  5. Our prices are in!! I am finally able to view prices from AppleVacations for the week of January 5-12. I contacted our TA and she priced us an awesome price, actually $400 cheaper than the last time we checked. She also mentioned that if we buy insurance we will get money back if the prices go down which is a major incentive for us.

  7. I'm getting anxious and I would like to know a close estimate because that will help me decide on a resort for sure. I think the '09 price thread would be a great idea
  8. Hello Everyone! We too are running into the same concern. Our wedding will be January 2010 in RM. We met with the TA in February and even at that point in time she said that we would have to wait until June or July before we finalized anything- including booking. I have been checking the sites every so often and I still don't see any prices out for the first week in January, so now I"m thinking her time frame will be about right. I'm assuming that the prices will come out and then hopefully come down by late summer. Happy planning! Jessica
  9. My FI and I discussed the idea and we have decided to get married in the states after the DW. I got some mixed reactions when I asked opinions on getting married before we go b/c everyone wants it to be "real". We figured that it will probably save us close to $600 by getting married in the states, plus I'm a nurse and I'm a little concerned with getting my blood drawn in Mexico . I contacted the courthouses around here and we can get married for $35!
  10. Hmmm, so it doesn't look like it went through. If you want the flower pics, send me a msg and I'll have to email you. 12. Hey, Just wondering if anyone had a good website for creating a wedding album from the CD of your professional pictures. I have heard that there are sites out there but I haven't found them yet. Thanks! Jessica
  13. Bicky11- What did you figure out for flowers? I am interested in heading to town for flowers also, but it kind of worries me.
  14. Hi Everyone! I am also new to this site, but I have lots of answers to many of your questions. We are getting married January 2010 and our prices STILL aren't out. Frustrating but the travel agent and WC seem to think it will all be ok. The WC needs to know 2 months prior to the wedding. I started with being in contact with the WC from Sandos Caracol d/t a misunderstanding. He sent me the flower pics- if any of you want me to include the pics, just let me know. I have been in contact with Lupita, the WC at Playacar, and she can take up to a week or so to respond. I was a little annoyed with this when I started looking but I think it is just b/c they run on "Mexican Time". I have personally talked with 2 other Playacar brides and they were very complimentary of her and their experiences for their stay. As I have been planning it keeps concerning me that I don't have a resort yet but my TA told us that we probably won't book until July or so- 6 months before the wedding. She is thinking that prices won't be out much before then. I also have prices for additional things like photo packages, flower prices, etc.- again if anyone is interested. Let me know.
  15. Hello! My name is Jessica and we are having a destination wedding . Our wedding date is not really set yet because we are waiting for results from the resorts. We are hoping for January 8, 2010. We are planning on being married on the beach in Riviera Maya. I have been looking at different resorts and still checking things out. If any of you have any advise for the RM area, please let me know. Thanks, Jessica
