My FI and I were having this debate also. He felt really strongly that we needed to have a DJ to make it more fun and active. In the end, it was my FI that won We have no booked a DJ for the wedding.

I went by myself first also and I loved it! It was much easier to try on a ton of dresses that I liked because there was no one saying that they didn't like it. You can always have someone go with you when you need to narrow it down. I ended up having my FMIL and FSIL go with me for the final decision and I am glad I did. I find that it was more relaxing that I had already gone through some of it and now they were just there to help me decide on the final one. It is overwhelming to have people start from the beginning.

I also decided to go with Elizabeth Medina because her pictures are not just regular pictures. I am looking forward to my wedding and seeing how my pics turn out!

I say just get a dress that makes you feel beautiful. This is a one time event and sometimes you have to put your happiness in front. I say splurge on the dress---cut back on other stuff. the dress will be in the pictures from now on.

Hi Girls, I had my invitations made by someone on Etsy---we thought about making our own but it would be time consuming so we had to weigh the cost/time scales. we should be getting our invitations this week! I hope they turn out okay.

Hi Everyone, Great Response! So yes we will have it on September 11th (if the date is going to be an issue for anyone since we all live in NYC we have a closer connection with that date) then let me know and we can move it to the following Friday. If anyone feels it wouldn't be appropriate for that day, don't hesitate to say so---I think for our group everyone would understand. I didn't realize the date it would be until after Karen pointed it out.

Okay we need to narrow things down...what about after labor day? I feel like my time is much more open after the official end of summer. What about the Friday after Labor day?

Okay Everyone, I had set up a link to see who from the NYC area wanted to meet up and no one replied! So When does everyone want to get together? i was thinking maybe August? We can meet up for a nice happy hour on either a Thursday or a Friday. Let me know when everyone's availability is. Also if anyone has a place they know is good, give suggestions. I am open to anything.

totally blind faith for me. I picked the location from the reviews on this website! I have been to Riviera Maya and remember the beautiful water in Tulum so I knew I wanted something close. I think that makes it fun! I also just couldn't spend the extra money to go down beforehand. I also wanted to act quickly.
