I just booked with Excellence for next May 2010, and we are having a civil ceremony. Could it be the case with some resorts??

Hi all! Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I am also in the planning phase, and yes there are alot more details than what I first anticipated, but I keep reminding myself to have fun with it all because you only go through it once! As far as wedding venues, we are looking @ Paradisus and Excellence. They are both very nice, but we haven't made up our minds. I guess I should also state that we will have no guests, it will just be my fiancee and me so we haven't found anything in Punta Cana that caters to the bride and groom only. Any suggestions w/b welcome.

I'm a little late with this thread! We are also trying to decide b/t Excellence and Paradisus as I've heard rave reviews about both on this forum. Do you guys recommend a site inspection before booking a date? I don't know if I want to do that necessarily only because I'm afraid we will lose the date we want. Any recommendations on either of these resorts??

Hi eloping 789, My fiancee and I are in a similar situation, we want to run off and get married just the two of us to Punta Cana, possibly next May 2010. Can I ask how you got in touch with Melia Caribe, as I have tried and I haven't yet received a response? All the other packages I have seen include more stuff than we need, so we are trying to see if there are any resort wedding packages that cater to "elopements" or just for the bride and groom? We both really love Paradisus Palma Real!
