MANALAPAN, NJ (WABC) -- A wedding dress store in New Jersey allegedly jilted dozens of brides out of their dresses. Kristal Stevens is getting married on May 22nd. Last fall, she found the perfect wedding dress, which was strapless and beaded. She paid Enzo Bridal in Manalapan, New Jersey $860 as a deposit on the dress, veil, and head piece. But, when they failed to schedule her for a fitting, and when they stopped taking her calls, she went to the shop Sunday only to discover a sign on the door. "The shop is closed, so I'm completely freaking out, I'm crying," described Stevens. It's not clear how many dozens of brides-to-be have been jilted by the shop. But with many spring weddings just around the corner, most won't be able to reorder or come up with the extra money for another dress. Eyewitness News has learned that the owner, Steve Mondello is deeply in debt and is considering bankruptcy. He has hired a lawyer who told Eyewitness News, "I have been retained by Enzo to facilitate the invoices for their existing customers, between them and the dress makers." "I don't understand how someone stayed in business this long, he was a thief to me," said Kimberly Lawrence, a former Enzo customer. Lawrence knows Enzo never ordered her silk dress, and is now praying that she'll be able to find something to wear down the aisle. "A dress is a very special part for the bride, it's almost like falling in love," said Lawrence. "My dress is gone, everyone's dress is gone," said Stevens. It turns out the Better Business Bureau had already given Enzo's their worst possible rating, an F. That's little consolation to the dozens of unsuspecting brides who came to the store hoping to leave with their dream dress. This store is about 10 minutes from me - not where I got my dress, but my friend's cousin did put a deposit down there. they were advertising that if you bought your dress from there they'd give you a free cruise. I feel sooooo bad for all of these ladies! I hope something can be done for them!

We're having a DW because I could not possibly handle planning a huge wedding at home. Plus a DW is more affordable and fun in my opinion. I've noticed in a lot of other threads there are quite a few of us NJ brides. Maybe we can organize a get together like some of the other areas. I'm the only one of my friends and family to attempt a DW and this site has kept my sanity. I am now fully addicted and can't get enough. Looking forward to hearing from some other local ladies. I live in Freehold too - why have I missed this thread till now? i'm happy to see other Jersey Girls on here! We're having a DW because FI and I have both been married before and both had big Jersey weddings the first time and didn't want to spend the $, or invite 200 people that we don't really care about. This way we only had to invite a few people and say "we're only inviting closest family and friends" and not have to worry about planning such a huge event. My parents are making us an AHR when we get back, but even that is only going to be 40ish people - mostly those who couldn't come to the wedding, and a few of their friends.

Bridesmaid dress is pretty too and I love her shoes. Rings are gorgeous. I love all the pictures too - I'm still waiting for my girlfriend to send my fitting pictures - i finally got my spa day/shower pics - I'll put that thread up soon.

We did the same thing with the first season - FI caught it on a random night and was hooked! It's hard to believe that was the father on Malcom in the Middle - he's really an amazing actor.

Just as an FYI - my photographer, who is a local Jamaican photographer (SunGold) told me she usually books a room at GP to alleviate any issues with the resort. Unfortunately the place is sold out the night of my wedding but she said it won't be a problem - but we will need to do the TTD session somewhere other than the hotel, which is fine with me - I'm hoping to do it at one of the Falls! So if you are worried about using a local photographer - just have them book a room - then they are a guest and they can't say anything.

Then we both get our way. The second compromise - we name one of our kids Riley. So it's not quite the same as carrying on with the family name but it will at least keep it going in some form. I know others who have done the same thing and it worked to make everyone involved happy. And I have to admit the one good thing about changing my last name is that in computer code language (boring I know!) an apostrophe is more commonly used than it used to be, so with "O'Reilly" I am constantly running into errors in various computer systems, emails and tons of stuff online! So in that sense, it will definitely be less headaches once I change! Quote: Originally Posted by wendyjd Glad to see this thread pop up. I am NOT changing my name. My FI is fine with it. I was previously married and hyphenated with a LONG last name, which for some reason confused people and was still a huge pain to change (twice!). Its funny even though we aren't married about half of our neighbors call me by his last name already. It doesn't upset me but it seems funny that both names (first and last) are on the homeowners assn info I rarely get called by MY last name and my FI NEVER gets called by my last name. Quote: Originally Posted by EmmaGaussoin I was told the same thing. I still may change my name but it seems like such a hassle! Plus we will be leaving the country for about a year after our wedding and it seems like there won't be enough time to get my passport changed before. I know if I don't do it right away I probably won't change it. I may just put my last name as my middle name so I can share the same last name as my kids. Good luck in your decision. When I got married the first time - 13 years ago - I was in my 20s and I changed my name - it didn't seem like a big deal to do - when I got divorced 3 years later and changed it back it seemed like a huge pain in the butt! Now that I've been in my career for a very long time, everyone knows me by my last name and many people call me by my last name because there are so many Michele's, but I like the tradition of being Mr. & Mrs and I thought I would change it. FI doesn't really care - and he actually has had some problems with his last name because he and his biological father (he wasn't raised by this man) have the same last name and FI has had his bank account "accidentally" levied...he has considered changing his name to his step-father's name as that's who raised him and it would avoid confusion. his step-dad's last name is easy (Grover) while his real last name is confusing to spell and pronounce... I mentioned to him last night that I would use my last name as my middle name and his as my last name....He thinks it sounds strange together and he likes my real middle name but told me to do what I want.

What I've looked at in my case is a plane transfer between Montego Bay and the small Negril airport, but it would run us around 500$ round trip, to save 1-1.5h each way. A nice splurge, but I'm too cheapo for my own good I think! I'm getting stressed out with everything I have to do this week. Packing, still a bit of shopping (sundresses, no Target up here Jenna, closest one is south of the border!), cleaning up the house a bit, it is a mess, and work! As if I wasn't already swamped, I told my boss I would do some other things that are normally out of my scope. So in the next 3 days I have to prepare my vacation: give out priorities & task lists to my team, tackle my daily job, get the ball rolling on a few things, and work/supervise this special project!! I've spent a few hours yesterday on my work laptop, and I feel I should be working instead of posting right now... I'll deserve this vacation! On the positive side, we got our rings Thursday: my sparkly: side view to show little blue diamond: his band on my finger: cheesy side-by-side pic: Rings are beautiful!!!!

If you go to the Post your wedding/engagement picture section, everyone posts their TTD sessions. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/f76/ You can also look at SunGold's slides - they are a photographer based in Jamaica they do a lot of TTD http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-slides-50770/ Good luck!
