Wow... beach ceremony while in port... that sounds exciting! How long will you be in port for? When I came to Cabo on a ship, we were only in port from 7-4, but in reality after everyone gets boated off the ship and back on time was cut short. Will you do a reception on the ship then? Will it be private? Have fun planning and welcome to this wonderful site!

Hello Everyone - I'm a Newbie and an indecisive bride!
BeachBride10 replied to murphysmom's topic in Newbies!!
Hawaii and Cabo were our two choices to start with as well. Have you been to either place? We have been to both and I can't say that I like one location more than the other, they are both beautiful. I didn't do a whole ton of research on Hawaii because from what I did find, it seemed it was going to be more expensive than going to Cabo. If I can remember right, there were places that had wedding ceremonies set for 8 AM.. and the later in the day the more expensive. We chose Cabo because of the cost, and I found a boutique hotel where the our beach ceremony will be more private than on a crowded beach. How many people are you expecting to attend? Hope this helps a little. -

I see lexibride and sfrench0621 are my date twins. Anyone else? I feel like I've gotten a lot accomplished so why is my to-do list growing? Completed: reserved wedding date and resort picked TA sent out STD have dress and it's altered invites printed... in process of glueing... plan to mail in Jan Have maracas for favors putting together OOT bags with the vows theme (i.e. in sickness and health) bachelorette in Vegas last weekend, fun fun My concerns include 52 ppl have said they are coming but only 7 have booked wedding party hasn't booked my bridesmaid w/ a degree in design offered to design/constructing BM dress... but no progress because she's commuting 4 hours a day My FI is super busy w/ work until Jan My mom is the opposite of overly involved I want to plan decorations but I don't even have a confirmed location at the resort for my reception... and I have to wait till 4 months out.... grrr Does anyone else feel similarly? I'm so glad I found this thread. I feel an instant bond because we are all going through the same stuff at the same time. I too love this date 5.15.10! This is our wedding date as well. I too am frustrated that out of about 40 people who said they plan to go only my maid of honor has set up her reservation. I am back May brides. I took a few months break from wedding planning and now I wish I hadn't. I am having such a big problem with making a decision on colors which is really putting a hamper on the rest of my planning. I can not make up my mind between fuchsia w/ ? color combo or turquoise/aqua and tan/khaki combo. Completed: (I have sooo much to do still!!) Reserved date and location Purchased wedding dress Sent out STDs Set up website Started table/decor ideas with different color combos DIY invitations designed, but waiting until I decide on colors to finish them! I was wanting to get our invitations out at the end of Oct/ beginning of Nov. but that obviously isn't going to happen since I still haven't picked the colors. I really want to get them out before the holidays though cause I am worried that people will be too busy and not have the extra money and get their invite and say they can't afford it because of xmas, etc. Although, I did send out the STD message in a bottle back in May. When are you requesting your guests to RSVP by? I wish I could know NOW : ) so that I could start on the OOT bags and every other little thing. Ok, enough from me for now. So excited and appreciative to share with all you May brides! -
I would love to join the next season. I only changed my diet for the first couple weeks and never really got an exercise plan started so I wasn't losing I was only fluctuating and ended up not sending in my weight and got DQd. My dress is expected to be here in September so I would really like to see a difference when I try it on. I'm ready when everyone else is!

Too many colors!!!!!!!!!!!
BeachBride10 replied to *HOLLY*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I am having the same problem as you. I know I want a beach theme and so my first thought was blue BM dresses and khaki, tiffany/aqua blue, and white calla lilies. Then after seeing other peoples pictures I really love fuchsia. I love how the fuchsia color on the BM dresses pops out and makes the blue ocean color pop out more than with blue dresses. When I think about doing fuchsia, I can't make up my mind about the accent color if I want blue/aqua or orange. I can't figure out how I want to do my tables and other decor with those combos either. I feel like fuchsia with blue or orange seems to set a more fun and party like atmosphere, while the khaki/blue combo seems more beachy/elegent. I am not looking for a real formal setting but don't really want it to be wild and party like so I really don't know what to do. Any suggestions? -
My first DIY project and many more to come. I had so much fun doing these, but didn't expect it to take as much time as it did. Thank you to one of you BDW brides for the wording I borrowed. I will try to pay more attention to names as I will borrow more ideas. I got most of the supplies: the bottle, sand, seashells, and box for a great price from: Message Bottles I bought the brads, paper, and a paper trimmer from local craft stores and used 40% coupons. I made 22 of these and my cost per bottle was $3.00. I hand delivered the ones that were super close to me and mailed out the other 11 for $2.41 per box. I just signed up for a photobucket account and hope my pictures show up!

We are dress twins!!! Nice choice... yeah when I ordered my dress they told me it would take 6 months to make it! I am so glad I went dress shopping and ordered it when I did cause I would have gone crazy if I had my first fitting the month before the wedding. Nice planning pics. Love your ceremony set up. Have a fun and beautiful wedding! -

BeachBride10 replied to Blkatz's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I am so sorry that the rest of your family and friends didn't make it down there to share your special day... But I am so glad to hear that you were strong and still made it along with your best friends! Congrats!! -
Welcome!! This site is the best resource ever for a destination wedding. I have not been to Cabo Surf Hotel yet, but this is the place I have chosen. It is in San Jose Del Cabo and I have found it to be the most reasonably priced location, beautiful, and very flexible. Happy planning!

Congrats Allyson... I am getting married at Cabo Surf also. I am so excited! Have you been to Cabo Surf before?

How are you doing your table settings and other decor? I really want to do a beach theme and nothing is coming to my mind of how to do this. Any help would be great.

I am very interested to know how the sunset works at Cabo Surf in May cause I have read posts on here that the sun sets earlier because Cabo Surf is on a hillside and the sun goes behind the hill. Will she be doing pics with you at Cabo Surf this May?
