Newbie Wedding in Riviera Maya - Mexico
Destination Scout replied to belgiandave's topic in Newbies!!
Congratulations! Welcome to the forum. -
My favorite photographer is Nathan fromDREAMTIME IMAGES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - Colorado, California and destination wedding photographers serving Denver, Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Estes Park, Boulder, Santa Barbara, Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs, San Luis Obispo, Cambria, Phoenix, B He's unavailable Nov. 09-May-10 but if that works into your schedule I'd give him serious consideration. Not only are his colors vivid and his images definitely pop, he's a WPJA award winner 13 times and awesome to hang out with. His package includes photography the entire time he is with you, so it really is econimical if you were going to get a TTD session anyways. He does have associates that are working while he is gone. They are also great.

We set up our own photo booth. All you need is a tripod, a camera with a remote and a way to make sure that people don't move the camera. I like these high quality photos much better than the table cameras, and yes, they are much cheaper. I'll post a link to our photobooth pictures when I get home tonight.

My bridal bouquet was made of burgandy calla lilies, which they had to import. It was $350, but she through in orchids for my hair. I also ordered palm leaves with bougenvilla for decoration in the sand and those were $7/piece. Julieta also coordinates weddings in Cancun, so if you need anything else like cakes, excursions, hair/make-up, she can take care of all of that for you and the more you use her the bigger the discount in service you will get. I just heard from her today and she mentioned that she has been on vacation, but that she is back now. If you e-mail her, please tell her that I said hi. Welcome! I know that you'll find lots of great information here.

Welcome Carly! You've joined a great group of girls. I look forward to hearing more of your planning.

Absolutely gorgeous Kristy! The photos of the grandparents in the locket and frames got me to cry (both times). The children were adorable. The ruins were amazing. And you were stunning. I loved the white board idea and your catamaran troop looked like a hoot. Well coordinated. It looks like all of your guests had a great time.

I am excited to hear everyone's great ideas!

Wedding dates and kids?
Destination Scout replied to Peachy~Girl's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think it depends on the age of the children. My son is in high school and it would be a big deal because he has finals. As long as the children are younger than that, though, I think you are fine. I would just run it by your sister as a "what if?" -
Good and bad news for our wedding.

Thanks for asking! I'm a wc/vacation coordinator specializing in boutique hotels. Usually I get sent to places that don't have enough information available to plan on the web (Tulum, Guatemala, small islands in the Carribean). For example, I'll fly to Belize, spend a week looking for that perfect place and hiring everyone you need to make your event special. I like to use local small business owners that are good at what they do, but not necessarily savvy about getting their information out on the internet. Then I just come back for the event and make sure it all runs according to plan. I do everything from meeting people at the airport, excursions, and of course the wedding itself. I obviously fly wouldn't need to fly anywhere, but everything else still applies. It's just easier because I'm here, know the area and speak the language fluently:) -

It's a great choice. I don't know what you were planning to do for photos but you have some great locations in AZ, using Hells Pass, on your way to Globe, or Sedona, or Saguaro Lake (or all of the above). I know that our photographer has been wanting to get out here and climb....we'd be happy to house him for you if you wanted to bring him out (DREAMTIME IMAGES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - Colorado, California and destination wedding photographers serving Denver, Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Estes Park, Boulder, Santa Barbara, Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs, San Luis Obispo, Cambria, Phoenix, B). Oh pretty please let me help. There are so many great things that you could do right here in town! -

I love the Montelucia. We were there just a few weekends ago. Let me know if you need any help. -
OK, I pulled out my dream book "Colin Cowie's Extraordinary Weddings". There is a wedding in there at the Capri Palace Hotel on the island of Capri. It's absolutely gorgeous but probably not what you are looking for @ 350 euro's per couple in low season, but maybe it's possible to just have the event there. I don't know how large your guest list is, but I found this Villa Le Scale, Capri - Benvenuti nell'isola di Capri available for rent for the week or for an event. For a more affordable destination, what about Germany. An absolutely romantic country full of lush hillsides, vineyards and castles lies http://www.ngsprints.co.uk/images/M/721173.jpg and a beautiful little mansion with 18 rooms and fantastic food as 60 Euros a night. Welcome Heather! It sounds like you don't have a WC, who would usually get you all the paperwork and appointments. Maybe your hotel can give you contact information for the JP? Good luck and I look forward to hearing more from you.

How very very cool! Congratulations!

A) The first rule of the forum is to not argue with the moderators. Their job is to keep the forum a pleasant place and sometimes that means curbing your tongue. There are a lot of readers on the forum and what some people think are offensive, others will not. There job is to make sure everyone is comfortable and that means even the few that may not have your sense of sensitivity. I honestly haven't looked into flights from Canada, so I don't know what is considered affordable from there. I've seen flights to europe the same price as flights to the islands, so it may all be your choice in season. When your fiance ruled out such places as Mexico and Thailand it really sounded like he wanted everyone to be comfortable traveling, even those who have never further than the post office. If that is your guest list I think he has narrowed down you list of countries to a great list. Now you just need to start looking for places in those areas. I am sure you will find loads of information here on the forum. I've seen some beautiful resorts in Italy. I have a book at home. I'll look at it tonight for you. I agree that Greece is another great choice for you. C) On the concept of all inclusive. If you bring a large group to a resort, most will work with you to build what you want into the price. If you want to offer an all-inclusive package at a non-allinclusive resort, they may be willing to work with you. D) What is it you are really looking for? Unique? Fantastic service? White coated servers and well orchestrated events? If cost is an issue for some of your guests you may have to find a fantastic smaller hotel and bring in the staff for your big event.

Newbie! Tulum? PV? Cabo? Cannot decide!
Destination Scout replied to buehler.allison's topic in Newbies!!
Congratulations! This is a great place to get information. 150 is a lot of people for Tulum unless you are thinking of GBP or Blue Tulum, or maybe having your ceremony at Cesiak (big maybe, I'd have to look at it with this in mind). I know that Akumal, which is nearby has a resort that may have something large enough for you and you would still get that boutique feel (just not the same beach). When is the wedding? I have a trip down to Tulum this Nov and you could either join me or I could look for something specific for you. -
I used Julieta. Her flowers were beautiful, she was reliable and on time. She is a doll to work with. [email protected]

Congratulations! I feel your pain. It seems like there is so much information on the internet, but not enough of what you actually need to know. I would suggest you book your photographer if you are sure about them. If they are traveling with you, you don't need an exact date and they really don't care where you are sending them. That's what I did and it was the best decision we made. We have a very active RM forum here, so hopefully you can find what you are looking for. Good luck and let us know if you need anything!

Kelly it's time to delegate. Have the fiance do the slidewhow and have turn one of your weddign showers into a flower making party.
