  1. Oh yeah almost forgot I got my Tamiflu medicine yesterday and the pharmacist laughed okay not literally but she said this is blown out of porportion. She told me she has had over 10 people in this week with confirmed swine flu and they walked right in fever and all and picked up their medicine and are still alive and healthy.... She said wow can't wait for cold season, with hype like this, it is going to keep me in business...... She said before this swine flu scare CVS pharm was getting ready to do layoffs and now they aren't strange...... So lesson learned: Positive Swine Flu results 1. swine flu is keeping CVS pharm in business 2. Airlines are canceling direct flights and my guests have rebooked with connecting flights and saved half their $$$$$. My FI and I alone saved $328 on our flights yeah 3. I spoke to someone at Dreams PV yesterday and she said it isn't busy there and that they didn't have to make restaurant reservations or spa you can just walk right in and she said the service is amazing.

  3. Leaving for Puerto Vallarta in 10 days. I can't wait..... I had a co-worker just return with 40 wedding guests on Sunday from Cancun and she said all is good. She is even prego and didn't have any worries. There were 4 small children with them and again everyone is healthy and had a wonderful time. LADIES SERIOUSLY NO WORRIES.... This morning CDC announced that this strain of Swine Flu is more minor than the common flu. I get the flu every winter, it sucks for about 2-3 days but hey I'm alive and healthy.... Happy Mexico Wedding everyone... PS yesterday was my legal day it was a hoot getting married at the court house. so funny I would love to post pictures but for some reason I am not able to weird.
  4. Andi I love Kristin's work and the teasers are amazing. I can't wait to see it all. I hope you are still on your honeymoon. Congrats K
  5. Hey ladies I will be in PV May 16-24. Of course we, meaning my group, will be going out on the town and was checking to see if any other fellow BDW brides will be there and if you are planning nights out on the town. We will be out May 17th possibly La Palapa for wine and sunset 18th probably downtown at La Bodequita (sp) salsa bar 19th Las Carmiletas dinner then downtown probably Zoo or somewhere else to dance. Just checking
  6. I just want to encourage all brides that are having weddings in Mexico to move forward. I have been in touch with many people in Mexico and they do confirm that the US is blowing this out of proportion. I am having my wedding May 22nd in PV and all my 60 guests are attending. They did make plans to not connect through Mexico City, which all airlines were great and connected them through Houston or Dallas. The wedding will go on and I really do encourage the rest to continue with their Dream wedding plans. It is confirmed the people who died in Mexico lived in poverty, didn't seek medical attention and were in poor health. In my home state this past winter 134 people died from the regular flu, less than the number who died in Mexico. Get educated but be smart take precautions and I wish you all a very safe and healthy wedding day.
  7. Mummergirl and all other PV or Mexico brides I am proud to announce that we are moving forward with our wedding in Mexico on May 22nd.... Yeah... And all 60 of our guests will be joining us. We did take measures and any guests that had to connect through Mexico City, which was 30 total changed their flights so they will connect through Dallas or Houston and fly straight to PV. I just spoke to two people in Mexico today, both whom I trust very much and they confirmed that the United States is really blowing this out of proportion. They have both been in Mexico for a week and feel safe and healthy. Additionally there are more flu cases in NYC than there are in Puerto Vallarta, go figure. My guests are very excited and feel very safe about this trip. I truly encourage all guests to continue with their plans. Have their guests take precautions but do move forward. This is the flu, not scarlet fever or pollo...... Lets be real people. I had the flu last winter and took some antibiotics and was okay. I did lose 5 lbs:) I did make alternative plans and then thought really what am I thinking this is silly to be freaking out. All my friends are healthy and smart. The people dying in Mexico are not seeking medical attention, live in poverty and don't have good living conditions or health. I wish you all a very happy and healthy wedding day and hope all your guests are as supportive as mine. Kristin from the Dazzling Details is amazing and can also enlighten her brides on the facts. I am sending positive energy to all of you......
  8. I have been in DC on business and was freaking out today. We were thinking we would spend the weekend finding a new location, but after reading this thread and educating myself a little more, we are sticking to our guns and having our Dream Wedding In Mexico...... Thanks for all the information and support. Mexico brides rock.... I wish you all the healthiest and safest weddings ever. JUne brides you have nothing to worry about....
  9. I was hoping to find other brides using Plush Catering - Boca Bento restaurant for either catering or to do an event at Boca bento. If you have done this I would love to hear how it went. If you are planning to use them I would love to see how your planning is going?

  12. I just found out I am having two wedding bands. I wanted my FI and I to have matching bands and he wanted me to have a diamond band. My engagement ring was designed by my FI and I can't really wear a ring next to it. So I believe I will wear my ER on my right and the two wedding bands on my left: Here they are argh... Can't get a pic to post
  13. Hey ladies I have been M.I.A and missing BDW. I have been splitting my time between, work, training at the gym, final details of the wedding and can't wait for the big day. We leave for PV in less than a month. So I decided to get my hair and makeup done with Franc Gole. I am going to his salon the day of my wedding with my mom, sister and bridal party. We are getting ready there, eating lunch there and dressing there. Then the men will join us. My FI and I are going to do our First Look at La Bodeguita "Cuban Salsa Bar" in downtown PV. We have a funny memory there and we get to meet there in private. Then we will do photos downtown with our wedding party before heading to the Dreams to have our ceremony. WRiting this makes it seem so real I can't wait..... Just wanted to share.....
  14. I love your pictures.... Yamille dido
  15. your hair and makeup looked great..... congrats it also looked like you had an amazing time. Thank you for sharing
  16. I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on the spa services at Dreams? I got a price quote in the fall and it was $60 for 50 min now they say it is over $100 for 50 min. Has anyone ever used the spa there? Also is anyone having their hair done there for the wedding? I was going to use them and just got a referral from my WC that I should also check out Franc Gole.
  17. My WC just recommended FrancGole. Does anyone have any additional photos of his work? I like that he uses MAC make-up, but I am concerned about my hair. I don't want a traditional up-do. I am nervous about this turning out right.
  18. Hello... Are you out there. I see this thread is a little old. BUT I am hoping someone can guide me. I am getting married in May and I was going to have my hair done at Dreams, but my WC just did her hair at FrancGole and said she would recommend it. So has anyone had their hair done there in the last year? Or does anyone have any suggestions or referrals for me? My hair is very important and I am not looking for your traditional updo. I would like something a little more old hollywood style. HELP PLEASE...
  19. I too am having a villa wedding after finding out there is a wedding at the Dreams resort the same time as mine, we decided to switch. So we decided on Villa Meditereano (sp), after seeing so many pictures on here and so many brides saying it was amazing. Site unseen, we picked it then found out that we had to change our wedding date all together because there was a reception there the night we wanted. So after all the going around and printing our invites we settled on a different night. Mexicobridewithquestions please PM I would love to ask you some questions about Villa Meditereano Kalindi
  20. I am having the same issue. I heard Franco does great make-up, but not great hair. Then I got a referral for Len at Blu. I just don't know what to do. I would love to be able to see photos of past brides that used someone in Puerto Vallarta
  21. I have been trying to plan some events at Dreams, in order to do a few organized things but save some $$$.
