Hi everyone! I just wanted to say and introduce myself. My name is Christine and my fiances name is Kevin. I joined this forum last year but have not been on since. We had a hard time deciding where to do our wedding. We originally planned on Mexico but then thought we wanted something at home but once we looked into having a wedding closer to home, we just could not justify the costs. We are now back to our original plan of a destination wedding. Right now we are debating between Secrets Maroma Beach or the new Secrets Wild Orchid in Jamaica. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Amanda. I am also a winter 2010 bride. We are getting married at Secrets Maroma beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Its a great resort. There are lots of great resorts in that area and lots of great ideas on the sub-forums.

We are planning our ceremony for 3pm. We are doing it in December though so the sun sets a earlier than July. We are also planning on doing the TTD shoot the next day. That way we can just focus on the wedding stuff the day of. Hope this helps

I am Secrets Maroma bride. My fiance and I were just there in December 2008 for vacation and feel in love with the resort. The beach was amazing and the staff are really friendly. We stayed in the preferred club oceanfront room and it has a wonderful beachfront view. We have only talked with the wedding coordinator there a couple times but she seemed very helpful to us. If you have any questions about the resort, please let me know.

Hi Everyone, I am new here and also a 2010 bride. We just recently got engaged in December 2008. We have the resort picked-Secrets Maroma Beach but just not the date yet. We really wanted to do February 2010 but the rates were just too high at the resort, so I think we are planning on November 2010 now. Its good to know that there are a lot of other brides going through the same things as you Has anyone else noticed a big price difference for their resorts because of the seasons? The prices for our resort for November are about half the cost of the rooms in February. Happy Planning Everyone

I just want to start of this story but saying I had no idea that he was going to propose, even though we have been together for 6 years. We were on vacation in Mexico at Secrets Maroma Beach. It was our first day there and he suggested not eat dinner till 9pm. I thought that was a little odd at first but I went with it. I just figured he wasn't very hungry since we had a late lunch. We get ready for dinner and walk over to the restaurant and the waitress knew who we were already. They take us in the restaurant and bring us into the wine cellar. There was a private table all set up. I just thought it was him being his normal romantic self. We order wine and he wants to make a toast. Halfway through the toast we are both crying (I still had no idea he was about to propose). He suddenly got up and got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and be his wife. I was in shock! Of course I said yes and I couldnt help but stare at the ring the whole night. He was so sweet and romantic. What a great way to start this wonderful vacation together.
