June 2010 wedding at the Riu Palace
sjfreimark replied to sjfreimark's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Hi Des- Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you!!! I have been so busy lately! I think the organza is about the same price I have found too! I think to cute down on the cost I am going to look around town to see what I can find. Then I don't have to worry about shipping costs. Because of the economy and I am gradating in May and really don't know if I will get a job, we are trying to plan on a budget. I think your idea with the hurricane vases is great!!! It will look really nice. I think it would be kind of fun to have an orange table runner with fushia diamonds will look really cute with fushia and orange flowers floating in the hurricane vases. You could also make your own menu and that would add some extra color too!!! I think we are going to do that too. We just finished putting together an STD to see what they would look like and I can't wait to start making them. I am just waiting until I graduate and I have some time on my hands to begin. I will post them when they are done. Hope your doing well -
I'm gonna try this.......what do you think?

Thank you girls so much!!! You know......I knew I wasn't crazy when I was telling my FI that a cheat day is actually a good thing for your metabolism. I am going to make him read your post para. You completely make sense and I am so happy I asked this question. Thanks so much!!! -
Have you exercised today?
sjfreimark replied to destinationbride07's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
It's FINALLY nice outside so I went for a really good hike and my legs are still burning!! YAYY!! I love feeling the burn even after you have worked out! -
So I have decided I am going to eat really healthy six days a week and on Saturday, take a break and have a cheat day. I have heard of people doing this but I don't know if it really works. Do you still lose weight? My problem is I LOVE food!!! I can't just allow myself a bowl of ice cream or a slice of pizza here and there. I want the whole box or like 3 pieces!!! I seem to do well with looking forward to something.....like a cheat day. Does anyone have a words of advice?

OK here is what I found......I like this idea but instead of saying MOM on the vase you could just not say anything. http://www.hostesswiththemostess.com...0_555_1000.jpg I think this would look cute too http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._2047_79461162 Let me know what you think! I will let you know if I find anything else. -

Hi Peaches- I have no idea why they stipulate 60 guests to close down a restaurant. What we are doing is renting out the Mexican Restaurant terrace. It will be $500 from 8-11 pm and people have said they fit around 40 people comfortably. It's a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. You might want to consider that. The only thing is that there will be people eating inside the restaurant and but they block it off. Hi Desi- Those colors will look great together!! Our colors are light pink and brown. The bridesmaids dresses are pink and the grooms are going to wear brown shirts. I think for our centerpieces we are going to do a brown table runner with pink sparkly diamonds that someone helped me find on ebay (they are so cute) with votive candles all around and a couple of vases with pink flowers and either coffee beans or black m&m's that fill up the vases. What do you think? I was also thinking of having getting brown cloth napkins (I could always use them for our house after the wedding) and then having a pink ribbon tied around them. I thought that would keep with the theme instead of just regular white ones. You should just google images for your colors. I will do a search and see what I can find. -

Hi Desi479- congrats on your wedding in April 2010!!! How exciting! What are your wedding colors? The disco is $500 to rent and with as many guests as you have I think you will need to close down one of the restaurants which I think is $1000 from 8-11. Happy planning! -
I love all of the ideas.....keep them coming

My fiance and I have regular 8-5 jobs. We want to make healthy dinners with little to no carbs. Does anyone have any quick, easy recipes with chicken? We have been made a few different recipes that have been delicious but I don't want to eat them every night. Here is what we have so far: shredded chicken, pesto, pine nuts, artichoke hearts, and sun dried tomatoes. It's soooooo delicious!!! I recommend trying it! shredded chicken, black beans, corn, and taco seasoning. Please feel free to add your chicken recipes!!!

Hi MexicoBeachBride2010! That would be great if you could send me the templates. That is a great idea! I know it's strange to get a head count so far in advance but it is a destination wedding and I really do not want people telling me last minute. If you could send it to my e-mail that would be great. [email protected]. Thanks!!!

I think your STD's look GREAT!! I completely understand the meltdowns.....I am having them too! Who knew this would be so difficult If you are thinking of another color to have for your wedding that complements pink, brown would be a good color. That is what our colors are going to be. I love them and you can do so much with these colors. If you want to e-mail me and I wouldn't mind helping you at all!!!

My parents bought my fiance and I a vita mixer a couple of years ago. They are really expensive (around $400) but so worth it. This thing will do anything. You can make warm soup, fruit smoothies, hummus (which I LOVE) and anything else you can think of. Recently my fiance and I have started making these fruit and veggie shakes that are AMAZING. It's so healthy and your getting MORE fruits and veggies than you need. Here is what I have been putting in ours: 2 celery stalks 1/2 a tomato spinach 1 1/2 carrots 1/2 a green pepper a few pinapple chunks (fresh) grapes blackberries 1 banana 1/2 peeled orange a few ice cubes and a little water The best thing is that you literally just put everything inside the blender......you don't need to chop things up into smaller pieces so the blender will puree it. This is ready in less than 30 seconds. If you are really wanting to be healthy and really don't have a lot of time on your hands then please consider a vita mixer. I cannot rave enough about it!!!!

What are your (inexpensive) beauty miracles?
sjfreimark replied to Bridget810's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
This thread is great!!! I use vaseline for my lips and also to remove my eye makeup. It takes off my makeup great plus it's so moisturizing that it helps fight wrinkles in the eye area. I know it sounds gross but try it......it really works. I also use philosophy products. They are a little spendy but the only thing that really works on my skin. I LOVE all of their products. I use the purity face wash, moisturizer for all skin types and spf 15 and I have the microdermabration mask that is AMAZING!!! -

Hi Msbettybernier! I think you can bring your own cake put I am not sure. You might want to contact Daniella about that one. I think I am just going to have the cake from the hotel. I have heard it's pretty good. Plus, I have heard that everyone is usually to drunk at that time to even care about cake!! -
I am new to this whole do-it-yourself thing but really excited!! I am wanting to make my STD's soon and am debating with a couple of ideas. I have a monogram made and was planning sealing the envelopes with the monogram. What I am having a problem with is how I want to do my save the dates. I really want to do them using my wedding colors (pink and brown) and just thought about getting card stock and doing it that way. I love this idea but I want to let people know I want them to RSVP by January 15, 2010. My FI and I have a website that people can RSVP to that I will mention on the card but I feel I should also send an RSVP card too. What do you think? Also, how do I include an RSVP card with my STD? I am worried it will look weird to have a RSVP card with the kind of STD I want. HELP!!!

Vista Print questions????
sjfreimark replied to sjfreimark's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Thanks for the advice. Vista Print is great but since I am looking for something with my wedding colors I might have to do it myself. I'm excited!!! It's a great way to add personal touches......can't wait! -
Vista Print questions????
sjfreimark replied to sjfreimark's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Well I don't really like any of the designs for the STD's so I was thinking of uploading my own design. I really don't even know how to make my own design. How could I do that? Also, the STD's on Vistaprint are not as cheap as I thought. If I upload my own design and create my own is it cheaper? -
I am trying to be a thrifty bride and I would like to make my own STD's by using a template or something of the sort. I have looked at Vista Print but I really don't understand how it works. My wedding colors are pink and brown and I would like to incorporate something beachy, like a starfish design or a seashell design. Can someone help me with how I can do this for fairly cheap?

I need help picking a wedding location!!!
sjfreimark replied to sjfreimark's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I completely agree and I just needed to hear that I need to do it MY way. We are planning an AHR for later on so I think it will be fine. I just have a big family that wants me to do it their way or no way so it's frustrating. I just need to keep strong and remember it's my wedding and if they don't like it.....too bad!!!! Thanks girls for all of the great advice. By the way, it is much cheaper to have a DW!!! My FI and I figure we could get married and have our honeymoon at the same time. Saves money and it's in the location we want to get married at!!! -
So I have been hearing a lot of great things about Vista Print and thought I would give them a try. Well my wedding colors are pink and brown and we want our save the dates to be our wedding colors. There is an option to upload a design and photo and create your own but I don't know how to do it. Can someone help?

Who should walk me down the isle???
sjfreimark replied to kris's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
That is exactly what I am going to do ACA Amy!!! I was so stressed about what I was going to do about my dad and my step-dad. I feel it would look funny too because my step-dad is over 6 feet tall and my dad is only like 5'10' plus I just don't want any ackwardness. So I thought about the idea of one walking me halfway down and then the other walking me the rest of the way. I'm with ya!!!
