to avoid any drama over trashing my real dress! Good luck!
  16. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Option #1! I agree with everyone that said they look more "wedding" than the other choices...
  17. Thanks, Savannah! I'm pumped to get it in the mail -- I'll be sure to post pics of myself in it so everyone can take a look!
  18. P.S. Linda -- I am getting married in Jamaica, as well! Let me know whatever questions you have! (Oh, and it's most likely to rain at 4 pm!)

  24. INDEED, MarieSam! But they just don't seem to give out awards to the everyday grunts like us, do they? Where's our awards ceremony?
  25. THANKS, CHICAS! You've all made me feel GREAT about something I was really unsure of... Love and HUGS to you all!
