  1. well i finally just narrowed down my ceremony music choices. it took me forever...but i think i got songs that aren't going to make me bawl my eyes out *knock on wood* and that my guests will like too. that list of things to do...is slowly getting smaller ... 12 days til we leave! can't wait! just waiting to hear on 5 more people if they are actually booking. we have way more people coming than we ever expected...should be a blast! i have to say karla has been great to work with. answers all my questions within 24hrs.
  2. so i'm curious...if your MOH & BM can't come...why are they still in your wedding party? are you having an AHR?
  3. wow...that actually made me cry too. what an amazing gesture.
  4. well i can totally relate to your frustrations. i've had my lists going for months too and i'm only weeks away from my wedding. i sit down to go do something and i get so distracted. i'm suffering from wedding ADD or bridal brain or that's what i'm blaming it on...haha. as for making decisions...these are a few tips i started to follow to narrow things down for myself. -keep it simple and elegant -think about why i am doing it -how is this going to look in pictures down the road in 5yrs, 10yrs etc i don't want to have a moment where i did something so overboard that i'm going to be like what the hell was i thinking. this was the main thing for me...after i realized that it made it easier to go with my gut instinct and follow my simple & elegant theme good luck!
  5. welcome...and congrats. i'm getting married there in a few weeks so feel free to ask any questions. be sure to check out the thread for gran bahia principe brides! lots of helpful info!
  6. i'm not sure where you saw that on tripadvisor, cuz i don't see it...but i think cabos is still a safe place. travelling to any city or country you have to take precautions against crime.
  7. well i finished up the newsletter last night...and it took forever. these DIY projects take me so long. (i'm taking a break from the 'shake at the kiss favour tags') anyways...i printed it out and the formatting is good, so since i have all of our guests email addresses i will send them that way, then if they want they can print it out. if not that's ok too, better for the environment...right!
  8. do you have a picture of the dress to show us? it might help. etiquette says it's not proper to wear white to a wedding, but it also says that about black. do you know if the bride is wearing a white dress or different shade (ivory, champagne, silver etc?). if it has a pattern on it, i don't see why it wouldn't be ok to wear it personally. but i am also not a bride who would freak out if someone showed up wearing white.

Most of the stores are selling them for USD $1 and some for more. Hope this helps. thanks so much for letting me know. that's not too bad priced...and cheaper than ordering them beforehand, packing them and bringing them down.

It depends on your skin type, and as mentioned before you should start anywhere between 4-7 minutes for your first time. It also depends on the strengh of the bed - ones where the max is 20 minutes, people who are fair should start at 4 or 5 minutes. Ones with a max of 10 minutes should start at 3 minutes. It's better to leave the first time and not see a big difference, than get burnt and have to wait to go again. also - regarding tanning lotions they are not needed. They can enhance if they have bronzer, but a lot of people don't understand what that means and when they see bronzer they lather it on EVERY time....then come out orange! haha...All your skin needs is moisture before you go in, so any type of lotion will work. Also - a lot of the tanning lotions they sell at salons are for immediate appearance, so it's actually more like those fake tanners that turn people orange than helping your skin. As long as you put a light moisturizer on your skin before going in, you'll get just as good of a tan! oh good tips...thanks for sharing. i'm going to start my tanning this week...only 2 wks before our trip. i'm planning on going 5-6x. it's been about 6yrs since i've used a tanning bed. i'm pretty fair skin and not one to lay out in the sun...but i really don't want 'tan lines' with my wedding dress.
  12. oh ok...good to know. yeah i was thinking of maybe just printing out the wedding day time line for the wedding party
  13. Just wondered if anyone who did a pre-travel brochure or letter emailed it to their guests instead of printing it up and mailing it out? I'm starting to run out of time and was not sure if I will have to time to mail it to everyone beforehand. If email doesn't seem good. Should I just try and give each guest a timeline info when they get to the resort? We are not doing OOT bags. Any input would be appreciated...thanks!
  14. i haven't been there...but i have friends moving there in a few weeks and apparently it is true that the weather is the same all year round and no storms. it's a beautiful island, but small. some cruise ships port there from time to time, you may want to look into that. there aren't much in the choice of all inclusive resorts. good luck!

If your budget allows personalization, that will be a nice personal touch. do you remember about how much it cost for the maracas? we are looking to do the same and i'm trying to figure out the budget. thanks!
  16. oh my goodness...that is terrible. i'm so sorry to hear this is happening. i hope they find him. keep us posted. sending out some good wishes to your family.
  17. i've sorta been dealing with that as well. we got engaged last april and FI went away to school for 3 months, then training for 2 months for his new job. he started working then we started looking at houses in september bought a place and moved in december. i've been doing most of the planning myself too. it's been a little frustrating at times but i realized that even if he was around more...i'd probably still be doing most of the legwork. i think it's just a guy thing...they don't care about all the little details like we do. i'm sure you are doing a fabulous job...and just remember one of the main reasons you picked a DW...because there is less details. keep focus on the important things...like marrying your best friend and being in a beautiful location surrounded by family/friends. good luck!
