We bought a Bose portable dock. It came with a messenger bag for much easier carry on and can be used in our home. The mic is cool but is it needed. I think the Bose is better quality. -

Also, they are going to try and change Michaels flight so that he can do my wedding in May! How nice is that! I am trying not to get my hopes up yet, but hopefully they will be available to book. If not, I would still recommend them based on my long conversation with Phil last night. He is extremely kind and really just wants you to enjoy your day!! Thanks again for posting! I hope you get Michael too! Phil is doing my wedding which is the day before yours! They both seem like great people and are awesome photographers. Their work is beautiful! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I follow the facebook page but I'm dying to see pictures! I'm sure your wedding was amazing but you def have to update us all! Any advice/reviews?

I think I can do it MUCH cheaper this way and know exactly what I am getting. I read somewhere that one of the girls went to a market nearby. Did you happen to go on your visit? I was hoping to use some of the items from the market in my OOT bags to avoid packing as much as possible but wasn't sure what they sold their exactly! If you have any info on this as well I would love to hear about it!! Thanks!! I looked at Florian's work online and Phi's online and in the facebook group for majestic brides. He goes down for a few weeks at a time so the brides all share him so his rates are very reasonable. I recommend contacting him! I did not go to any markets outside the resort and just plan on checking extra luggage.

Welcome Crystal and Matt. I am getting married May 18, 2010 at the Colonial side and then switching over to the Elegance club for my 2nd week there. I did a site visit May 09 and was torn between what side to have our wedding on but we decided on the colonial and saved the elegance for ourselves. We chose the colonial because my family has been to the colonial 5 times and we know the management and figured it made sense since they always do extra for us when we are their and would be helpful during my wedding and do extra things for us there too but I loved the elegance and I'm sure you will have an awesome and beautiful day on that side too! We hired Photophil (Steingard Studios) to do our pictures, Florian from wedding video punta cana for our video, and pastor york to do our ceremony! We are almost at 6 months so I can't wait to get there and get married! I also am using a vendor from on here plumeriasweddingflowerboutique to do my flowers since the majestic charges alot for flowers and I didn't like the quality or the fact that they wouldn't guarantee flower options. Goodluck with your planning and if you need anything keep posting!

PPR Room Upgrades
MexicoBeachBride2010 replied to Lindsay521's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I know we booked the majestic elegance for our 2nd week in Punta Cana and they offer their "club" service. Our TA suggested booking this if we wanted it because these options book up quickly and aren't really upgraded. I don't know if you care or if it is the same but maybe book the lowest level in that royal service and hope for an upgrade into a better room within the royal service. I've traveled and been to many resorts and I have never seen that many category upgrades, normally they bump you up one or two room categories. Good luck! -

Hi may girls, I am getting married alittle after you all on the colonial side. I was there May 2009 for a site visit and would definitely recommend the gazebo or a different beach location (don't know if they do it) because the existing beach location has people really close to your ceremony and they are in swim wear so it can interfere with pictures/video...if it doesn't bother you then beach it up. I think the free dinner is worth it and Maritee told me the wedding menu is set and it is combo steak and fish with veggies and potato. You can pay $$$$ for lobster or other menus but I thought the menu was fine. The other restaurants are nice but I don't think they set up the wedding dinner anywhere else except the steak or seafood restaurant. We used a travel agent to organize everyone's details and to get us a group rate for airfare and check in at the hotel. I am so excited and can't wait for May to get here! I ordered real touch flowers for my wedding from plumeria wedding flower boutique that I found on here and ordered a toss bouquet so I could see everything early and I just got it today and it's awesome! I am using Photophil for my photograpy and florian from video punta cana for my videography.

Waiting to hear back from Sandra and hope she gets back to me soon! I would not give your guests an option. I would suggest having everyone stay on the same side of the resort otherwise you won't really be able to hang out all together because you can't use the amenities on the side you aren't staying on and have to pay a guest pass fee. This can make your wedding less connected and the elegance only charges alittle more.
