I initially considered wearing something beachy, and then went for a full BALLGOWN! I say go whichever way your heart tells you to go when it comes to your dress...regardless of where you are having your ceremony (be it on the beach or in a church at home), I think ALL BRIDES should wear the gown that makes them feel the most glamorous and like a total bridal beauty!

Bling, Bling, BLING! Check out those rings!!! Karla, they are just beautiful.... Your e-ring and your band are classic and completely elegant, and I adore how your FI's ring mirrors yours! How pretty they will look side-by-side when you take pics on them on a beautiful backdrop like some exotic flowers, and when you get the obligatory 1st shots of your hands together after you become husband and wife! CONGRATS -- how excited you must be!

WOOOO-HOOOO! Wow, what a transformation! You are indeed a very Foxy Bride! YOU LOOK MAGNIFICENT, and not only can I not believe that she was able to take the dress from a 12 to a 2, it actually looks like it was made from scratch to fit your amazing figure! SUCCESS IS SWEET!! Your seamstress deserves an award, a medal, or SOMETHING for goodness sake(!) to celebrate her amazing accomplishment here, because it is certainly warranted!

Oh, WOW!!! The magic of the BDW sisterhood does it again!! How incredibly LUCKY for you that not only was Jessica able to tell you what designer makes your dress, but she also included the link to the thread where she has it on herself, and you get to see how beautiful it looks on a real bride! Ugh!!! FORGET THEM, HOLLY!!! I had the EXACT same reaction from my OWN mother when I told her I was doing a TTD, but then after I bought a $75 dress to use instead of planning on using the dress she'd bought for me, she's come around and warmed up to the idea. I think a lot of people all across the country are just starting of hear of the TTD concept for the first time, and after they get over the initial shock, then they think, "hey, that sounds like it would be pretty cool...wish I would have done that!" YOU do what works for you and your FI, despite the meddling in-laws-to-be! It's YOUR day, YOUR dress and YOUR decision, my sweet!

I am also getting married at Sandals, and for these very reasons (SUPER HIGH prices, low photo quality, poor customer service regarding photography, etc.), my fiance and I have booked a photographer off the resort to do the bulk of our photos. We will just be purchasing the (6) 8 x 10 photos for $150 and the $500 DVD from Sandals of the ceremony itself, and that's it for our photo budget going to Sandals. I couldn't see spending thousands of dollars for sub-par photography when a professional off-resort photographer was an affordable alternative. Brian Nejedly is an American Photographer that lives in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and he's agreed to have his associate do a 3-hour combination portrait/TTD photo session for us for only a little over $1000! I am pretty sure we are going to end up with at least 100 digital negatives, so we feel like we got the deal of the century....and will end up with photos we can be proud of and enjoy for years to come! Hope my suggestion to do a little research on local photographers in the area near your resort (and then go off the resort for a photo session) does the trick!
