  1. La palapa is one of the spots in PV that me and my fi hit 3 nights while there last May. We drank wine until 1am everytime. We looked into doing a welcome party there. I do have to say it would be amazing for a reception, BUT there will be lots of local traffic and tourist, plus it is one of the more expensive places in PV and not sure what you get matches the price. I would love to learn more though. Because again the serivce is amazing and the location is so idea. Best of luck planning I will be there this May and would be more than happy to take photos or get more info for you
  2. I am very familiar with the Liberia area. My bf lives near there. I love it there. YOu will have an amazing time you must must must go to the hot springs at the base of the Arenal Volcano... I can send you photos and lodging info if needed..... Also you must zipline off the back of the volcano... wowzer
  3. casey is an official hottie, damn girl that outfit is smok'n
  4. Oh i also love "Everything" by Michael Buble. That may also be our recessional song.... I so have to decide like soon
  5. OH MY!!!! So I already found my song, and I love the instrumentals. Then I went back after reading all your songs and looked up the lyrics. Lets just say it isn't the most love inspirational song. BUT I am in love with the instrumentals and even the lyrics. I am walking down the isle to........ " This years love" by David Gray (i am obsessed with the piano in the beginning of this song and even the lyrics that start the song: Heaven knows it's high time I've been waiting on my own, too long When you hold me like you do It feels so right, oh now The music to me is so beautiful and when I hear it I totally see myself walking down the isle focused on my FI and my mind all wrapped around the moment and the piano playing in this song. I have to include we are a more non-traditional couple so here is the rest of our music line up: bridal processional: "Can't get enough of your love" Barry White (I do expect them to dance down the isle) recessional: after they announce us husband and wife they will start "You're the first, my last, my Everything" Barry White right where Barry White says -"We've got it together baby, (then it breaks into fun instrumental then) You're the first, my last, my everything... your the sun, the moon, the guiding star, my kind of wonderful that is what you are...." We plan to dance down the isle.... I have to say I am really excited.... Then when they welcome our wedding party I think we may have them play "Let's get it started" by Black Eyed Peas and when they introduce us we are a little torn but thinking "Remember the Times" by Michael Jackson.... We are a party bunch and want this to be all about a celebration more than a ceremony. So we felt the music, well and our friends, will set the tone. would love feedback...
  6. Welcome fellow PV bride. I too am new to the forum and loving it. Can't wait to see your posts and updated in the PV threads... Let any of us PV brides know if you need any help.
  7. i'm now officially a DD bride and so excited. it has been such an easy process so far. would love to hear any ideas ya'll have on additional activities.
  8. That is the best part. I am ordering small wooden boxes and am going to put all the stuff in them. I am going to hand deliver about 15 of them. Then send one box full of them to my mom, who will distribute the ones there. I will be mailing the rest. I am trying to keep cost in check, so this was the best way for me. Here is my price breakdown: (oh and with 65 guests I am deliver one per household so I only have to give out 40ish) $1.00 Dummies books $1.50 Jose Cuervo Tequila $1.40 Twang lemon-lime beer salt $1.40 wooden box $0.00 printing lyrics on my left over wedding invite paper $0.15 mini limes bought a large bag of mini limes, might not even be that much $0.00 CD's had extra blank ones around the house $0.50 CD case holder (printing cover page myself) $3.49 shipping (only have to ship around 25 of them, the others will be hand delivered) $324 total saving about $500-$600 by not doing OOT bag:) Oh and printing of the welcome letter by vistaprint, not sure on cost yet
  9. duh... Spanish for dummies not dumbie.... boy i need to take a spelling class
  10. So I have been going around and around on the idea of OOT bags. I have finally decided for our 65 guests it will cost around $800 plus dollars; plus the hassle of having to pack everything to PV. So with that said I think I may do a departure gift instead. I am planning to send the following to our RSVP guests 2-3weeks out from the wedding: A small package that will have the following: Twang Lemon-Lime long neck bottle beer salt check them out they are cute: Twang Lemon Lime Long Neck Cd, 1.4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 24): Amazon.com: Your Store Mini bottles of Tequila Mini limes Spanish for Dumbies CD with songs to inspire you to pack for a Mexico vacation Note card with the lyrics to "Tiny Dancer" this is our finale song at the wedding in which we will have Mexican sparklers distributed to guests and they can all practice before hand, so they know the lyrics to Tiny Dancer (this is an inside joke between my friends and I that everyone always wants to sing Tiny Dancer but most people jack up the words) And Of course their Welcome Letter: that will state the important stuff and also include something along these lines (I AM OPEN FOR IDEAS ON A PLAY ON WORDS FOR THE INTRO LETTER) "Have a shot of tequila, put on the CD, get some friends together to help you pack while you all take a turn on remember the lyrics to Tiny Dancer, and brush up on your spanish... Oh and don't forget to pack....... See you in Mexico" AGAIN OPEN TO SOMETHING MORE CREATIVE HERE PS I tried to post pictures but for some reason it wouldn't let me. I believe I am doing it right. Is anyone else having a problem copy/pasting from photobucket?
  11. Yamille you are smoking hot.... The lighting the back ground and your hotness all rock the photo. Casey - well I am without words Yolanda - wowzer amazing angle - you look hot
  12. Thank for posting that info. My guests too have been asking so many questions. I am starting to feel bad that we rushed our wedding and asked our guest to book so quickly with little to no information about what is going on in Mexico.
  13. Casey and Yamille that is great news. I had a friend who did her BD shoot with Kamila also. I will see if she will let me post her teaser shot.

  15. Congrats. Can't wait to read your review on Dreams.... Have the time of your life.
  16. Sarah congrats and welcome back. Such great news to hear you were blown away by the Dreams. Yea! Did you do any organized events there. I was thinking of using a few ideas I read on here and having a casual Welcome Party at Barracuda Bar. Does anyone know if this is okay. I figured we could capitalize on the all-inlcusive thing. Plus keep our guests at the resort for the first night. BTW I am booking Dazzling Details, it sounds like everything will go smooth this way, since I am trying to put things together in such a short time. I am still unsure if we will have our wedding at the resort, I liked K&RWeddings idea of going to a private villa. All my guests are really close friends who would all enjoy each other and I think they would like the privacy. Any feedback from anyone would be great. I tried to PM K&RWedding but see she is banned so I couldn't reach her. I also hired a photographer, whom jsut happen to have an opening the weekend we are getting married. It was meant to be. I still have to do everything else. I mean everything. Each day is like a big checklist.
  17. I can't stop crying long enough to type. But I do believe one of the best gifts in this world is the gift to love. Most people aren't blessed to find love once, but twice is a miracle. Congrats to you and your fiance for being such a strong support to one another and finding love in each other is such a trying situation. Best of happiness to you both
  18. I just had a friend to who got back from PV last week and I have seen a lot of people inquire about taxi service, she stayed at the DReams and got a taxi from the airport there were 3 of them and the total trip was $18. Great price compared to what I was quoted by my TA and Dreams.
  19. Oh my, last minute my FI and I decided to get married this year and I thought it would be impossible. But after working with a TA we got the DReams hotel booked for 15 rooms in June. Now the race is on to plan a wedding. I am still deciding on a WC and everything. This week is the dress, mens outfits, shoes, you know the works, including invites. I feel like I am on a reality show. I have spent the last 5 days reading and reading all the great info on this site. Thank you all. I will keep you posted on my planning. I will also update my profile soon and add a photo.
  20. This is very good news. I just booked 15 rooms for the DReams in June for a rushed wedding and they seem really good. I think I may use an outside WC to make my life easier, but will consider Rebeca once I read your review. Congrats. I am new to the site but all the info I have been reading has been so helpful
  21. Marisol- I too am going to use Boca Bento, they had a great price and based off reviews on this site it sounds amazing. I also heard the food was really good. Are they good to work with?
  22. Hello I am new and trying to plan a wedding before July. I know, crazy, but if it doesn't work out we are open for doing something in 2010. But if it does work out great. I have read so many different opinions on Dreams Resort, Villa Premiere and Nueva Vallarta, was wondering if anyone could lead me in a particular direction. I have just stared the process, but after reading posts on this site I am also concidering a villa wedding. My wedding will, or so I think, be around 80 guests. I don't have a lot of time if I can pull it off this year so I am thinking about wedding coordinators any suggestions out there. For a bride just starting the process any information would be so very helpfull. You all seem to have a good handle on things. Wish me luck PS step one is getting my wedding website up:)
  23. Hello fellow brides! I am planning a wedding in Puerto Vallarta, which was going to take place in 2010, but after speaking with my fiance it sounds like we may try to push it up to this year. Meaning before July, scary. Not sure if it can happen, but we are going to try. If not 2010 here we come.
