  1. I wouldn't worry about it! It sounds like plenty of people have had wonderful experiences ordering from ebay and if she has an outstanding rating everything will be fine! And plus in the grand scheme of everything if you don't like it or it is not a perfect fit you can (a) resell it or ( use it in a TTD session! And for $74 you can't go wrong and could still afford to get another dress if this one doesn't work out!
  2. I think you look gorgeous in them all. But 4 & 6 are my favorites. 4 is classic and timeless, and six is edgy and screams destination wedding!
  3. I don't think you are stepping over the line at all! Guys aren't really planners and don't think of things like we do. So I am sure his guy friends just thought they would take him out on one of their weekly nights out to celebrate. I think it is super sweet of you to organize it for him and to fund it!
  4. Ladies...has anyone with a wedding in 2010 received 2010 pricing yet? I asked Rebeca couple months ago if it had come out yet, she said no but that they would honor some 2009 pricing. But without the pricing she said I am unable to put down my deposit, which even thought she assures me my date is set in stone without the deposit I am a tad bit nervous!
  5. I wish we had been able to use him as well, don't get me wrong I booked another amazing photog who I am just as enamored with. But Nathaniel was sooo nice in his emails and didn't hesitate in answering any questions I had, it just ended up that he was out of our budget! So if you are considering him I would totally book with him, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him on here and from personal experience in communicating with him, he is nothing but top-notch!
  6. Congrats what a cute cute way to propose!! Post some pics, we all love pics on the forum!
  7. I say go with the white ones, they just look more "weddingish".
  8. Congrats!! What a great price for such a beautiful dress!
  9. Congrats on getting engaged! Concerning transportations, you may want to look for a hotel that includes transportation to and from the airport. We are getting married at Dreams in Puerto Vallarta and it is a little outside the city and transportation to and from the hotel in included in the room fee, which is a nice bonus. Also you may lean more towards the all-inclusive if your guests are tending to be more cost aware. Because even though the room rate may be a little higher, all food and drinks and some activities are included. Whereas if you go out to eat every night it can add up really quickly, especially once drinks are included. Because remember going to a foreign country people are less likely to go and explore for a more cost concious place to eat and instead look to the touristy areas where they feel safe and tend to be more expensive. I know that all of our guests so far have been impressed with how "inexpensive" coming to our wedding is. I totally recommend going with a TA though, they will help guide you through EVERYTHING!! They will give you options and then work with you and your guests in order to get the cheapest options available. My TA is a lifesaver and got us two roundtrip tickets to PV at the times we wanted for under $700. And I know for a fact that by booking through a TA you get way better pricing, the hotel wanted $2250 for a 5 night stay + flight at our resort, whereas our TA got my FI's mom the same package for a total of $1850. Just make sure you are not only happy with the resort but also with the wedding packages offered at the resort. And keep in mind that if you get married at an all-inclusive and some guests choose to stay at another hotel you/or them will have to pay a guest fee for the day of the wedding that can range up to $80 per guest. Because all-inclusives are very protective of who they let in since all food and drinks are included. We let our guests know that ahead of time, so if they choose to stay somewhere else they know they will have to pay the fee themselves. Also you can orchestrate your wedding to how you like, just work with your TA and the hotel wedding coordinator. A hotel that I really liked and offered great packages for smaller wedding parties (which didn't work out for me) and is more of a "small town feel" without the price tag is Isla Mujeres Palace. And a nice thing about the Palace Resorts is you stay at one, but you play at all of them. So Isla Mujeres is an island off Cancun, so you stay on the island but can take the ferry back and forth to Cancun and go to the Palace resorts there to enjoy their restaurants and beaches as well. Palace Resorts - Welcome to the Official Site - Isla Mujeres Palace Hope this helps!!
  10. Congrats on your fabulous day becoming a Mrs. and a fabulous trip! Can't wait to see pics!
  11. Unfortunetly we feel in love with pocket wedding invitations and could quite possibly be spending $400 on our invites...Ouch! But I can't find anyone cheaper or who has the specific pocket we are looking at getting.
  12. Your dress is gorgeous! That was such a good deal too!
  13. I love the dress! I don't think it will look too poofy at all. And like the other girls have said if you love it, then that is all that matters. Have you had your first fitting yet? You may just go in and try in on since it is at the bridal store just so you can look at yourself in the mirror again. Then see if you still love it! I think it is beautiful and you will look beautiful in it!
  14. There are a ton of great photographers in PV. Elizabeth Lloyd, Elizabeth Medina, Juan Carlos Tapia, Paulina Ulloa. I am flying my photographer (Nathan Cordova) into PV for my wedding, but he was Elizabeth Lloyd's second shooter up until this summer but then he moved back home to Portland. And even though you pay his airfare his prices are so reasonable. I would totally recommend him. I know another girl on the dreams pv forum is also using him (autjo). Also Dino Gomez is running a sale right now for BDW members (he is a vendor on here) and he has great photos to and lives in Mexico. Hope this helps!
  15. I will not be showing him my TTD dress before the wedding only because it is almost identical to my real dress. When I got it though I really wanted to show him but I restrained myself and he even said he DID NOT want to see it because he wants to be suprised when he sees me walking down the aisle. It is even at my aunt's house so if he goes in my closet he can't see anything he shouldn't.
