I thought this might be useful for everyone... When we were there in 2007 we received a booklet that had a resort map as well as a listing of the pools, restaurants, etc...so I have cut, paste, typed, and scanned in order to get this information to fit to one page that we are including in everyone's OOT bags. This might be good for you ladies to take a look at so you can get and idea of where everything is located. I'm a very "visual" person so hopefully this helps a few others as well... Map of GBP.pdf

We are in the Coba section because everyone in our group will get a junior suite. We're not too worried about it being a bit of a walk to the beach. Lots of us have kids and will probably spend more time at the pool. One thing that I did feel was a bit of a sacrifice was the gazebo at the GP. I loved it!! Amazing...but really anywhere we are will be amazing

I was in the same situation 7 months ago when we were trying to choose between the two resorts. We ended up going with the GBP because of a few things...but the bottom line was the pricing and the familiarity with the resort. Initially, I thought it would be so much better to try something "new" because we had already been to the GBP...but now that has come down to the final weeks...I am so pleased that we stuck with a place that we already knew because I have the "visual" to what I'm expecting. I think I would have so many questions and doubts if we had gone with GP because you never really know what to expect until you've been there. I know that each one is beautiful and has it's pros and cons. The GP has a cool "informal" website for Palladium Addicts. The GBP has tons of information on this BDW site. As far as the beaches...I think it's fairly common anywhere in that area because of the reef. I am totally pleased with our Gran Bahia Principe (Coba) decision and there's no looking back...

RANT- screaming babies in fancy restaurants

I have children and I would be completely embarrassed if I took my infant to a restaurant and he/she screamed the whole time. I am not selfish enough to stay in the restaurant and ruin everyone else's meal therefore I would leave with my child. I also agree that infants should be allowed anywhere...but with that said...I hope that parents have consideration for others. -
Congratulations...have a beautiful day

I haven't been there yet but I hear it is absolutely fantastic. All my friends have been... have two friends (Paul & Bev) who are affiliated with the restaurant but I just don't know to what capacity (investors?)...but I know that Bev picked out the artwork for the place. What are your friends names?

Count me in too... Our wedding is coming up pretty quickly...less than a month until we hop on a plane to the Mayan Riviera. Same date as you Ashley...just this year instead of next year. We're getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe...so if anybody in this area has any special requests for anything to be brought back from the resort...just let me know. Keep me posted on the GTG plans...

We used travel mugs (mini bubba kegs) as well. We decided not to do the logo because of timing, our budget and we wanted people to use them after our trip. We are also giving most of them out before we go so we don't have to pack another suitcase full of mugs. We use them all the time when we travel and I agree...they keep the drinks cold, sand out, have a handle, and no spilling with a lid!!

I'm with Carly on this one...black is fairly generic and I'm sure nobody will realize (or make a big fuss about) the MOB and MOG both wearing black. I think their accessories will make the difference...but I would certainly be sure not to share any jewelry secrets with the MOG because it sounds like she would make sure they were "twins". Bizarre and inconsiderate...but in the grand scheme of things I would just let it go.

It's a shame... The flowers are beautiful... But not worth the trouble due to the unprofessionalism of the vendor... -

"Tacky" Bridesmaid Dress (theme) for Stagette!!

Tonight is the night ladies!! I'm excited and nervous about what the evening will bring and what my friends have in store for me... I will post pictures of my tackiest girls as soon as I have them...and after the hangover subsides of course -
Same thing for me too... I made a joke to the jewelry store clerk one day that my ring (with no matching wedding band) was made for the "fiance who doesn't want to follow through with the marriage"...LOL...of course she didn't find it funny but I was only joking!! I have decided to go with a regular channel band that lines up fairly well with the smaller diamonds that are on each side of the larger one...but there is still a bit of a gap. I did find a claw band that butted up against it better but I really didn't want a claw. The jeweler also told me they could niche out a bit of my e-ring at the bottom to make something snug up against it...but I just don't want to comprimise the e-ring or the band in case I want to wear them seperately for whatever reason. I'm settling...and I'm totally ok with it
