  14. My husband and I have lived in Ixtapa - Zihuatanejo for 2 years and we have discussed this very concern with our friends often over the past month or so. From what we have heard and experienced, there is little to worry about in tourist centres. We feel safe in Ixtapa - Zihuatanejo. I hope this helps.
  15. Yeh a fellow Canadian! Welcome to the forum! January is beautiful in Mexico. I hope your wedding planning goes smoothly.
  16. Hello fellow Canadian! There are some great locations for weddings on the west coast of Mexico and given that you are from Vancouver, they are a little closer. Alaska Air has reasonably priced flights to this zone. As well, Westjet has several convenient direct flights. Rumour has it that Westjet will soon be opening up a direct flight to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo also. Happy planning!
  17. Las Brisas Ixtapa is very private as there is a rock outcrop separating it from the main beach in Ixtapa. Las Brisas has an exclusive beach. If you are planning a beach wedding, it might be useful to check the tidal charts closer to your wedding date as the tides vary greatly throughout the year. Happy planning!
  18. Congratulations!Zihuatanejo is really beautiful in December!* The temperature isn't to high, there is generally a nice cool breeze throughout the day and the sunsets are stunning. If you are planning a beach wedding, it might be useful to check the tidal charts closer to your wedding date as the tides are quite high in December.Happy planning!
  19. Congratulations! Zihuatanejo is a medium sized town (by Mexican standards) with a small town feel. You can pretty much walk anywhere you want to go and there are quite a few beautiful boutique hotels. Some hotels are built using North American design principles while others are rustic and built into the existing natural environment. The sunsets during November and December are spectacular and the temperature is comfortable. Happy planning!
  20. Congratuations! Ixtapa is a beautiful place to get married. Las Brisa Hotel is quite private as it is separated by a rocky outcrop from main beach in Ixtapa. There is an exclusive beach in front of the hotel. The tides are rather high in this area in February so it might be useful to look at tidal tables closer to your wedding date. Hope this helps. Happy planning!
  21. Hello! My name is Elizabeth Brady and I'm a professional photographer from Canada who has been based in Zihuatanejo - Ixtapa, Mexico for about 2 years. I have over 10 years experience as a photographic artist and 3.5 years as a wedding photographer. I am available to photograph anywhere in Mexico and internationally. It brings me great pleasure to capture moments that show a person's character, make them look and feel beautiful and that show the connections and joy of a wedding. I also thoroughly enjoy incorporating elements of architecture and nature to create a sense of the destination. In short - I love my profession!! I am flexible to shoot in a variety of styles. We will discuss your vision for visual documentation then I'll make it happen for you. If you are unsure what you vision is we can create one together. If anyone has questions about BN Fotografia's services as well as local (Mexican) culture, business (getting things done in Mexico), translations or if you would like suggestions re: timing and location - I would be happy to help you. My assistant is my sweet husband, Juan. We also offer video coverage. We can provide services in English and Spanish. Gear: cameras - both are Canon digital SLRs, lenses - Canon, video - Canon HD capture and rendering. Cheers Elizabeth and Juan BN Fotografia
