  1. My parents visited the resort while they were vacationing at the other property in ocho rios. They said they loved it and were sad that next year for their return visit, they couldn't go there. I hope everyone enjoys the next few months left there!
  2. thank you everyone for your input and advice! you have helped A LOT!!! It seems like all of the resorts are gorgeous and have their own ambiance. I can't wait to read everyone's wedding reviews, and hopefully that will also help in making our decision. lol thank you again for all of your help!
  3. We just began looking at Sandals weddings and was hoping someone could help me with a few questions or direct me to where we may find the answers. We were planning on getting married here in the US before we had our actual "wedding" away, so I was thinking we could just do the renewal of vows ceremony. But then on Sandals website, it says you needs a copy of your marriage certificate before scheduling your renewal of vows ceremony. We are planning on getting married here a few weeks before our destination wedding. I am not even sure we would have our marriage certificate back before we left for our destination wedding. Is there away around this? I would like to schedule everything in advance and let people know the actual day we would be having our ceremony in case people decide they don't want to stay as long as the rest of us. A few other questions that maybe people could help out with since I'm new to this: 1. If you have a renewal of vows ceremony, can you add extras such as photography, reception, etc? 2. Is Breezes cheaper that Sandals? 3. Since sandals is a couples resort, what happens if guests aren't married or with someone? can same sex friends share rooms? how does that work? 4. Is there a certain Sandals hotel that is "cheaper" then the rest of them? Sorry I have so many questions, but my parents just got back from a Sandals vacation and they LOVED it, so it made us really interested in Sandals resorts!
  4. I have heard great things about Dreams resorts in general. I know people who went to the one in Cancun and loved it! I would browse the forums for reviews! Good luck and happy wedding planning!

And Atlantic City is like my home away from home (since I've grown up in the area). If anyone is looking for more information on any of these areas let me know! Happy planning!

All of the other resorts didn't seem to have as many amenities in their wedding packages, check them out! wow that price sounds like a steal! when are you getting married?

I agree. Your wedding is only a few months away, and you don't want to have to be worrying about a NEW hotel/vendors/etc! Definitely express your concerns and see what they can do for YOU since they are changing things all of a sudden. Maybe you can get a few freebies out of it! Try not to stress... easier said then done. I am sure your wedding day will be incredible either way!
  8. I was wondering the same thing... I thought DR was a little cheaper then other places until I saw how the "all inclusive" resorts are charging extra for dinner and stuff. I am leaning towards Grand Palladium because of 4 hotels in 1 choice. I am not sure if a lot of people will even come. I do seem to have a hard time getting any prices for Grand Palladium resorts though. I guess they book up fast? Or maybe I need to get a travel agent lol

Just give it a few more weeks I'm sure by then they will be there! (Don't bother with expida they never have it, you'd have to call them) ok thanks!
  10. carribbeanlover... I noticed your date is in april 2010. I was just wondering if you went through a travel agent to get your hotel reservations or used an online site? I keep looking online and can't get any prices for next april. Thanks in advance!
  11. I don't think its wrong to have it on another date. Maybe have your favors just say "10 year anniversary" instead of the actual date on them would be better tho. That way you don't have to actually put a date on it! Good luck!

  13. I think the whole idea of having a destination wedding, especially in punta cana, is to have a more laid back attitude about everything. alot of people seem to stress about not talking to their wedding coordinator every month(and i dont mean to offend anyone)... but its a more laid back attitude there. I think not stressing over centerpieces and such is a great benefit to have a DW! good luck!
  14. thanks! i thought since its only 8 months away there would be prices online since other resorts have their prices posted. maybe I will just go to a TA. did you used a local TA or one online?
  15. i agree! vistaprint is a great deal just sign up for their free newsletter and u can order stuff for free all u have to pay for is shipping! hth!
  16. I am looking online for April or May 2010 for any Grand Palladium Resort in Punta Cana and it keeps coming up on different online sites that the dates aren't available. I never went to a travel agent and asked... but was wondering if its booked up already. Is that a popular time of year Any else having this problem? Thanks in advance!
  17. wow, seeing everyone elses totals.. i hope i can stick to the amount i want to spend which is around 5000k. well see what happens!
