Paying own Wedding / Invitations
midnight24 replied to rpingree001's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
we were originally paying 100% for our wedding then my parents offered some assistance and DH father, but not his mother. we decided to not 'single' out anyone so we worded our formal invites with... 'together with our families please join us... etc' it worked out great no one knew and no one complained and all parents were happy we listed them. -

Also for those of you that had a DJ instead of using an ipod....did the money go to the wedding coordinator for her to pay him or did you pay him directly yourself? Thanks! And I'm sure that there will be more questions to come seeing October is approaching faster then I thought it would be! you have to pay cash at the clinic for the blood tests. they say $90usd each...but we couldn't get any money out of the USD ATM in the Coba lobby so we had to get pesos out the ATM at the hacienda. I can't remember what the amount was in pesos, but they will let you know. it's really quick and easy.

how many guests at your wedding?
midnight24 replied to pat291's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
we had 42 including us, in mexico. we didn't do a group rate quote, and our guests picked their own travel dates. which means we had people showing up everyday we we were there. worked out great for us cuz we had time to spend with new people everyday leading up to the wedding. -

Dress shopping pics

i like the strapless ones on you better than the halter. i don't know if it's just the halter is not fitting properly or something but it makes your bust look large. -

Thanks with a small group...just go to the tulum lobby bar. they have a live band...they will be more than willing to play you a song for your wedding dance. it's a fun atmosphere. there is seating, a server to bring drinks or a bar you can walk up and get your own. sometimes i find when it's such a small group it's fun to be around a bunch of people to get things going!

Corset Wedding Dress Question
midnight24 replied to akua420's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
mine wasn't even an option to not have it in. it went to the buttcrack as well and just wouldn't of been appropiate...not would i have wanted to show that. only complaint i have after the fact of wearing it for my wedding and AHR is make sure whoever is tying it up for you knows what they are doing. both days there was some 'drama' getting me tied up. not exactly something i would like to experience ever again. -
Who paid for your dress
midnight24 replied to Lindslou's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
i paid for my own dress and i was a little surprised that my mom didn't actually. she made a big deal about going dress shopping with me everytime i went and didn't want anyone else to go. so when it came time to pay the deposit, pay the remainder and pay the alterations i paid. she didn't even offer. the day of my AHR she offered to pay for my hair/makeup because she said then she wanted to pay for my dress and never got a chance. it's no big deal but she had every chance to pay. she was more than generous with paying for parts of the AHR so i'm not complaining. bottom line...never assume anything. plus i got want i wanted and i'm happy with it, and how much i spent. i went in with a reasonable budget and came way under. -
Which wedding gown should I choose?

sorry but i am not really a fan of the second one at all. the first one is nice but i think it would really depend what it looks like on you. -
Is this dress "beachy" enough?

great pics. i really love that resort for weddings...i wish i had known about it when we were picking a place. -
we did a legal ceremony in mexico and we were told it would take 3-4 months to get the certificate, but we just got it last week. so it only took 6 weeks. why the rush to get it so quickly? there is no timeline on changing your name.
