  1. We are registering only because some people will not be able to make it to our wedding and will want to buy us a present. We are making it really clear in the invitation that if you are coming your presence if enough of a gift so please do not pay attention to the registry. And plus there are people who may not be invited but know about your wedding (like coworkers, your boss, etc..) that want to buy you a gift.

Our fist choice was originally Beth Lloyd but she was booked so what could be better than her second shooter?!?! Edna sent me a PM with his name and it looks like there are a ton of great reviews on him and what an awesome price!!! It also helps when people on here post good stuff about him. I figured he was the one for me when the pics he sent were of Jeni on BDW. I'll let you know how things work out with Nate since we are getting married at the same place Thanks!!! That would be awesome, I was super excited to book him too! Are you doing a TTD with him too?? Oh I am so excited if you could send me your feedback since we have the same resort and the same photographer that would be awesome!! I have just worked with him thru email but he has been awesome to work with and I love the photos on his website.

I've looked at a lot of pics of STD's on here and they seem to include a lot of information. In STD's should I include--the date, location, and recommendations for guests such as hotels, etc. On your STD's do you have where your guests should RSVP, or do you then send out invitations later on that they should reply to on whether or not they are coming? I'm just confused on all of this & hope someone can explain it to me. Thanks! Courtney- It really depends on your personal preference. I would def. include the date and location. And for the info such as hotels and wedding location (such as a church) or reception location (like a specific restuarant) you can either include it, or you can create a wedding website. Have all the info on the wedding website and then just include the url on your STD. I put all the info on the STD including passport, hotel and TA info just in case people wanted to make their reservantions early before getting the invitation. It also helps get people excited and they are able to research the location. I know a lot of the ladies on here put an RSVP in with the STD so you can get a basis on how many invitations to buy and know ahead of time how many people will be attending. But I only sent out 58 STD so I am just going to send them all an invitation as well and in there have a RSVP. I think it also depends on how much time is between your STD going out and your invitations. I know some people send a STD 2 years in advance just to let the family know it is happening. But 1 year to 6 mos. out is more the norm I think. Then send the invites out 6-3mos. from the date. I sent out my STD a little under a year from my wedding date and will send the invites out 6 mos. from my date. Hope this helps!

I have heard really good things about Elizabeth Llloyd and Elizabeth Medina for photography in PV. I actually booked Elizabeth Lloyd's second shooter to photograph my wedding. I also heard really good things about Juan Carlos Tapia(sp??). There are so many great options for great photography in PV you just have to look at their websites to see if you like their pics!
  5. Just wanted all you ladies to know that Vicki's Semi-Annual sale starts tomorrow. I know a lot of us are looking for bd shoot outfits, and getting them on sale is better than full price! If you are an Angel card holder the doors open at 7am!!!
  6. You are not alone at all! I really hope our guests do not stay longer than the Sunday after our wedding. We even set our date as Friday so people would have a day to relax before leaving on Sunday. My fiance is the one not wanting to change resorts either and I don't know how much I really would want to change either once the day is here, but I have already started to tell my friends and family that "come Sunday I don't know who any of you are." That way they kind of get the hint that if you stay past Sunday I am not hanging out with you because I am on my honeymoon!! But we did/are making a point to tell everyone that we are getting there the Tuesday before the wedding so feel free to come early and hang out with us!
  7. I don't really agree with Alyssa that it is tacky, because even though your friends are drinkers and it is nice to have an open bar you also do not want them to drink you clean out of money and also pay to have a bunch of drunk people get even more drunk. Alcohol can get so expensive! But I do think Chantelle has a great idea about the open bar till a certain time and then make it into a cash bar. I was at a birthday party that was like that and I think it worked out great. That way you are doing the best of both worlds. I also think it is your day and you do what you feel comfortable doing. If you guys only want to have a four drink minimum your guests will understand, just make sure it is stated somewhere so they know to bring extra money. I know a lot of people don't think to bring $$ to a reception unless they know it is a cash bar. Weddings are expensive and your guests will understand that!
  8. Amber, there are a bunch of really pretty ones for not a lot of money at dillards. "ivory" | Women | Dresses & Special Occasion at Dillards.com Also maybe see if there are any bridesmaids dresses you like offered in white! I had my eye on one that was only $190. But now I think I am going to get the one on dillards website, Betsy and Adam Pleated Halter Gown for $160.

Also we got our wedding bands already but only b/c the Kays by me had their once a year big sale, we save saved over $600 on the normal sale price and $1200 of the retail price! I think that is when we are going to be sending out invitations out to. We are sending them to everyone who got a STD, so we want them to get a reminder to book their trip!! And then also sending out a getting excited brochure about a month before. Why can't May come any faster?
  10. I am a May 2010 bride too! We are getting married May 14, 2010 in Puerto Vallarta at the Dreams Resort! I really can't wait for next May to get here! I just sent out all the STD's at the end of May and just found my dress last week. We are looking at invitations next week, when are you all sending out your invitations?
  11. Are you getting flowers from the resort or a florist in Ocho Rios? Maybe if you are dealing directly with the florist down there you will be able to be more involved before you actually get down there. Or maybe you can work it out where the real touch flowers can just be shipped down to the resort so you don't have to worry about bringing them down yourself. Bur my vote is to go real and if you can deal with either the resort or a florist I think they will be able to get you exactly what you want!
  12. Ladies I don't know if anyone is looking for pearl necklaces as gifts but Zales is having a killer deal on them since they are June's birthstone. They are having a bunch of pearl specials but the one that caught my eye is if you buy more than one strand of their cultured pearl (in 4 colors) they are only $25 per necklace. There is also a set of seven pairs of pearl earrings (in seven colors) for $49, so you could give each girl or guest a different color. Follow the link below and then if you click on the link under special offers you can see the other offers. I just know how we all love a great deal!!!! Hope this helps anyone if they are looking for pearls! Cultured Freshwater Pearl Strand Collection - Gift Finder - Zales
  13. You look gorgeous!! I really love the pillow one, it just leaves much to the imagination. I may have to borrow that for my BD shoot!!
  14. TTD normally happens a day or two after the wedding. I am doing it the day after. I know some brides on here use the same dress to do the TTD but most end up getting two dresses, one for your actual day and then a much cheaper dress for the TTD session. When you book your photographer just talk with him/her about the options you have with the TTD session. Hope this helps!
  15. I am having around 50 too and my resort package was for 20 but like the other girls said the resort just quotes you a fee for the extra people. I think mine is around $55 pp extra for food and drinks. Just email the WC at any resort you are interested in and she will be able to let you know!
  16. I vote for dress #1, it is really flattering! But you could always keep #2 as your TTD dress
  17. Thanks for all the great reviews jaclyn! All the info is really helpful to those of us who won't be able to get down to the resort before our wedding, so thank you sooo much!
  18. Most designers have spring and fall collections, so I would assume Davids would as well. Maybe just give them a call and ask if they will be coming out with anything new this fall.
  19. I think it looks gorgeous, fun, flirty and sexy all rolled into one! Great find!
  20. I vote #1 it looks so stunning on you and really compliments your figure!
