Thanks ladies! Yeah I went with the light gold. I wasn't sure if I wanted that or the ivory, but everyone said with my complexion to go with the light gold. I hope to tan a bit, but I have such a hard time getting any color, so thought this one would just look best. I love it!

I just ordered my Maggie today! Chardonnay - by Maggie Sottero I am sooo in love with it!

I found my dress today and am sooo in love with it! This was the first day of dress shopping for me, it was the first place we went to and like the 6th dress I tried on. I knew immediately it was the one, but we had another appointment set for the afternoon, so I told her we would most likely be back later. When we went to the next place, all I could do was compare the dress to "the one" and they didn't even come close. I finally told my mom let's go back and get my dress. I tried it back on and it was definitely my dress. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to get it in the light gold the sample was or the ivory, but everyone said with my complexion to go with the light gold. I love it! It's a Maggie Sottero, Chardonnay.

I've only been engaged about a month now, but I take mine off every night and keep it in the box. Then I wait until I'm done getting ready in the morning and put it back on before I leave. I also take it off to put lotion on. I would also wait to see how it does in the summer before resizing it.

I finally got my diy will you be my maid of honor cards today. I created them myself and had them printed through zazzle.com. I love them! Here's a few pics. I found the poem online somewhere (can't remember where), and then added a personal message. I really like how they turned out! Then here is what I sent my aunt to ask my little cousin if she would be my flower girl. She said she loved it! I also found the poem online somewhere as well. Smilebox Playback

Thanks for the response Leslie! The more I was thinking about it, it's going to be hot in August anywhere. If we would get married here at home, it would be hot in August. We can't move the date back any further either, without moving it to 2011, due to school schedules. So I'm not going to let that change anything, we'll just deal with the heat. Our ceremony is in the gazebo area outside, but the reception is indoors. Another reason I like this place is because there is a hotel onsite, within steps of the venue. So if anyone wanted to go jump in a pool, they could, ha! My aunt (mom of the cousin who started this all!) said she would go drive out there sometime this week and take a look around. Love her! If anyone else knows anything about it though, please share!

kwaits - I think you can start registering anytime. You might just want to check it every so often to see if any of your items have been discontinued or are no longer available for any reason. I think the honeymoon registry is a great idea. We're also not needing all the traditional items, so we might do that as well. I'm excited to start the registering process. How fun picking out all your gifts, haha!

I am having a bit of a dilemna right now and could use some help from the Cali girls. After tons of research, we decided on a place that was best for our budget but we also both really like. I'm really in love with the ceremony gazebo area. Unfortunately, since FI decided he didn't want to wait till 2011, we won't be able to make a site visit. All the reviews I found online were very positive though. So I was pretty set on this place and getting excited. Then my cousin, also MOH, who lives in Reseda starts basically trying to talk me out of it. My location is in Montebello, and she says there's nothing to do around there. Then tonight FI says his mom sent our venue website to his aunt who lives in Pasadena. She said the same thing, are they sure they want to get married there? She made it sound like it was a bad area and said it's not very pretty. She also said our date, August 1st, would be too hot. So ladies, please help! Does anyone know this area? Is it a bad spot? Is it too far away from everything? Is it too hot in August? I know this is our wedding and obviously our choice, but I want to make sure we're in a good location. How is everyone doing on their planning? I got a lot accomplished the last few weeks. I'm pretty sure we're set on a place, just need to actually book it. We have our photographer booked. BDW's very own YaelM's hubby! I'm really excited! I made appts today for dressing shopping next weekend! Hopefully I'll find something or at least get a really good idea. We're finishing up the guest list this weekend so I can send out e-STDs within the next week. I had wanted to do postcards, but since we're so far out already, figured it would be a waste of money since I need to get going on invites soon. Have my website about done, just need to add a few more details so we can include it in the STDs. Where is everyone else at in the planning?
