  2. I think you should keep the dress you love!! You do look soo happy in the picture ! If you think you may be to hot at the reception maybe find a great reception dress that you would be cooler in??
  3. The rainy season is June-Nov. so you should be good in december. I was on a charity bike ride this past weekend and they had bug spray there that actually smelled good it was in an orange bottle. But I wouldn't stress about it, since you will be out of the rainy season you should be all good!
  4. I have heard people really recommend taking bug spray with you, but I think it is more for excursions outside the resorts. But I would bring some just in case, I can't imagine they would be too bad in December, but there are some crazy bugs in foreign countries!
  5. We are getting married May 2010. We sent out our STD's at the beginning of June so about 11 months in advance. Then we are going to be sending out our invitations Oct/Nov so about 7 months in advance with a rsvp deadline of 2 mos before our wedding. We have already had people start looking into booking just from our STD's so we didn't want to send out the invites too soon after our STD's.
  6. I think you look absolutely stunning in dress 1!! But why did you buy that one if you loved dress 2 more??
  7. I didn't get my dress from there but I watch Say Yes to the Dress all the time (Kleinfeld's reality show) and they don't seem pushy at all. And you can't beat that they have an absurd amount of dresses in stock, you are sure to find something you like!
  8. I also agree! I think the cruise and the donation is very generous of you. And as nice as OOT bags are, I think the lasting memories of a cruise will be worth so much more.
  9. What a great bag for such a great cause! Thanks for sharing!
  10. I would totally ask her. Like the other girls said you never know what her situation may be between now and then. And it is better to ask her and let her make the decision if she can afford it or not. I am sure she would be totally hurt if you didn't ask her because you didn't think she could afford it. Plus some travel agencies offer payment plans so she can pay some each month before the trip to get it paid off!
  11. It is such a beautiful dress, and so beautiful on you!! I love the scalloped edging at the bottom!

He always responds to my emails within a matter of hours, and is so nice and helpful with answering questions! Yael- from what i have seen the photos of your wedding are gorgeous! Jessica- Thanks for your input, who did you end up using? Joelle, I ended up going with Nathan Cordova. He was Elizabeth Lloyd's second shooter who has now gone out on his own!
  13. I am just planning on bringing $100-$200 in cash for tips since we will be there 10 days. I remember reading somewhere that Rebeca couldn't accept tips, but someone sent her beautiful flowers...I could be wrong on that. But I was just planning to bring the case to tip the maids and the bartenders and such. We probably wouldn't go through the $200 but for us being there 10 days it gives us about $10 a day to tip, one or two to the maid each day and then to the bartender....crap if we drink a lot it may be closer to the $200 So I wouldn't plan on adding too much to your budget, just a little extra! They do claim all "tipping" is included, but always feel just a little extra is always nice for how hard they work at the resorts!
  14. Thanks girls for all the good info. She just wrote me and said I needed my booking number from making my hotel reservations. So I just wrote my TA to get that so I can send it to Rebeca and then get my deposit for my wedding package paid. I was just confused from before she had told me that she couldn't cash a deposit for me until 2010 pricing had come out. Thanks Again!!
  15. I was really concerned with it to, since I am going to a personal trainer and ordered my dress last weekend. But my wedding dress lady and the company's seamstress came up and assured me that even if they had to take it in two sizes it would look the same. Also I ordered a bridesmaids dress for a wedding last October and the stupid bridal store people made me order it two sizes larger than what I needed (a long story, don't use demitros bridal in Scottsdale, Az) but my seamstress took it in and it looked exactly the same. Just food for thought!

Real quick too, I'd like to say Thank YOU to "FutureMrs.Griffith" for her awesome help!! -bel Aww Bel you are soo sweet! I am really glad you found it! Your friend looks gorgeous in it!
  17. Don't stress!!! It will all work out in the end! Maybe ask him if he would also be willing to put some $$ towards a personal trainer who could possibly help you lose the weight faster. Plus if you find your dress now, why can't you order it?? You may have to pay quite a bit in alterations, but it may help motivate you even more to lose the weight. Then you will have 8 months to lose the weight stress-free while waiting for your dress to get in. And if you wait till the last minute you may have to pay rush-fees which could be just as much as extensive alterations. I say talk to your FI and see if he will pay for the dress now and then just use that as motivation to lose the weight. Especially since losing the weight is something you want to do anyways. Plus guys don't always realize that a wedding dress can take 4-6 months to get in, I think sometimes they think a wedding dress fairy makes it magically appear!
