Ooh a month - how exciting! "I'm a bride without a veil, shoes, garter, and jewelry! How did that happen?!" Did you get everytjhing sorted?

Lovely pictures. Good to see a report from a St Lucian Bride. I will also bear in mind about the prices and perhaps bring more items from home that we want instead of buying out there.

Hi Dennita, Yes we have a date, wedding will be 8th Oct 2010 at 4.30pm, We will travel out on 3rd and stay for 2 weeks. We then have a party at home after we get back. We have booked through Dreamy Weddings. Not booked actual holiday yet, as the brochures aren't out til July. I am spending all my time on trip advisor reading reviews. I am also trying to find an affordable resort. I was thinking AI, as they will have more going on during the day. Also I understand that eating out is actually quite expensive, so at least this way everything is paid for and all people need to bring is spending money. I am thinking either Almond or Rex, depends what I can find cheapest. Both seem to have good and bad reviews, so I guess each as is good/bad as the other. Feeling a bit guilty about a destination wedding, or at least St Lucia as it is one of the most expensive places! Our guest list has taken a bit of a hit. What with the economic problems, but we hope to still have between 10 and 20 come with us. Group discount is also high on my agenda but I think that is going to be a bit extra work for me. It would be good to know what you get arranged and manage to wangle if you don't mind sharing? Reception wise, we will go for a meal, and then I have cunningly chosen a Friday as our wedding date so after we have eaten we can go to the jump up! Not sure where yet, my WP is going to send me some menus nearer the time. I have spoken to another St Lucian bride, and she said they went to Jacques and it was lovely. I shall wait and see as we have a couple of fussy eaters coming with us. Have you got a dress yet? I am making my first foray into bridal shops next weekend. EEK. Trini bride - Congratulations. I am glad you had a great time and I look forward to reading your review. Interesting to read about the flowers, I am considering taking silk, but if you have found somewhere good they may be worth me remembering.

Hi, Not sure how old this thread is - I'm still finding my way around this forum. We have just booked our date for our October 2010 wedding on Pigeon Island. squeal! Was great to read about all of your booking experiences, will really help me I think. Dennita - I'm a UK bride too with what seems like a similiar demographic of guests. Have you chosen a resort yet? My head is full of ideas, but feel I can't really do much more until I can book the hotel which isn't until July this year. I have booked my beach though, and from there most ideas are in my head, so I kind of know what I want. It could all change in the coming months though! We looked at venues this weekend and have found a perfect little hotel to have a party in. I haven't been to any dress shops yet. Very restrained of me since I have been engaged since June last year! I am thinking that the either a Rex or an Almond resort will suit us. We need to be in the Rodney bay area really, so as not too much travelling on the Wedding Day. Like you we have children coming, and I want a busy resort that people can find plenty to do. I myself will be stretched out on a lounger, cocktail in hand with not much intention of moving. I do want to visit a few places of course, but that wont be everyday. My fiance can't bear sunbathing, he can't keep his feet still so he can be off doing things and we will both be happy. How about you, do you have many coming with you? How long will you stay for? Are you having a party when you get home?

Brezzie you have my date!!!!!! We wanted 08/09/10 but it wasn't free so have settled for 08/10/10 instead. I will be marrying on Pigeon Island. What made you settle for the Windjammer may I ask? I am currently investigating resorts for us and our family and my head can't quite cope! I am attempting to plan a Caribbean wedding from the UK so I feel your pain and worry. Perhaps we can bounce planning ideas off each other?

Hi Everyone, I'm a UK bride so hopefully you don't mind me crashing onto your forum, but I have heard good things about how useful you all are. I will be getting married in St Lucia 8th October 2010, on a beach on Pigeon Island. We will have a few members of family with us, but will be a fairly small group of 16-20 depending who can afford to join us. I would love to hear from anyone else who has already, or is getting, married in St Lucia. Loads of ideas are running through my head and apart from the date and ceremony location, it is all to plan. Exciting times eh. Anyway enough of a ramble for a first post. Beach-bride xx
