  1. How about posting a full review in the reviews section, and then posting a link here for us? Tranch, I had the same question about programs -- how do we get these printed if we don't even know what time the ceremony is going to be, or what exactly is going to happen. Ladies who already got married, did you bother doing programs and menus? Also, was wondering if everyone got mini fridges in their rooms, or is that just a Golden Club thing? Also, what drinks are included with the all-inclusive... like, are margaritas included? Oh, here I go with the questions again... ok, last one for now... What are your restaurant choices if you're getting married on the Akumal side, and which do y'all recommend?
  2. Congratulations!! So glad to hear everything went smoothly. I can't wait to read your review!
  3. Thanks Jennifer and Tlseege for all the info! Jennifer, I love your wedding website. I especially love that Strangers in the Night was playing when you first met and now that song is on your website too! Was it your first dance song?
  4. Hi ladies, A bunch of questions for ya (sorry, I know this is a long list!): 1) Playa Del Carmen - How far away is Playa Del Carmen? Are there cabs at the resort to take you there, and how much is it each way? 2) Airport Transfer - Any recommendations on airport transfer companies? We can have one included in our package right now for $40 return, but it stops at other resorts along the way. 3) Day Trips - Does anyone have a list of excursions that the resort offers? I'm trying to get something like a newsletter out to our guests so they can budget for the trip. Did you have any favorite day trips or ones that you'd recommend not going on? 4) WC - We were assigned Yuritzia as our coordinator when we booked, but I haven't heard from her at all. I saw that a lot of people had trouble getting a hold of their WCs. We've only been talking to Paloma so far. Am I just supposed to wait until 3 months before our date to hear from Yuritzia? 5) Custom Maracas - We're thinking of doing custom maracas as a wedding favor. Ajua, a restaurant and wedding planning company in Playa Del Carmen will make them for about $6 each. Are there other places that do custom maracas? 6) Out of Town Bags - We want to do some gift bags for people when they arrive. Those who did them, what did you put in them, did you ship all the stuff to Mexico, or just bring it in your luggage, and did you get the hotel to distribute the for $2 a piece? Whew. Sorry about my ton of questions. I'm still trying to read and catch up on all the info that is on this thread..... there is a lot

We were thinking of a day trip with guests also... it was a toss up between one of the ruins like you were saying, or maybe just all heading into Playa del Carmen for the day. I guess I'm wondering how we're going to transport people.
  6. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone Katie, my husband I have only been married for a year and a half. We got married while he was on leave from deployment in Iraq, so we never got to do a big celebration with friends and family. This August will be it! For you and your husband, I think whenever you feel like you both need a romantic vacation would be great. Actually, one of my friends and her husband renew their vows EVERY YEAR at the place they honeymooned! If only we could all do that right? Tsleege, your wedding at GBP Akumal was so gorgeous!
  7. Hi ladies! I'm renewing my vows on Aug. 15/09 at the Bahia Principe Akumal. I'm super excited. I saw already there is a nice big long thread for the Bahia Principe which is so awesome. See you on the boards!

  9. Hi ladies! Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. My husband and I are renewing our vows at the Bahia Principe Akumal on Aug. 15, 2009. Technically, we're already married, but we never got to do a reception when we had our civil ceremony last year, so this will basically be like a wedding. I'm pretty excited, and I was even more excited when I found this forum. You all have done such a fantastic job getting all this information and answering other member's questions and planning your own weddings. I'm so impressed! And thank you! I feel better booking at a place I have never seen before knowing that it's backed by all your great reviews. Oh, so my first question - my date is in August. How worried should I be about hurricanes or bad weather? See you all on the board
