  1. i used mywedding.com as well. it's soooo easy to use, lots of different templates to choose from so you can still make it unique. it has lots of options to use like music, blog, etc...and most important it is FREE!!!
  2. i haven't had any major stresses...just a few minor ones that have mostly been resolved i think if you are planning a DW you have to keep a few important things in mind: -know what you want before you tell everyone your plans -tell your immediate family your plans right away to make sure they are ok with this descision -keep the wedding party small, less hassles -estimate a budget and what you are willing to go over budget to stay on track -figure out a destination & price you are comfortable having your guests pay, if you don't agree with the 'group rates', don't use it and tell guests the reason why and get them to book on their own trips -don't stress about who is & isn't coming, invite everyone you want there and hope for the best (we told ourselves this from the get go so we wouldn't be upset when people backed out...cuz they will) -remember why you are doing a DW...because it is beautiful, romantic, fun and simple but with all that said these are the things that caused me/us minor stress: -the comments from everyone telling us what they think we should be doing for OUR wedding -the wedding party, we offered to pay for their outfits and a couple people have made this difficult (with being picky, not responding with sizes, and buying something that is not appropriate) -issue with my wedding dress being shortened to much...but i found some flat sandals that will work and they stretched the material to lengthen it 3/4 inch -expenses we did not expect or think of but for the most part with 47 days to go...things are going smoothly and i'm excited for the big day! we did not use a group rate quote and i'm so glad we didn't because it was $300-600 more per person to go and guests that have booked have found much better prices. plus we didn't have to put down non-refundable deposits for people as at least 10 people who said they were coming for sure have backed out.
  3. most guests will not lug a gift to the DW, so it shouldn't even be an issue i'm choosing not to say anything to our guests.

  5. i'm a holistic nutritionist and i don't agree with most diets... but i do agree with the 'eat clean' lifestyle, i think all people should follow these rules. there is so much amazing food out there to eat that isn't processed, and healthy i have a long history of stomach disorders and the only thing that i can do to control it properly without relying on prescription medication is to control what i eat. the eat clean diet has saved my life.
  6. turned out great...easy to edit for other guests i'm still probably too lazy to do that! but thanks for sharing!
  7. i just did this for the 1st time 2 weeks, i could of swore i lost 5lbs afterwards because i was sweating so much...but i didn't. it's intense for sure, not something i would do all the time, but am going to go maybe 1-2x a month now for something different. i went to kula.

We laughed pretty hard because neither of our pictures looked anything alike... but she applied the same makeup the same way! LOL!! We both looked very pretty, I thought. But, I didn't let her put eye liner on me (as a non wedding wearer, that's just too much for me), and I brought my OWN mascara... cause that's gross. well at least you liked your makeup! i'm actually allergic to something in makeup sponges so i will have to bring my own brushes with me so i don't have a reaction that day, and for sure bring my own mascara. for years i thought i was allergic to something in makeup that's why i barely wear any. i wonder if any of my friends coming could do my makeup? maybe i'll ask around.

I have been to both of your restaurant choices and I totally loved the Portifino I found the food amazing there and the decor there is super classy.. Your wedding will be very elegant there. That restaurant has the buffet bar for starters and then we ordered our meals. (not sure if you are limited to one meal because it's a wedding) that would be totally stupid when it is a fully functioning kitchen. I would try asking Karla more questions because that makes no sense that they are limiting you so much. I hope this helps?? sorry if it only adds confusion.... Let me know if i can help. oh this helped...i'm glad to hear someone say they liked the portifino and that it's a classy, elegant restaurant. at the buffet bar for starters what kind of options did they have? how many guests did you have when you were there? i'm still waiting to hear back from karla to see what she says. i'm still undecided about the makeup. i think i might get a trial done here first so i have something in mind at least, or maybe attempt it myself. that's what i'm going to do about my hair. how bad can it be right?! haha...
  10. i've never flown westjet before, only air canada. i've never had a problem with them. you still have so much time to until your wedding date...you don't need to rush & book something so far in advance. i didn't get price packages from TA's until 6 months before. it's still PLENTY of time.
  11. ok ladies...a couple more questions for the ones who have already been married here 1. did you get your makeup done at the spa? what did you think? *reason i'm asking is, i don't wear a lot of makeup normally, but want to look good in my pictures. i don't know if i should attempt something myself, or get someone else to do it. i've never had my makeup done professionally before so i don't know what to expect. do you think it would be best that i go to a place like mac or sephora and get my makeup done professionally there and take a photo and bring it with me to show them at the spa what i want done? 2. has anyone had their dinner at mediterraneo, portifino or el pescador at coba? i think i am leaning towards mediterraneo, or portifino since there are more options. what did you have to eat if you did eat at those places? did you have more than one option. i have a few guests with food allergies (myself included) has anyone ever paid a little extra for a couple meals so the rest of your guests don't have to eat something boring? when i explained to karla a couple months ago the situation she suggested having a vegetarian pasta as our only option to accommodate everyone. FI wasn't too keen on having his wedding day meal be vegetarian. any advice on either topic would be appreciated. thanks so much!
  12. i like the colour of the shirt. it looks good and it's different from the standard white ps. your fireplace/red colour is the same as ours at home too!
  13. haha to each their own, eh. as hilarious as i think it'd be to have some naked people lingering in the back of my wedding photos, i don't think i'd plan to have a wedding that way.
  14. glad i read this post. i was just wondering about what to do for myself. find it interesting you can add your maiden name as your middle name. i think that might solve my problem for deciding on keeping both. great tip!
  15. looks great...so different than any other designs i've seen for that. would love to see what else you've done with the cuttlebug
  16. congrats! thanks for posting the info about MAC...i was thinking about contacting them.
  17. i can't believe i missed this thread too... i was really into collecting brady bunch memorabilia, and 8-tracks...but FI made me get rid of them (8-tracks) when we moved in together...haha i was addicted to buying LP's but i was running out room to store them
  18. i'm very sorry to hear you & your family are going through this tough time. i think you made a very good choice to postpone things and put family first. as disappointing as it may be to have to change plans for now, it doesn't mean you still can't have your beach wedding one day. even if you & your FI or husband have a vow renewal down the road or celebrate one of your anniversaries. this is an unfortunate bump in the road but focus on what is important and that is the time you get to spend with your mom.
  19. oh yeah thanks for posting this again. it's on this site somewhere and i couldn't find it. i was looking for a few of this templates! thanks!

With some exceptions... the fish restaurant is in each hotel property and so is a variation of the italian one. The Gran Tortuga, Tequila... those places are unique to the Tulum property. see that's what is so confusing cuz we are staying at coba and getting married at tulum and we can only eat at coba restaurants.
  21. i'm trying to decide too. i have a couple dresses i bought but not sure how formal or casual the event is going to be...no one will tell me...haha. i don't want to be over dressed or under dressed.
  22. it looks great... your guests will love having all that info on hand i kind of wish i had made one up for our guests
  23. wow...i love them both...but i voted for #1...it's simple (ps. we're having a peacock themed wedding too!)
