  1. Congrats!! Check out Couples resorts in Jamaica: Jamaica Resorts: Couples Resorts - All-Inclusive Resorts and Hotels. They have great details on their web site about weddings including what they offer and a great FAQ section. Looks like their Negril resort is lovely as well. Best of luck to you!

I just got my marriage certificate in the mail yesterday (in Spanish) and was wondering if I needed to get it translated....Thanks BachataBride! So, it only took a few weeks after your wedding to receive your certified marriage certificate? I've noticed in some countries it takes 3-4 months to get it, but I haven't found any info on that for DR. Let me know if you don't mind - that will definitely solidify my plans to marry there. Thanks! Lori
  3. Congrats! Sorry you're having minister troubles, but I'm sure they'll find someone for you. Best of luck to you!!
  4. Congrats - this is definitely the place to get all the inside info for a destination wedding! Good luck!
  5. Congratulations and welcome! Couples resort actually looked wonderful and provides a ton of info on thier weddings. We ended up choosing the Dominican Republic to get married, but I definitely would've gone with Couples over Sandals in a heartbeat. Good Luck!!

I finally actually emailed all three of the coordinators listed on the site yesterday, including Maritee, so maybe I'll hear back soon.
  8. Can anyone tell me how quickly I should expect a response from a Majestic wedding coordinator via email? I'm trying to find out if my wedding date is available and since it's fairly soon, I'm getting a little anxious. Lori

Thanks for the tip! I haven't investigated either of those locations much so I'll dig a bit deeper.

  11. Thank you so much lscilley for the majestic info - you just answered all of my questions except whether or not my wedding date is available!!! Everyone cross your fingers for me!!!
  12. My fiance and I want to elope - really elope just the 2 of us - in Punta Cana this summer. My problem is finding a wedding package at any resort that has what we need without paying for a bunch of extra stuff we don't. Here's all that we want: Beach location Officiant Marriage license & certificate Witnesses (since we won't have anyone with us) Bridal bouquet Boutonniere Photographs on CD Does anyone know of a resort or wedding planning service that offers something like that at a reasonable price? Any help would be very much appreciated!!
  13. Hi! I'm Lori and my fiance Justin and I are hoping to elope (really - just the 2 of us) in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic this summer. We're shooting for an easy to remember wedding/anniversary date of July 8, 2009 (7-8-09). I've already gotten some good info and hoping for more as I'm finding it a bit difficult to find a package for a real "elopement" at any of the resorts. Thanks in advance! Lori
