DAMN! Whatta week, huh?!?! CONGRATULATIONS and I adore your story...I just had to share it with my FI and neither of us are buying the "it wasn't rigged!" part, either! But what is most AWESOME is that your FI most likely already had it planned for ages, so in steps fate to put an exclamation mark on what he may have already planned! What a wonderful tale to tell for years to come. P.S. Way to go on your passing your prelim. PhD exams! Smart chicks are sexy indeed!

Post pics of your Wedding Cake!

Much like the original poster GeminiLibra, I also wanted something totally different, but then when I went through this thread again, my eyes completely opened to this chic, beautiful cake! I just showed it to my FI, and he's fully on-board with doing this cake...the only difference is I want the flowers to match my bouquet, instead of the green cymbidium orchids shown here. So you know what my flowers look like, here they are so you can envision them on the cake! I think it will look magnificent! -
Fruit Centerpieces

WOW - great site suggestion, Sue! And Danyelle...if you're getting married here in the States, maybe check out Edible Arrangements at Floral Fruit Baskets & Gourmet Gift Bouquets by Edible Arrangements ®. They are sort of costly, but maybe not so bad if you can work with them to do something small for each table. Hope this helps! -
SOOOOOO Super glad that everything turned out for the best, and your flowers are gorgeous!!! I wonder if there is something behind the name of the company, though? Is it "bitter" to have to be on pins and needles nervously waiting, and then "sweet" to see what your flowers will ultimately look like?! Either way, it seems to have been super sweet for you in the end -- CONGRATS~!

Oh! And Dia....THANKS SO MUCH for posting such beautiful pics -- they are going to be so very helpful to the girls who aren't quite sure what they have in mind. And who knows? They might decide to have something exactly like one of the bouquets you've suggested, and you will have played such an important role in the selection process!

Lil Reeves, how inspired! Love your choice of bouquet, and how different your bridesmaids' bouquets will be from your own (as in, all one color palette). Additionally, I am seriously diggin' the bouts and I am sure your FI and his groomsmen will be ecstatic that they are not wearing something pink or at all "girly"...they are as masculine as flowers can be in the most tasteful, artistic way!

Perfectly polished and totally professional looking! STELLAR JOB, JOANN! Wow...who knew a little creativity and time well spent could result in such an amazing DIY invitation-transformation! You've given the brides of the world hope that amazing feats can be accomplished when they put their minds and a little thought into whatever projects they embark on! KUDOS to you on a job VERY well done!

Why Miss Autumn, I do declare! Well done, darlin'!! They're AMAZING, and I would have completely thought you had paid a fortune for them! I also love the faint Texas flag in the background of the AHR invites...the flair of an American state's flag is a welcome, lovely contrast to the decidedly Mexican flavor of the "Pasaporte" invites! Way to get in there and get it done in fabulous DIY-style!

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! And to echo the other girls, the compass idea is a brilliant way to spotlight the fact that you're having a DW and people are coming from all different directions to be there and share your big day! Oh, and the fact that you created it yourself?! MAGNIFICENT! You can be especially proud when you receive all of the compliments surely coming your way!

THEY'RE INCREDIBLE!!! Wow, and I can honestly say I've never seen the "petal fold" idea before! Pocketfold, yes, but nothing quite as innovative/interesting as your invitations turned out! CONGRATS and I am sure all of your guests are tickled "pink"....and orange, while you're at it (just like your beautiful colors!)

You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!! My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY! And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process...a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen! CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning heaven!

You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!! Great decision to go with Jamaica by the way...but I'm a little bit biased since I am getting married at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios in beautiful Ocho Rios, Jamaica in May 2010!
