    Hi!

    Congrats and Welcome!
  2. Congratulations and Welcome! When we were thinking about a at home wedding I looked at a few places in New Rochelle, they have really nice venues.
  3. I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with all of the planning. You may want to speak to a travel agent to get some information about a location that would best fit your needs. Some inexpensive places with lots of all inclusive resorts are Jamaica, Mexico and DR. Once you find a spot and set a date it should all fall into place. Good Luck!
  4. Welcome and Congrats fellow Aruban Bride! I know the feeling of not being able to find any information. You're website looks great, what a wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
  5. There is some paperwork that needs to be provided to have a civil ceremony in Aruba.( see below- I got it from my WC) If you go this route you have to get married at their City Hall first. If you decided to get married legally in the US you must provide a copy of your marriage certificate for a marriage blessing. In order to have your civil ceremony in Aruba, the following documents need to be submitted weeks prior to your chosen wedding date: 1.Completed Letters of Intent. Bride and Groom must each fill out one of these forms individually and sign at the bottom. 2.Birth Certificates of each with a Raised Seal and parents name stated on them. 3. If divorced an Official Divorce Decree or if widowed an Official Death Certificate 4. Negative Statement of Marriage for both. This is a documents obtained either at your Civil Registry, Department of Health or Bureau of Vital Statistics. It is a search of your records stating that at the current date, both of you a not married and therefore free and eligible to marry each other. 5. An Apostille Report from your State Department (Secretary of State) certifying the authenticity of your Birth Certificate and Negative Statement of Marriage. 6. Copy of Passport ID pages or a valid ID for both of you as well as for your two witnesses. Hope that Helps!
  6. Seven: I know the feeling. When I first got engaged and we decided on Aruba, I noticed that there weren't many Brides around but there are some. Between theknot.com forums, tripadvisor.com and aruba.com forums I've met a few. I've been able to get feedback on different resorts and it really helped to make my decision easier. I'm getting married next summer at The Rennaissance resort. Let me know if I can help in any way.
  7. I really want to do OOt bags but I don't want to have to carry too much stuff with me. Now I'm leaning towards scratching the whole OOt bag idea and just giving my guests a gift bag as they leave the reception. I plan to go shopping when we arrive and fill up the bags with Aruban gifts/treats and one or two personalized wedding favors. It all depends on the number of guests attending.
  8. Great question, I may need to obtain the same paperwork in a few months. I apologize, I don't have the answer for you. It may take some time to get the information. Have you thought about getting married legally in the U.S. before you leave?
  9. Congrats and Welcome! I agree that the site can be addictive... you'll find lot's of info here.
  10. Welcome and Congrats Amber! Jamaica is a lovely location for your DW. Initially not everyone was thrilled about us having a DW but we made the decision based on what was best for US.

  12. And... don't worry about what everyone else thinks. It's your wedding ... if they love you they will be supportive not matter what you and your FI decide.
  13. Congrats and Welcome! The initial excitement of an engagement and planning a wedding can be stressful especially when people ask tons of questions and provide you with their advice. One you decide where the wedding will take place it should all fall into place. Best of luck!
  14. Welcome! Best wishes on your upcoming wedding.
