THANKS, GIRLS!! And even though we knew it would happen when we sent invitations to certain people that we sort of thought wouldn't be able to come (some "no" RSVPS are already coming in), for me it still feels really great to know that I sent out something I am proud of...that sort of gives people a feeling of what the wedding would have been like, if they would have been able to attend, you know?

second guess your dress?

Girl, I have 3 gowns too, so I hope you don't feel that badly now!!! I also completely admit that I jumped the gun, and purchased my 1st gown about 1 month after we got engaged last August. Then, after thinking about it for close to a year, I decided to wear that for our AHR and go with my heart. I bought another gown for the ceremony that was 3X more expensive, but is in every sense of the word my "dream" gown -- even my mother loves it! And then of course, I had to get a $75 cheapie dress off of eBay for my TTD, because I am thinking I want to literally "trash" or throw away the dress instead of bringing home a damp, sandy mess in a trashbag after the TTD shoot! All I've got to say is really get whatever will make you the most happy, but also keep in mind what Suzy said about at some point we all need to stop looking, just like we've all stopped looking for other men now that we've found our fiances! -

Not sure where I am going to get one from, but the prices in the bridal stores are pretty unreal for a simple piece of tulle! Diane, that flower is really beautiful the veil is going to look awesome with it! Anyone have suggestions of sellers with a good selection/quality? HUGS to you, Stephanie!!! Thank you for your sweet words about my new gown/veil ensemble...I really liked my first one, but just didn't get that "I'm a bride" feeling we all crave until I found my new gown! The pic is from when I went to try on the sample, and my actual gown came in after only one month (they said it could take up to 4 long months!), so I am excited to go and try it on in my size on Oct. 17 -- next weekend with my Mom and FMIL! And, I know what you mean about veils costing a fortune for the itty-bitty amount of material they are made of, too! I think the one I got recently from the bridal salon (the single tier cathedral with no embellishments) was still $90, and the ribbon-edge fingertip from David's was an outrageous $130! So, in hopes that you might find something that you love that doesn't break the bank, here are links to 2 different stores online that I thought had really decent pricing (starting around $30 or so) for a wide variety of veils styles, and lengths. The only thing I can't speak to is the quality, but atleast it might be worth checking out: Standard Wedding Veils Wedding Veils | Bridal Veils | Cathedral Veil | Veils | Wedding Mantilla | Lace Veils | Wedding Tiaras | Inexpensive Wedding Veils | Bridal Jewelry | Bridal Tiara | Wedding Headpieces | Bridal Headpieces | Custom Veils | Veil And of course for those interested in a whole slew of hair flowers, here's the link to Etsy, if it hasn't been added on here yet: bridal hair flowers on Etsy, a global handmade and vintage marketplace. HAPPY SHOPPING, girls! -
OMG -- my vote's for DRESS #3!!! Wow, is that ever classy and beautiful on you! Who's the designer, by the way? Sort of looks like a Maggie dress, and since you also tried on Reece, I thought maybe it was... At any rate, don't worry if you don't get that "it's the one" feeling, or if no one cries when you are trying on dresses (I didn't cry and no one with me did, either!). You look fantastic in them all, so maybe make your decision by the level of physical comfort you felt? That'd be one way to weed a few out! GOOD LUCK and I can't wait to see what you choose in the end!

Ooooh, Lara -- I LOVE birdcage veil #2!! It's really chic and sophisticated looking, and I think it will look beautiful on you! And since no one else has posted their veils yet, I thought I'd jump in an post both of mine! (I had bought one dress & veil, which I will now wear for our AHR, and then had a change of heart and got a different gown & veil for the ceremony) so here are pictures of both! I know these photos are up on the forum elsewhere already, but here they are again for veil-posting purposes! Here is my ceremony gown (Sottero & Midgley RSM1038 ) and the single-tier cathedral veil with no embellishments: And here is the original gown I bought at David's Bridal (style T8792) with matching 2-tier, fingertip length, satin ribbon-edge veil that I'll be wearing for my AHR: I think anyone who is undecided as to whether or not to wear a veil, just consider this -- it is the only time in your life when you can wear one and not look silly, so I say go for it!!! In my opinion, nothing says "Here comes the BRIDE!" more that a beautiful girl, in a gorgeous gown, finished with a fabulous veil.... -

I checked out the link and that looks sooooo much like the gown in the video -- way to help out a fellow BDW sister in her time of need! And you can't beat that price, either -- most VEILS alone cost $149.00, for goodness sake, so that's a steal!

So....I see this dress might have everyone stumped (due to the lack of answers you've gotten)! I'm sorry -- that's an awful feeling to really love a gown and you have no idea who it's by! Well, even though it's NOT the same gown in the YouTube video, I thought I'd send you a link to check out something else in the black-n-white motif that might be of interest. The dress is "Anne Marie" by Maggie Sottero, and it's got the black but still looks VERY bridal.... Anne Marie - by Maggie Sottero Good luck, and I hope that helps!

Like I said, we just tried to keep it pretty basic with a little bit of a DW-esque flair, and we wanted to incorporate "One Love" somehow since that seems to be the unofficial slogan of Jamaica (thanks to Bob Marley and his famous song)! Oh, and I checked out the site Michele recommended and Verse It is really great, as well!

My dress on me!
islandbride317 replied to damaris's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
The word "WOW" doesn't even begin to describe it......I just can't find the words! You look ridiculously AMAZING in this stunner of a gown! IT WAS MADE FOR YOU, pretty lady!!! -
Just had to say.....my FI just paid for the balance of my Dream DRESS!!! My mom put down the deposit, and with everyday bills and things, money has been a little tight, and I was going to come up a few hundred dollars short! He knew how much this dress means to me, and when the 60 day mark after we ordered it approached (and the hefty remainder was due to the bridal salon or we would lose the inital deposit), he figured out a way to make sure that there was no way I would lose my beloved gown and now it's paid in full! IT'S MINE! HE IS TRULY MY PRINCE CHARMING!! I just hope that I can look like his Cinderella in the gown he helped make happen on our Big Day!

No; I am (sad to admit) afraid of bugs that are really big....and fly! I don't trust them. Would you ever drive more than 2 hours (one way) to work everyday?

For me, it's a toss up between Rachel McAdams (WHO COULDN'T love her in The Notebook?) and Anne Hathaway (she had me at The Devil Wears Prada)! Being a blond, it's funny I sooooo love 2 brunettes, but maybe that's some inner voice saying perhaps brunettes have more fun after all?!?

I was in the same predicament! Here's what we did... We didn't include anything about parents in our invitation, since we are paying for the bulk of the wedding ourselves, and actually, my mother and I came up with the following, simple but elegant wording: One love. Two hearts. Their future starts, beside the sea. The honor of your presence is requested At the marriage ceremony of (Fill in your name here) And (Fill in the groom's name here) On (Fill in the date spelled out) At (Fill in the time spelled out) (Name of the resort) (Name of Town, Country in which wedding is taking place) It was just really clean, and we thought it was gracious in the fact that was more general, as opposed to saying that John and I were doing the inviting specifically. Hope that helps!
