  1. You should be able to send things by FedEx or UPS - I would ask the resort which carrier works best and use that one.
  2. I ended up drawing pencil lines on the envelopes and erasing them after I wrote them out. I think they came out fine. I can't worry about things like that. I'm just happy their finished!
  3. Congratulations and welcome from another Jersey Girl!
  4. I say let it drag - if it starts to get in your way or stepped on, then you can bustle it - I lknow I'l be letting my train go - mine isn't very long either. Do you have pics you can post to show?
  5. Congratulations on your new job! The best thing to do is get some "staple" pieces, and then you can mix and match - black, gray & brown pants - a black skirt and a gray skirt. White button down shirts are always in style and go with anything. Black jackets are good, or if that's too dressy, get cardigan sweaters. You can get knit shirts in all different colors and dress them up with scarves or jewelry, or put a sweater over it to look more put together. Wear a pair of heels or boots and that will dress you up as well. Target has some cute dresses too - just make sure they aren't more than an inch or 2 above the knee. Take a look at this article about the 10 essential elements of a woman's wardrobe: Tim Gunn's 10 Essential Elements: Must-Have Basic Wardrobe Pieces for Any Woman | Suite101.com
  6. I MAILED MY INVITATIONS!!!! We're going away for the weekend so I'm hoping I'll have at least a phone call from someone saying they got one by the time I come home!!! I give you DIY girls so much credit - just stuffing, stamping and addressing them was stressful - MAKING them must be insane!
  7. I LOVE keratin! I had it done in April and am having it done again next week! I have thick very wavy hair that I could not blow dry straight by myself. After the keratin I could do it in 10 minutes. Totally worth the money and my hair is highlighted and it doesn't break - it's not chemicals like the Japanese straightening so it doesn't hurt your hair. Here's a before pic: And after:

I still love how playful and sexy the beach shots are by comparison to the more abstract take in these photos, but thanks for sharing all the same, Julie! I have to agree - I don't mind looking messy, but the bugs and skinned knees are not for me...interesting, but not for me. I want beach and sand and water!
  9. What RSVP date did you put? I gave them till December 31 but they have till Feb to book through my TA...I just want somebody to book! I just went to the Post office and it's $.64 to mail the invitations and they don't have a wedding stamp in that denomination, only a dolphin, but what am I going to do? At least the response cards will have wedding stamps.
  10. I wish I had known about the Brides Against Breast Cancer before I threw my old wedding dress in a donation bin just to get it out of my house. I would have liked to have known it went to a cause like that. I am trashing my dress but i will clean it and donate it after that - I can't imagine using it for anything else.
  11. Ok, I just addressed my invitations, by hand....I got so nervous right before the first one...I have no idea why but I did. So Now I just have to wait for my address labels to get here, get them weighed and put stamps on them and HOPEFULLY people will start booking!!!
  12. Congratulations! Great news! This is such an exciting time in your life - enjoy it! Is that a new profile picture - you look really good in it!
  13. And my ticker says 6 months 2 weeks 5 days, but my countdown clock on Facebook says 200 days, which seems like an important number doesn't it?
  14. Tara & Tonya - Congratulations on the new houses - so exciting! Erin - so nice to have a shower! Tonya - I think it's nice to not want gifts - we don't either, but if you have a shower, people will bring them, regardless of whether or not you tell them to. If you want to go with Emily Post, you aren't supposed to mention gifts at all in any invitation, but you can spread the word and put it on your website if you have one that you don't want any, or go with Meghan's idea or ask for donations to a charity. I am sincerely hoping that nobody makes me a shower. We have been trying to get rid of things - not get any more things! But we're both 40 and had to combine 2 homes and 20 years of living on our own and accumulation! I'm not having a bachelorette party either, I have no bridal party and we're not having an AHR. FI supposedly picked out wedding bands for us when he picked out my e-ring - I have no idea what they look like but he did a great job with my ring, so I'm going to trust him with this. right now I have my invitations in my living room and need to address them but I can't get motivated to do it!
  15. Congratulations and Welcome!
