  1. Oh, I forgot to add, I am wearing a good friend's dress. My fiance was at her wedding and saw her in. And a few of our guests were at that wedding. This dress has good karma and I feel like a bride in it and that's all that matters.
  2. Keep the dress, it was the "one" when you tried it on. None of your guests were at that wedding and trust me no one at the hotel is going to come up to you and say anything. You will look unique and beautiful.
  3. Ooh, I like it, it has a Spanish flair which is perfect for a Mexican destination wedding. Have you thought about a spanish inspired red fan, or having you FI wear something red?
  4. Carry it on, amazon.com sells cheap black formal length travel bags that you can put on top of whatever it is in for extra protection, I have that and a breathable gown bag.
  5. I am paying for the dresses. I told them a color to work with and emailed a few dresses I liked, with the guidelines: no heavy satins, think light and airy chiffon/silks. Then told them I will give them up to $100 bucks for a dress, if they score a deal they keep the difference. Try off the rack, these bridesmaids companies are such a scam.
  6. I think you are doing enough, don't stress out. OOT bags vs bonfire bbq, are you kidding? BBQ!
  7. Thanks for the review, so excited for my RMB wedding this spring
  8. love the picutres, we are doing RMB too, and my bridesmaids picked turquoise, it looks so good in your pics
  9. Calling all RMB brides. Please let me know about having a private beach reception at RMB. I have seen some info on this on past threads but want to know more. How many guests do you need, what did it look like, what kind of food and beverages. Do you have a dance floor, or is it just sand, did you hire entertainment, use an ipod, do a slide show? Can you set up a table with placecards? Love to hear your stories and advice.
  10. Brian Nejedley, he is American and live in Jamaica. His website is briandesigns.com
  11. What about sparklers, you can get really long ones, they last longer and look great in pictures. A friend had them at her wedding, we lit them and the newlyweds ran thru as the photographers took pictures. Looked great.
  12. My proposal was an easter egg hunt. My whole family was in on it. It was really a surprise.
  13. Great idea but getting postage might be bummer. Any recent Brides know where to get postage? I have been to resorts that have local postage at their gift store, maybe your resort also has it?
  14. I think you willl be happy that you have smaller amount of guests. You will actually have time to spend with them and it will be a more personal experience. Many of my friends with large weddings barely remeber it because they had to spend the whole thing trying to hello to each guest. One friend even asked how the food was because she never even had a chance to taste it. Take advantage and get really good pics with the ones who come, then rub it in those who flaked faces. Once they see those pics they will wish they went!
  15. I have been to Rockhouse (great food) and it's beautiful and dramatic. Catcha Fallin Star is also beautiful and near by, it's not as built up, it's more rustic, and food is really good, best jerk Shrimp ever. I stayed at Country Country on the beach side of Negril and it was really nice too, but very small. Country Country is a sister resort to Coyuba. We met a Bride who had their wedding at Coyuba and loved it, then honeymooned at Country Country. We looked into smaller resorts but it was too expensive for the guests for just a weekend (we have alot of weekend guests) and Negril is a hour and a half from the Mo'bay airport. The bigger resorts just have better deals. Good luck.
