  1. I am a shoe girl, so I wore 4in heels! My WC put wooden planks down under the sand (so you couldn't see them), then an aisle runner. I rocked those shoes all night, and danced my butt off! But, I am used to heels. Quote: Originally Posted by hat0112 Because my FI is over a foot taller than me I am wearing heels (and I love wearing heels). 2. Are you actually going to say "bride and groom," or are you going to use your names? Also, is the DW put on by you or your parents? If it's your parents, I think it's okay to say "they," but if the invites are coming from you, I would say "join us as we." I like the first one, if you used actual names, and use "we" and "our" instead of "they" and "their." Does that make sense?
  3. DH doesn't really care for UpDo's, and while it wasn't really up to him , I love the look of big curls blowing in the wind on the beach, so that's what I did. An UpDo was a bit formal for me. Also, I didn't wear a veil, just a hair flower, so I guess I was a bit different. I don't feel a like my hair took away from the dress AT ALL. If you feel like this may happen, I would recommend a half up/half down. Good Luck, I'm sure whatever you chose will be beautiful!
  4. Great job! I love the colors, and the "stamps" you put on the ticket jacket! Thank goodness for the girl at Staples, that was amazing of her! I know that cutting out was on of the longest parts of making our boarding passes. And, YAY for FI helping out!

  6. As the other girls have said, just relax and breathe! I planned my DW in about 8 months. I got married in Dec, and didn't buy a dress until September. It will all work itself out. Just take things one step at a time . There are several checklists posted here, you can do a search to find them. Here's one to get you started http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-checklist-54/.

Here's our favorite crock pot recipe: Angel Chicken 1 lb. skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 1/4 cup butter 1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix 1/2 cup white wine 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup 4 ounces cream cheese with chives or veggies 1 pound angel hair pasta Fresh chives Melt the butter over medium heat. Add the packet of dry Italian style salad dressing mix and cook for a minute. Add in the white wine, golden mushroom soup, cream cheese and cook until melted and combined. Place chicken breasts in the crock pot and cover with sauce. Cook on low 4-5 hours. Serve with angel hair pasta and fresh chives. **Sometimes I add olives, mushrooms, onions, or whatever we're feeling like that particular day. The sauce is soooooo yummy! Make sure to have lots of bread with your meal to soak it up! Quote: Originally Posted by Amarillis Ok... Ready? -I recently typed this up for a bunch of the ladies at our lake..... From Amy's kitchen! Pepperoncini Pulled Beef This is one of Chad`s favourite recipes, and is one of the easiest recipes I have ever made. It has been the most requested potluck dish for Winter 2008. I routinely make this on a Friday night, will slow cook through the night, ‘pull’ the beef on Saturday morning, and continue the cooking process through Saturday in time for Saturday evening. To do.... 1.Place an inexpensive roast of beef (blade roast) in a slow cooker, to the slow cooker add 2-3 cloves of garlic and one medium sized diced cooking onion 2.Drain a large jar of Unico Pepperoncini Peppers and add the juice to the slow cooker 3.Remove all of the seeds from the Pepperoncini Peppers and add the seeded peppers to the slow cooker 4.Turn the slow cooker on low for 10 hours (overnight) 5.Pull apart the beef with a fork or spoon, it should flake apart continue to cook for at least 2-3 hours on low, if necessary add a wee bit of water. Serve the Pepperoncini Pulled Beef on Panini buns Excellent accompaniments for toppings include -Horseradish -Dijon mustard -Shredded Mozzarella or Provolone Cheese -Barbeque Sauce And as always serve with: -A nice red wine I made both of these a couple of weeks ago, and they turned out amazing! I did add a some black pepper to the angel chicken.
  8. Congrats on finding "the" dress and booking you resort. @ huge things to check off your list!
  9. I'm JEALOUS Janine! I can't wait to go to Tahiti! I think it may be a couple of years before we can make it.
  10. Diamond white is a closer to ivory than regular white. My dress was diamond white.
  11. I would just fold them. Honestly, if I got an invite with a folded return envelope, I wouldn't think twice about it. But, that's just me....
  12. Have you considered the South Pacific? I have been doing some research, and this place looks great Hotel Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort - Luxury hotel MAHAREPA - Official Web Site. There are a ton of reviews on trip advisor. Check out Tahiti Vacations, Honeymoon Packages and Tahiti Hotels. Good Luck!
  13. Again, as a reminder... Quote: Originally Posted by *karla* as a reminder: Please remember that we are on an honor system with the starfish and journals. It really is not that difficult, but our last bride nearly didn't have the starfish, b/c the previous bride did not feel she should take 20 minutes out of her day to go to the post office. She just received the journal, 2 weeks after her wedding. She did not get it in time to mail to the next bride, so it will get to the current bride when she get home. I sincerely hope we do not have these problems in the future. This is a great tradition, but we need honest people who will not ruin it.
