  1. Congrats on your wedding, Amber! Can't wait to hear your review and see pics... Lindsay, welcome to the site! You are getting married at EPC 3 days before me...but we are arriving that same day, so maybe we'll get to see your wedding from afar. As far as dealing with delays, I'm not too sure but I don't think they will hold it against you being that it w/b something totally out of your control - but it's a legitimate question. Let us know what you find out...
  2. Thx Mandy! clairisse, if you know the dress you want - I would try ebay, craigslist, preownedweddingdresses.com; also on here there is always a bride willing to sell their dress, new or used once - - numerous brides have had luck getting knock-offs too on ebay, if you don't mind a knock-off. It depends on your needs...
  3. That's a very cute idea! I think everyone gave you great ideas. How about your invitation, centerpiece material, your bouquet, wedding stationary, any DIY items, escort card, program, etc.
  4. Hello fellow PC bride! Welcome to the forums. Make sure to visit the DR thread. Lots of info and very friendly and helpful people. Good luck planning!
  5. Hi date twin! Too bad I already booked a b-session with another photographer! If not, I would have joined you girls!
  6. The first and last ones look liek they were made for you! Which one will you choose?
  7. Thank you all!!! Pics don't do it justice. I never thought I would get heart palpitations like I did over a dress, lol. You can find so many brides selling new and used gowns online! If anyone is in the market for another dress or even a TTD one, I encourage to look around first. Stephanie - I actually like the 2nd one better too! Ha! Unfortunately, can't return or exchange the first one...so I figured I'd just wear it for our vow renewals and then resell it to another bride. I hope to be posting pics of me in it soon; once I get it back from the cleaners. I am truly excited to wear it and I think it is much more fitting for the beach. Both dresses are similar, yet so different. I feel like a bride in it. I'm purchasing jewelry from etsy that has rhinestones and pearls like the dress, so it will match perfectly. And, the best part is that I don't have to do any alterations to it - the height is perfect with and without my shoes. The manager at the dry cleaners said I got real lucky!!! I have to concur. Yay!
  8. Thk you all! I wanted a color that would POP in the pictures. We just got back our 2nd & 3rd set of e-photos w/ another photographer, lol. We did them for free! I'll post pics soon....
  9. Corona : love it when it's cold
  10. Thanks so much, ladies! I talked her down to $300 because the bottom of the hem was dirty since she took photos in the rain so I knew that was going to cost a bit of money to get dry cleaned. I received the dress and the "damage" is not much...but I tried it on and it looks absolutely gorgeous!! I'll post pics when I get it back from the cleaners. This is my 1st dress: RSM1038 - by Sottero & Midgley
  11. I don't know how I got to this point, but I will add myself to the 2-dress bride list! LOL! After going in for my first fitting for my Sottero & Midgley dress, I realized it was a bit heavy for the beach. I was so disappointed! I swore that I wouldn't be a 2-dress bride but I can now see how we brides can get easily carried away! I still love my Maggie but I saw this other dress in a bridal magazine and fell in love at first sight. *Sigh!* I didn't want to spend more $$ on a 2nd dress, but I realized it may be the best solution. It is a Pronovias dress. La Sposa Madeira. I tried her on at the flagship store and fell in love all over again, but I couldn't fathom spending that much on a 2nd dress!! I searched high and low on the internet hoping that another bride was selling hers and I had no luck for a few weeks, until the sun shined down on me last week! A bride on craigslist was reluctantly willing to part ways with this gem of a dress. We negotiated and she became all mine for $300 and she threw in a free veil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently, she needed the money more than the dress - post wedding bills were calling! I still can't believe my luck, but I can only guess it was meant to be. I highly suggest searching on craigslist or ebay or preownedweddingdresses.com for highly discounted designer dresses! I've heard lots of success stories from brides that have gone this route. My Madeira dress is perfect in weight for the beach and more appropriate, I think. I am beyond ecstatic - hopefully I'll be posting pics of me in it soon. So the plan is to wear my Madeira for my beach wedding and the Maggie for the vow renewals at our AHR. Mine will be ivory in color. Here are some photos of the dress on a model, who rocks it btw!
  12. Your dress looks great on you! Keep it. But, I understand your second guessing...alot of brides go through dress envy. I went through the same thing. I swore I wouldn't be a 2-dress bride, but lo and behold I became one, lol. What motivated my decision was because when going to my first fitting for my Sottero & Midgley dress, I realized it was a tad heavy for the beach. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I then ran across this dress in a bridal magazine and fell in love. Turns out, I got lucky because a bride on craigslist was selling it for super cheap so I snatched it up and she became all mine!!! It is a perfect weight for our beach wedding, and I love it! I haven't had to do any alterations to it, except for dry cleaning. Decide what's important to you, and why you would want a 2nd dress...
