  1. Check out villa la estancia. It's next to villa del arco but a bit more upscale. It's all privately owned, so if you book on vrbo.com you can find some great rates. We absolutely love it there and are having all our guests stay there for our wedding! It's close enough to town to walk along the beach, yet far enough away to be rather private.
  2. I don't know how I missed this...but I wanted to drop in and say congrats Jenny! I know how patiently you've been waiting for this moment! Yay!!
  3. We sent ours out about a month ago. I made some cute postcards on vistaprint that I'll send out once flights come out, just letting everyone know flights are available and reminding them of our TA contact info. Also, I booked our welcome dinner on the Cabo Mar. When we were in Cabo I noticed it in the marina and thought there was no way it was in our price range. I wasn't getting much correspondence from the Sunrider though so I e-mailed my coordinator at Cabo del Sol to see if she could help out and she ended up getting me a rate that was lower than the Sunrider! Just thought I'd let you girls know in case you are interested in welcome cruises as well.
  4. Your wedding sounds wonderful! Thanks for the review! I can't wait to see pictures.

  6. For Cabo brides still looking into sunset cruises, we booked our private sunset dinner cruise on the Cabo Mar Cabomar Dinner cruise, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Los Cabos We worked with Yolanda to reserve the boat and she has been wonderful to work with!
  7. In early June the sunset will begin by about 6:45. Looks like your wedding is mid-May so it will start to get dark at about 6:30 during that time of year.
  8. Everything looked wonderful! What boat were the cruise pictures taken on? Thanks for sharing!!
  9. My wedding is in June and we originally had our ceremony scheduled for 6, but our photographer had us change it to 5 due to the sunset time. Cocktails will be 5:30-6:30 and reception starts at 6:30.
  10. It all looks wonderful! Thank you so much for posting! All your DIY time has really paid off!
  11. Everything looks so wonderful! I'm sure your wedding was amazing and your guests really appreciated all the hard work you put into it!
  12. Your guests are really going to appreciate all the hard work you have done! Everything looks great! Congrats!

I hear alot of good things about David Flores, I emailed him a while back but he never responded. When you talked with him did he send you an audio or video recording of him playing. It makes me a little uneasy booking someone who I have not heard play before. This is who she recommended for Mariachis: Mariachis Jaliciense David did not send a recording, but I do have his song list. I'll attach it here. REPERTORIO DAVID FLORES.doc

I keep telling myself I gotta scale down somewhere (budget wise) but its hard when there is always something that is a little nicer. We're the same way. We are planning on a minimum of 40 guests, but are still debating the same thing. Originally we had the same plan as you, and now we're discussing ipod at ceremony and cocktail and band at the reception. If only bands weren't SO expensive down there! Decisions, decisions! Who are you thinking of for guitar and mariachi, if you don't mind me asking? We've talked with David Flores and DJ Mijares (I believe he plays guitar as well), but never made a final decision, obviously, lol!
  15. Susanna, Luz Maria also referred me to Cabo Flowers, but we decided to go with Lola at Florenta instead. She has such great reviews on here and gave us a great quote, so I feel safe with her. As far as music, we're still trying to decide between a band and a DJ, so I can't be of much help with that one. By the way...Welcome to Vness33 and SouthernSweetie - Congrats ladies!
  16. I think it's best to evaluate what you really want for your wedding and guests. Since not all your choices are all inclusive I would consider the pros and cons of that based on your preferences and your guest list. We decided not to go all inclusive and instead have our guests stay in an all villa location where they have the option of eating out at the great restaurants around town, or eating out within the resort, or preparing food/drinks with items purchased from Costco/Wal-Mart. Since we are providing dinner for our guests on 3 nights we just didn't think they would get their full "moneys-worth" out of an all-inclusive. Another thing I notice with your choices is that they are pretty spread out geographically. We really wanted our guests to be within walking distance of Cabo San Lucas so they could experience the town without paying an arm and a leg for a taxi ride. So that's something to take into consideration as well. As far as the day of the week - we went with Friday because we didn't want guests packing up right away after the wedding to get back to work. We figured this way they would have all day Saturday to relax and could leave Sunday to start the work week. In your case, a similar argument could be made for a Thursday wedding. Sorry for rambling...I hope this helps in your decision! Good Luck!

Also, what location are you girls using for save the dates etc? Cabo del Sol, Cabo del Sol Clubhouse, Cabo del Sol Golf Club.....? Susanna, I'm pretty sure Cabo del Sol is technically considered in Los Cabos, because it's about 15 minutes from the actual town of Cabo. I think maybe they put Cabo San Lucas on things because it is more recognizable and is the closest town. I put Cabo del Sol Golf Clubhouse on our save the dates. I also refer to it as being located in Los Cabos, but there is a map on the back page of the save the dates that explains the Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos/San Jose del Cabo layout. Hope this helps!
  20. This planning thread is so great! You've given me some great ideas! Thank you so much for all the details and I'm sure you are going to have a spectacular wedding!!! Congrats!
