  1. Great post... I'm doing research on photographers and I'm trying to figure out if I want an album with my package. I'm not a huge fan of the storybook ones at least not for us.- maybe as a gift for mob/mog

  3. Welcome MsAmErika... we chose Aruba for that reason- it's out of the hurricane belt!
  4. Karen77- You should try Rk Bridal- they have tons of dresses that are as reasonable or expensive as you'd like. Im exhausted- I went to four different bridal salons today- Davids( 2nd attempt), RK Bridal( wanted to retry a dress I thought was "the" one), Macys and the Bridal Garden. I would recommened all of these to those who need a dress. The most important thing is looking around and figuring out the best styles for you. This makes it easier when looking for a dress. I just need to find one....
  5. There has been some mention of holidays and working around that with guests. I met with a TA who suggested that I send travel info and ask my guests to book Oct./Nov. ( for July wedding) because once November hits ppl are only thinking about the hoildays and are spending $$. SO maybe that should be the same for sending invites out also - for those planning Spring weddings.
  6. Welcome and Congrats!!
  7. Welcome!! You'll find a lot of info to help your sister plan her big Day.
  8. Welcome and Congrats... you're getting married on a very special day- My BDay. MoBay is a beautiful location for your wedding. Best of Luck!!
  9. Welcome and Best wishes on your upcoming wedding. You'll find lots of last minute ideas here!!
  10. Ever since I got engaged I've gotten so much UNWANTED opinions from people. I just nod, grin and bear it. It's YOUR wedding, if you want to spend $$ on a TTD do it!!
  11. I've found that sometimes it's best to take a break in between shopping. I went to look for dresses about three weeks ago and I made a few appointments to check out some next week. It can be exhausting and I don't want to make a quick decision and not like my dress next year.
  12. I thought I wanted a simple white dress but I think I'm going all out!! Just as long as it's not too heavy.
  13. beautiful dress... perfect for a DW... love the back!
  14. Here's my plan for our wedding next July 2010: 1)11 months before- mail STD's- ( did this already) 2)9 months before- Letter to guests: with Booking/ Payment & Resort Info- kind of wish I included this in the STD's but didnt want to bombard the guests with too much info at once. They probably won't book that early any way. Plus, the rates weren't available. This will be a reminder to guests and give them a push for them to make deposit to book. 3)4 months before: send out formal invites in March with RSVP date of May 1. By then ppl should know if they are coming.
  15. KarenM: are the dresses at the Birdal Garden new or second hand?
  16. I've been to David's Bridal, RK, a hole in the wall shop in midtown- don't remember the name, and Gowns by Louise in the Bronx. Great post- I need to continue my search. I think I found the dress but I want to look around a little more and retry it to make sure it's "the one". I like the service I got at RK and will definately go back. Just get there early to sign in and don't go on the weekend.
  17. I'm still looking for "the" dress but while looking I have to think about this too. One salesperson asked what shoes I would be wearing. She said I could get away with it if I wear sandals or kitten heels.
