  1. Def wait & buy them when you get to MX; there are cigar stores everywhere. Plus you can't buy a Cuban in the U.S (or at least it's not legal Plus, you can usually haggle a bit with the price (as with most things in MX
  2. Don't know (never seen or been to one) milk?? - I know random right, lol
  3. I don't think it's important for your rings to match at all. I think it's more important that you both have something that you love. You will, after all, be wearing if for the rest of your lives Good luck with choosing!
  4. We choose the week we wanted to travel, then scheduled the wedding according to the days that the resort had open. We got married on a Thursday after arriving on a Sunday. I actually liked getting married a few days after being on the island, it gave me the chance to relax & I had an awesome tan by the time the wedding came around (just be careful & use sunscreen Good luck with your planning.

  6. Congrats on your engagement & welcome to the forum. I know there are some other Huatulco brides on here, so maybe you can chat with them & get some great advice (BDW is great for that.) Good luck with your planning!!
  7. I have never seen it, but heard it's good The Hills??
  8. Sending you positive vibes......hope everything turns out ok. GOOD LUCK &
  9. I agree with the cigars. On our last group trip to MX, cigar smoking was def a big hit with the guys. Can't go wrong with a Cuban cigar
  10. Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. We are currently looking at the W, so I'm glad to hear that someone has stayed there & recommends it. Ashley, as far as Maui, you will never regret your decision to marry in Maui - it's amazing!! We got married on the grounds of our resort, Aston Kaanapali Shores, & it was everything we had imagined it would be & more. I hired a wedding coordinator at Maui Island Wedding by The Salon , & she took care of everything (flowers, cake, minister, paperwork, luau for the reception, photography, etc.) As far as pictures, I'm on my work computer, so no pics, but if I remember this evening, I will attempt (lol) to load some for you. Thanks again ladies for your New Orleans advice, I truly appreciate it.
  11. Nidia, Congrats from one Maui bride to another!!! You will not believe how beautiful a wedding in Maui can be - IT'S AMAZING!!! We did a luau for our reception, which ended up being a fantastic deal b/c we got buy 1 get 1 free so it was essentially $50 per person for all food & drink & a fantastic show. We bought VIP tickets, so we had our own section of tables & our own waitress, so our drinks were never empty. The emcee even announced to the crowd that it was our wedding reception & played a song for our 1st dance. I can honsetly say, that the luau will be something I will remember forever & I also believe it brings the spirit of Hawaii into your reception. Just a thought, don't know if you would be interested in a luau or if you're set on a restaurant reception. Either way, good luck & congrats!!!
  12. Ashley, To make a long story short, we had a wedding in Mexico planned & 3 weeks before we were to leave, the trip was cancelled due to the swine flu. So, we had 3 weeks to essentially "throw" together our wedding in Maui. We ended up getting married at the Aston Kaanapali Shores, which is where we stayed. The grounds were beautiful & we were very happy with everything. This was our WC: http://www.mauiislandwedding.net/home.htm; She took care of everything for us. I emailed her the flowers I wanted & that's exactly what I got, but more beautiful than I ever imagined. She took care of our photography, license, cake, & the details our our luau reception, among probably a million other things that I didn't even think about. We throughly enjoyed doing a luau for the reception - SO MUCH FUN!! We did our rehersal dinner at the Hula Grill (in Whaler's Village) & it was amazing (great food & the most awesome location.) We did visit the Ritz & the location is stunning, but I didn't see any weddings, so I can't comment on that aspect of the property. If you have any questions, please let me know. I didn't do a lot of reseach obviously with only 3 weeks to plan, but I can try to answer any questions you may have. Good luck!!
  13. Wow, what a great engagement story - Congrats!!!! Show us some pics of that ring girl
  14. Try Shoes at DSW: Shop Thousands of Women's Shoes, Men's Shoes and Boots.. I love DSW & you can find a great deal on some designer shoes. They do have a small section devoted to wedding/bridal shoes, but if you don't see anything in that section, look through the other sections, b/c you don't necessarily "have" to use a bridal shoe. Good luck!!
  15. Hello all!! My hubby & I are are planning an impromptu trip to New Orleans & would love some suggestions on nice places to stay (preferably within walking distance to say the French Quarter, etc.) as well as some must do/must sees. We don't have a day set in stone yet, but we are trying to avoid crowds, so obviously no Mardi Gras or other festivals. New Orleans is on our "bucket list", so we are excited!! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
  16. Ashely, welcome to the forum & congrats!! As a fellow May Maui bride, I can say that there is not as much Maui information on the forum as say info on Mexico, but there is some useful info & you can always find someone who is willing to help. I just got "mauied" in May of this year & if I can help you to answer any questions, please let me know. Congrats!!!
  17. HATE!!!! (wanna live someplace warm!!!) 90 degree weather??
