White Bikini - Where did you get yours?
ksryan replied to Sannjn's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
for as expensive as the suits are you'd think the body would come with it!!! -
so how many are going just the 2 of you?
ksryan replied to barefootbeachbride's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I was wondering this same thing.... It seems like everyone has friends with money. I dont have hardly any family/friends that could afford to come with us. And i wouldnt want to ask my friends to spend their one vacation a year on a trip for me. Originally it was just going to be the two of us but my dad was really hurt by this and now my parents and brother are planning on coming. Wish you both all the best. Hope you have a wonderful, beautiful, intimate time together and a new start. -

Rehearsal Dinner - who to invite?
ksryan replied to DGG's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
shoot we didnt even have aunts and uncles --- waaaay to many of them! we just had the wedding party, parents, siblings and grandparents. Everyone completely understood that a line has to be drawn somewhere. Actually the aunts/uncles from each seperate family made their own plans to go to dinner together anyhow. -
congrats hun hope you are having fun with it!

Where are you staying? I have been twice (last was just 1/09) and stayed at turtle bay resort on the north shore both times. Get a rental car and just explore its beautiful and laid back. let me know if you have any questions!

Ladies Please Don't Forget......

If people traveled to a resort to come to a destination wedding they deserve a thank you note for spending their vacation money to visit you/us. Otherwise - normal wedding not traveling far really -- just if they got you a gift. Just my thoughts -
Distance from Airport
ksryan replied to JennLizFran's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Yea that probably would be too much bus/flying etc in a short time. I went to OR in 2005 and absolutely loved it and the drive wasnt bad. Particularly since the driver stopped half way and we grabbed a couple red stripe for the drive! But yes it was 2 hours not including the hour plus we spent in line going through customs getting bags etc. have fun!!! -
life is crazy.... here's my real life story. While in my senior year at college - VA Tech (GO HOKIES!!!) I met the man of my dreams (Steven). After a month of dating and both realizing this was the real deal one day Steven wasnt doing well. His mouth wasnt moving quite right. Well an emergency room visit later revealed the worst possible finding. He had a brain tumor. The scary 95% die within 6 months - 1 year kind of brain tumor. He had surgery x 2, chemo, radiation, and drug trial treatments with the best brain tumor center on the east coast (Duke). And the amazing thing was that he lived. He kept fighting. In fact he flourished just as our relationship did. He got is masters while doing chemo, and helped me get through physician assistant school. We got married and honeymooned at sandals ocho rios in jamaicia. Well one of his closest friends mike lived 300 miles away from where we were living while finishing school back in our home town - he was a groomsmen in our wedding. I met him 2 or 3 times beforehand and thought he was a great guy - lots of fun, and a great friend to Steven. 4 yrs after Steven had been diagnosed he stopped responding to the treatments and the tumor reappeared. It spread dramatically fast and he passed away May 24, 2007 in my arms at duke university hospital. It was the hardest time of my life - I was completely devestated. A few months later I called mike (we were living in the same town now) so see if he wanted to get dinner sometime. I was lonely and simply looking for a friend and familar face. After a few months of casual dinners and few movies one night he kissed me. We have spent as much time as possible with each other since that night. It has been a challenge an emotional roller coster for me and he simply just hangs out there and rides right alond side me. He has been incredibly patient and supportive. Well in January he proposed and I am now engaged to marry a groomsmen in my first wedding!!! I cant wait - and I know there is nothing that Steven would want more than to see 2 of the people he loved most to be happy. I cant believe I get to experience true love twice in my life and I am only 26...

Hey everyone, I am so overwhelmed already with just choosing a resort!!! I thought this was supposed to be easier! I've looked at a million alreay it seems like. They are all starting to run together. I've got a meeting with a TA next week so see if they can help narrow down my options. We are looking to have a small quite wedding with just my parents and brother. And I think I have gotten it down to between dreams cancun and tulum. Personally I think I like tulum better. Seems quieter and more resturant choices. My dad though isnt a big beach person and the golf at cancun is perfect for him. Anyone else having a hard time making a decision between these two?? I liked PA to for everything except the lack of a beach... argh. Anyone have family stay/move to a different dreams resort? I was wondering if it would be too difficult to have my parents and brother come to tulum for 3-4 days do our (symbolic) wedding early in the week and then they could go to dreams cancun so they could enjoy there and the golf and we could have a few days to ourself. I would like to think that if I could just get a place picked then the rest would be easy... any ideas or clarification would be appreciated! Thanks!

My fiance and I are looking to get married in mexico at an all inclusive but really neither of our families can travel due to health and financial reasons. I was wondering if anyone else is having a DW with just the 2 of you and then going back for a reception at home with family and friends I must say that my situation is a little different also. I am a widow who just 4 years ago had a beautiful big themed colors, etc wedding and just want this one to be romantic and simple and no fuss - but still beautiful and memorable. thanks...

amesharpe's Dreams Tulum Wedding Review

oh my gosh your pictures are amazing! I;m gonna have to find a professional! -
i love waimea bay and sunset beach. Though both are busy places and may not be that private for a bbq. A super quiet place beautiful though without a bathroom is Kahana bay just below the tip on the east side but not far. There is a beautiful place - kailua beach park but its on the south east part of the island.
