  1. First off...take a few deep breaths--you sound really stressed. You can still have a very pretty ceremony and reception. When my FI and I went to DR this past April we witnessed a very cute, elegant yet simple wedding. The bride was gorgeous, the size of the wedding was very manageable and most importantly everyone appeared to be enjoying their special day. I believe they had a beach wedding, dinner at one of the finer restaurants at the resort and we spotted them at the lobby bar partying with all the other guests. The father/daughter dance was done at the lobby bar. It was too cute. As for the cake cutting, you can do that at the restaurant. I can definitely understand your frustration. I was in your shoes just days ago for sort of the opposite situation (I was very stressed about reception accomodations and planning for TOO many guests in such a far away location) but please know that you are at an advantage. Take this planning time to get creative and make it a memorable experience for you, your FI and all your guests. Some advice...stop running everything past your FI; I was doing this and I drove myself crazy and decided to stay local. Relax and Happy planning! Kim

  6. The first two are definitely Jim Hjelm. The second is an "alternate view" pic on their website. Edited...Oops I guess I should of read through the posts first.
  7. Thanks so much for yet another amazing review. I have them booked for next April...so excited.
  8. Im happy to see this thread. Right now we have confirmed our reception as Jellyfish; however I am strongly considering moving my wedding there as well. Since Inoska left PPC I have had absolutely no contact with the other WC and that scares me. FI and I spent a couple weeks at PPC last April and its so gorgeous I am just a little worried about the sudden transitions taking place. Good luck...I don't think you can go wrong!
  9. Cute dress! For the GM why don't you do like an ivory linen suit or pants with white shirt. Then you could bring in the red and black (one single rose of sorts) with the bout. And of course, there's always the black pants and nice white shirt-look.
  10. ok...first things first...your mom is definitely a diva! lol. and if she's anything like my mom (it appears she is) you better let her have her way. lol
  11. I love that material. I don't think its too dressy. Those dresses are cute. I'm not a huge fan of chiffon--although its beautiful--just not on me. I also think that the charmeuse photographs well too because it preserves the color better. If you want something that sways in the wind; this is a good alternative.

A couple of my girls are pretty busty and they look fab is the style that we chose. Good luck and let us know how it goes! A Oh my...that's expensive. So I went during lunch and tried this one on: Style MS316 | Priscilla of Boston I love it! They don't allow pictures so I couldn't sneak one in. But it was really cute and they seem to fit pretty true to size. Im excited.

For some reason I remember the sales lady distracting me away from them as she was saying that her line isn't meant for busty girls. However I am going to try one on today and see what the deal is. I love the colors as well. Have you found any online store that sells her dresses for a better price?

It could look and feel different on all of them and may be uncomfortable for the taller ladies at a windy beach wedding(from personal experience of being tall myself). Just a thought. Have you tried looking at the places that have a bunch of different styles in the same color? Then you could just tell your bridesmaids what color to get and the length you prefer and let them find something flattering and comfortable to each of them. It will save you a lot of headaches in the future I'm sure. OOOOOoo. That is seriously probably the only place that I have not looked. I didn't know they had dresses that this there. I will go take a look today. Thanks for the tip about the tall girls. I've been running all my choices past them--that's the reason why we are still undecided Anywho...they are too lazy to pick out different dresses but that would be ideal!
  16. Hey ladies... Has anyone seen this dress (or something like it) in their search for bridesmaids dresses. I literally have a headache from searching for dresses! I have six girls that range from 5'3'' to nearly 6 ft--of all different figures. I am trying to find something that would flatter everyone and im losing my mind over here. I've tried on more freakin bridemaid dresses than I have wedding dresses. Sheesh! TIA Kim

And since no one else has posted their veils yet, I thought I'd jump in an post both of mine! (I had bought one dress & veil, which I will now wear for our AHR, and then had a change of heart and got a different gown & veil for the ceremony) so here are pictures of both! I know these photos are up on the forum elsewhere already, but here they are again for veil-posting purposes! Here is my ceremony gown (Sottero & Midgley RSM1038 ) and the single-tier cathedral veil with no embellishments: And here is the original gown I bought at David's Bridal (style T8792) with matching 2-tier, fingertip length, satin ribbon-edge veil that I'll be wearing for my AHR: I think anyone who is undecided as to whether or not to wear a veil, just consider this -- it is the only time in your life when you can wear one and not look silly, so I say go for it!!! In my opinion, nothing says "Here comes the BRIDE!" more that a beautiful girl, in a gorgeous gown, finished with a fabulous veil.... To the OP--they both look great. Christie...wanted to thank you for amazing presence here. I hope (well I know) your FI really loves and cherishes the awesome person you are--because you just seem like that one person that is always in your corner. I wish there were more people like you Thanks for your kind words to all of us crazy brides on here.
