  1. Are you having a more formal AHR? If so, then it could follow the traditional reception timeline. We are looking to have an informal, BBQ celebration when we get back and do not have a timeline necessarily.
  2. For those that got hitched with little to no guests, how many had "vow renewals" or a legal ceremony for your family & friends before or after your DW? Since FI and I are running off just the two of us, we are going to have a casual, BBQ AHR when we get back. At the BBQ celebration, we were thinking of having a short, informal vow renewal. We figure this won't break the bank and it will make our mothers happy. Any ideas or suggestions?
  3. We are having a BBQ AHR after we return. Since it will just be us, we figure this would be a great way to celebrate with family and friends. I got some invites off of vistaprint that work well. We are debating on whether or not to have a short, informal vow renewal (for our parents' benefit) at the AHR but don't want to make it formal at all.
  4. Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the forums.
  5. Wow, this has to be such an exciting time for you!!! Congratulations on hitting the 6 day mark! Remember to breathe, and most of all HAVE FUN! All your hard work will soon pay off! We wanna see pictures when you get back.
  6. You look fabulous. I really like your shoes and the pop of pink under your dress!
  7. To the ladies who carried their dress on board, where did you store it? That's a big concern of mine.

  10. You were stunning! Congratulations on becoming a Mrs. and a soon-to-be Mommy. What a great surprise.

  12. Oh no! That sucks! I hope you are able to get better for your wedding. Sending lots of TLC your way!
  13. I agree with the ladies on here, keep an open mind when trying on the dresses. I also thought certain styles would look "better" on me and as it turned out I ended up loving one I didn't initially. Taking too many people may be too confusing so if you can take one or two whose opinions you trust, it would prob be better. Sometimes with too many opinions you can get swayed into choosing a dress you don't absolutely love. I just brought my mom with me when I found my dress. Some brides found "the one" going alone, so it's totally up to you. And yes, don't let them pressure you into buying. If you feel pressured or rushed, go somewhere else where they can give you their undivided attention. Best of luck and i'm sure you'll find one for you!

  15. futurerana, the same thing happened to me. Another bride gave me the idea...I think it's a cute one and since he's a super die hard Yankees fan, I know he will def appreciate it! I can already see his face! I'm thinking of going the DIY route as I've looked on ebay and other places online and the MLB ones are going for no less than $15 not including shipping. From what I estimate, I'd spend like $6 on the materials. And, it'd be a great keepsake. Lori, have you checked out bluefly, ebay, or nordstrom? I'm sure you can find something there & you can search by color. I am not wearing a veil either, I just want to wear a flower in my hair. Nice and simple and my dress doesn't need any embellishing.
  16. Well, based on amazon and bdw reviews, I decided to shell out the $8.99 for this DVD to mix up with my hot yoga classes. I must say it's been in the shrink wrapper for the past week, but I'm hoping to start it this week! I will post back with results.
  17. I'm so excited, I got my FI's bout. and my bouquet from etsy! We wanted them to match our theme colors. These pics don't do them justice and my bouquet will look so nice against my dress. It's a mix of roses, hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids, posies, and feathers. I also got our initials in rhinestone to put as jewels in my bouquet and I will put a small starfish brooch on the stem.

That will be the determining factor. ***Ok ladies, so how many of you are going the garter route even if it's just the two of you? Traditionally, they are worn for the garter toss or to hold up stockings but I was thinking of wearing a New York Yankees garter for him to find underneath my dress as a special surprise. What are you brides doing?
