I'd be interested to see what other brides have done but I thought it would be nice to ask. Lauren

They have a trio or the band you can hire but you know the prices, I don't know if they have anyone for an hour. We are bringing a bose and making playlists of the songs we want. You can search for bands in punta cana but you will have to pay $50 per person to bring them in. Another option is DJ Mannia, it's not a band but I heard he's really good and his prices weren't too bad, my fiance and I just decided for the amount of people we have we would buy a bose ipod dock and make our own playlists and this way we have the bose for our house after our wedding. Sorry, I know this isn't exactly the info you wanted but maybe you'll like one of the other option?! Good luck!

They have live music every night at the terrace bar by the gazebo and buffet restaurant. Some nights it's a sax player others its a band. It's a nice spot!

I don't want to see a speedo as much as the next person when I'm eating (ever) but it seems like a lot of work. Buffet is more relaxed. I was there in May and I would wear my bathing suit with a cover up and my fiance would wear his swim trunks and a tshirt. We would both wear flip flops and that was fine. They just want you covered. For dinner you must wear nicer clothes to any of the restaurants but the only restaurant for pants and closed shoes is the french restaurant. All the other ones you can wear nice shorts and nicer flip flops without problems. We ate at the seafood restaurant the one night and my fiance wore a nice tshirt and shorts and this was fine, a man walked in with his swim trunks and a tshirt and they asked him to change and come back. Hope this helped!
  5. You said you had a make up and hair person come to the resort. Who did this and how did you find this? This is something I am interested in! Please let me know. Also, your day sounded wonderful and you looked beautiful! I am using Phil and Florian too and I am so glad you have great things to say about each! Thanks for the review!
  6. After 11pm the disco is open. The presidential suite has a living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, bedroom. It's huge...but you still have to be quite because people are around and below. You could still hang out though and have a fun time. I would recommend it if you are going to pay for a private dinner, if you aren't I would think about it. It can be hard to round everyone up to go to dinner and get them over to the suite. Also you would have to consider drinks also. Doing open bar makes the most sense.
  7. the bride and groom get the room for their wedding night but the party must shut down at 11pm. I was there in May and toured this option. It's beautiful but my fiance and I didn't want to spend all the extra money. We wanted to do the free dinner and you can still do that with the presidential suite but it seemed like such a waste of time having guests trek back and forth to this spot.

I did notice they are running a 12% off but wasn't sure if that was the same promotion you were referring to or not. Thanks! No has to be through Liberty Travel I think since they had the promotion advertised in the newspaper. I booked with them originally and then my TA always looks for the lowest prices and since they are having a sale we got lower prices.
  11. Hey Everyone! If you haven't booked...consider booking now! I booked through liberty travel in July 2009 and the majestic is now offering a special, buy 3 get 1 free nights. We just saved an additional $200+ for 7 nights per person depending on what room you booked! We are staying 2 weeks so we will save even more for the 2nd week!

Thanks for your help! that seems alittle high to me I thought it wad around 300.

Just a few questions: I am doing a symbolic ceremony, do I need to bring my marriage license with me for this?My fiance and I are going to a JP within the next month, so I am not sure if I will receive it in time. Also, what type of decorations does the resort provide for the reception? It is my understanding I have to bring most of the decorations. Are chair sashes provided, or table runners? I am trying to make a list. What about the paper lanterns I see in a lot of photos, do brides bring those? I am less than 4 months out and I suppose I have some decsions to make, I wonder if it's a bad thing I am not stressing over any of this! Hi! I am getting married May 18, 2010 and try to be relaxed too! But to answer your questions you do need proof you are married for the symbolic ceremony. Getting married before you go with the JP should give you some kind of paper/certificate even if the official one isn't there yet. You pretty much have to bring down any decorations you want. They do white table cloths, chair covers, etc but bring sashes if in your wedding color if you want them or table runners etc. I bought paper lanterns at Michaels for our reception so you'd have to bring those too. Let me know if you have any questions because I was they May 2009 for a vacation and site visit and got to see things and ask questions. I met Maritee and was really looking forward to working with her but I'm sure Claudia will be just as good! Congrats!
  14. I love these! Awesome job! I live near Philadelphia so I hope I can order these for around the same price you got them. I really wanted to do them but they have been very expensive! Thanks for posting!
  15. I am doing a DUKE basketball garter and I ordered mine through garters by kristi mentioned above and love it! My fiance is going to be really surprised!

Phil is doing our wedding and their work is amazing. Not sure if they will still be there but they are awesome!
  17. you can do this only if you have an ipod nano. it is under the music settings. I just got an ipod touch and they don't have it on there but I bought my fiance an ipod nano for his birthday and it's on there!
