  1. Does anyone know how to check what your side profile (under your avatar) says without posting something? The only way I can see my details is if I post something...so I won't even know if I'm a "noob" or not until this posts.
  2. Wow...great tips!! Who knew about the white chalk?!?! Good one...
  3. Check out Wholesale Wedding Supplies, Discount Wedding Favors, Party Favors, and Bulk Event Supplies They have tons of different shapes, sizes, colors, and you can order them individually or in multiples. I have an order in with them right now (not lanterns) and they seem to be really good to deal with. Good luck in your search!!
  4. Hello...I am just wondering about the maracas. Do you have a picture of them? How big are they? Do they make much noise when you shake them? We are trying to figure out if we should buy some before we go or just get them when we're in Mexico. Thanks!!
  5. These are all such wonderful tips and great things to consider!!
  6. These are absolutely beautiful!! Does anyone have any suggestions for incorporating our children into the ceremony? I have a daughter and my fiance has 2 sons and we are planning to give them rings as a symbol of our love as a family...and that we are all united through this marriage. I am hoping that the minister will give us a minute or two in order to say something to our children...but I'm not positive on what we should say or how to word it. Any suggestions?
  7. I used these ones... LUG-1845-2001 Colored Semi-Rigid Vinyl Luggage Tag Holder. Clear vinyl face, holds business cards, back side can be custom-printed. They just came in yesterday and they are great for what we're using them for!! The back of them is hard and the front of them is plastic. I can slide a business card (luggage tag info) inside and then loop the strap through to hold it all in. I didn't even think about going with a more flexible one...but it certainly is another option...they're just so hard to come by for a good price in Canada.
  8. Hello Ladies... I am also an October bride...10/15/09 at Gran Bahia Principe Coba in the Mayan Riviera...and it's coming sooooo quickly!! I read all of the posts of where people are at and I feel so behind!! There are also so many cool things to do (DIY projects, OOT bags) that I think I have taken on more than I ever expected with a DW. Good luck and happy planning to everyone

Oh wow...I didn't realize that!! That is perfect...even if it is a bit time consuming. I just didn't want everyone to HAVE to order them through the US website (on their credit cards) so downloading pictures to a USB would be an awesome option!! Thank you!!
  10. I just recently posted this..."Best photoshare website for Canadian brides"...so would you say that Shutterfly is an option? I am looking for something along the same lines where people don't have to sign up for an account...they just use a username and password that we give to them. I would also like for people to be able to have the option of where they want to have their pictures printed. I know that with some websites, you have to order prints from that website...but I can foresee problems with some of our guests giving out their credit card numbers...and then there is the exchange rate. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
  11. My sister had her wedding at the Grand Marival in Nuevo Vallarta in 2003 and it was wonderful!! In my opinion, the resort itself was one of the best in the area. Tons of things provided in the all-inclusive resort package, great food, and close to alot of other amnenities (sp?) like a shopping plaza, dolphin swim, etc...in the area. The wedding itself was beautiful...right on the beach at sunset. We had a private dinner outside of a restaurant (kind of like a patio to the restaurant) and it was so nice because it was just "us". The whole concept of a DW was so great that I decided to do it myself although we're doing ours on the carribean side of Mexico (Mayan Riviera).
  12. Wow...I can't believe it's your big day right away!! Have an absolutely amazing time...and wishing you all the best!!
  13. Your pictures are absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for your review...and it looks / sounds like you had just as great of a time in Cuba as you would have in Mexico. It just makes the statement ring true..."it's not where you are, it's who you're with"...

Nice!!! I agree... I'm also very curious about the TA...I'm from Red Deer as well and talked to a few questionable ones before I found the perfect one for our group...and it's been a great experience so far...
  15. I know exactly how you feel...I don't know if I'm coming or going...and it really just depends on the day!! One day everything is under control...and the next day I freak out ***LOL*** I can say one thing for sure...I've taken on so much more than I ever expected with a DW because I keep reading about all of these really cool DIY projects and OOT bag finds...that I just can't resist. I love this website...but I really need to stop reading!!! Too many ideas and sometimes I feel like I'm losing focus of things that need to be a priority. Phew...feels so much better to let it out...doesn't it?!?!
  16. Have a wonderful time and a beautiful wedding Joanna!! Wishing you all the best
  17. I'm curious if anyone has any information about the poolside reception (coba)...and mainly how they set up the tables, chairs, etc...?
  18. Wow Joss...you have some really good questions! I'm sorry that I can't be any more help because we're in (kind of) the same situation. We are having our wedding at the Tulum Gazebo (staying at Coba) and our time is 2pm...but we have asked a few times to have it at 3pm or 4pm instead. They tell me that we won't know until the time comes...but then how do I tell our guests what time we actually have? I wish you all the best and I'm sure everything will work out just perfectly for you.
